Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict

Chapter 2035: Chapter 2034: Wen Jin Hits a Woman?

Wen Family

The bright lights illuminated the spacious living room.

The summer heat was sealed outside the glass windows, while inside the living room, the temperature was just right. Wen Jin lazily leaned against the leather sofa.

His well-defined fingers held the phone gently to his ear, and under the crystal lights, his handsome features were suffused with a gentle warmth.

On the other end of the line, Jing Xiaocha’s soft voice asked about something she didn’t understand professionally, but for Wen Jin, who worked in the pharmaceutical industry, these were no challenge at all.

He smiled, “It’s very simple.”

Leaning slightly, he picked up a glass of water from the coffee table, took a sip, and then continued to answer Jing Xiaocha’s questions.

After addressing the professional inquiries, Wen Jin informed Jing Xiaocha, “I’ve already discussed Zhang Minghui’s schooling with Mo Xiuchen, so you don’t need to worry anymore.”

“Sister Wen called me earlier and said Little Hui could attend the school where Ziyi is enrolled. Brother Wen, thank you.”

Having solved Zhang Minghui’s schooling issue, Jing Xiaocha was in a great mood and was very grateful to Wen Jin.

Hearing her cheerful voice, Wen Jin also smiled slightly.

Glancing down, his gaze swept across the small clay figure next to the glass, “Your little clay figure is still here with me. When will you come to pick it up, or should I deliver it when I’m free?”

“Brother Wen, no need to deliver it. I’ll come by and pick it up when I have time.”

“Alright, make sure not to overwork yourself until your arm heals.”

“I understand.”

Perhaps because of her good mood, Jing Xiaocha responded to Wen Jin’s advice with a smile.

Wen Jin glanced at the time, advised her to get some early rest, and then ended the call.

Placing the phone on the coffee table, he casually picked up the small clay figure from the table.

A smile naturally curved on his lips as his long forefinger gently touched the clay figure’s smiling eyes, “That old craftsman indeed has remarkable skills, the likeness is so vivid.”

At the Jin family’s breakfast table, Jin Zheyu had just sat down when he noticed that his sister Jin Fengjiao had an unusual look today, with her left cheek appearing slightly swollen.

Moreover, she seemed especially unhappy.

Jin Zheyu asked with a teasing smile, “Who upset our young lady of the Jin family today? Weren’t you as happy as winning the lottery just a few days ago?”

Jin Zheyu’s words earned him a sharp glare from Jin Fengjiao, “Just eat your breakfast and mind your own business.”

Jin Zheyu shrugged nonchalantly, while Jin Yunchang, seated at the head, spoke up, “Fengjiao, give Wen Jin a call later. The film crew will visit the pharmaceutical factory this afternoon.”

“I have a lot to do today and can’t spare the time. Let Zheyu make the call instead.”

Jin Fengjiao’s expression changed slightly as she unexpectedly refused Jin Yunchang’s arrangement.

Jin Zheyu raised an eyebrow, and Jin Yunchang looked at Jin Fengjiao in confusion, “How busy can you be today? Don’t you like Wen Jin? I’m giving you an opportunity; don’t regret it if you miss it.”

“Dad, Wen Jin already has a girlfriend.”

Jin Zheyu couldn’t help but speak up. Though he’d been at odds with his sister recently, he didn’t want his brother-in-law to be Wen Jin. He couldn’t fathom why his dad favored Wen Jin to the extent of encouraging his sister to chase after him.

Jin Yunchang let out a cold laugh, “You mean Ou Yihan? Wen Jin doesn’t like her. As long as your sister works a little harder and with our Jin family’s support, Wen Jin will eventually become a son-in-law of the Jin family.”

“What’s so great about him?”

Jin Zheyu muttered in discontent, and Jin Yunchang laughed heartily, “Wen Jin is far superior to any of those wealthy young men pursuing your sister. Moreover, if we marry into the Wen family, it will strengthen our ties with several old and well-known families in G City.”

Jin Yunchang, the cunning old fox, wasn’t just interested in Wen Jin; he had his eyes on the Mo family, the Gu family, and the other families friendly with the Wen family.

“But my sister doesn’t like him anymore.”

As Jin Zheyu said this, the corners of his mouth curled into a grin.

“I have a lot on my plate. I’m skipping breakfast and heading out first.”

Listening to her father and brother discuss Wen Jin, Jin Fengjiao recalled the slap Wen Jin had given her yesterday. She gritted her teeth with rage, coldly tossed out a remark, and stood up to leave the table.

“…”

Jin Zheyu’s eyes flickered, and he stood up, “Mom, Dad, you continue eating. My sister’s in a bad mood today. I’ll drive her.”

Just as Jin Fengjiao settled into the car, Jin Zheyu quickly followed, opening the driver’s side door, “Move over. I’ll drive today.”

Jin Fengjiao shot him a fierce glare and reached for the door handle.

Jin Zheyu let out a snort of laughter, squinting as he stared at her left cheek, “Sister, did someone hit you? Tell me who it was, and I’ll get revenge for you.”

He found Jin Fengjiao’s mood swings too unpredictable.

Just days ago, she was elated, and today she was downcast, losing interest even in the man she always liked.

Something was definitely off here. “Could it be that the man you like hit you? Wen Jin, for all his pretentious looks, shouldn’t be the type to hit women.”

“Don’t mention Wen Jin in front of me.”

Jin Fengjiao suddenly erupted at Jin Zheyu, yelling.

Jin Zheyu pretended to flinch in fear, then bent over with a sidelong glance at Jin Fengjiao, “Did I guess right? Wen Jin actually hit a woman? Tell me how he hit you, and I’ll take him down.”

Of course, Jin Fengjiao saw through her brother’s feigned concern, recognizing it as relish at her expense.

They’d never shared a close bond as siblings, and recently, their relationship had worsened because of Jing Xiaocha.

Thinking of Jing Xiaocha, her grip on the steering wheel tightened.

With anger transforming into a mocking smile, she looked at Jin Zheyu, “Don’t be too quick to celebrate. Yes, Wen Jin laid hands on me, but do you know why? It was because of Jing Xiaocha, and I believe Jing Xiaocha has feelings for Wen Jin as well.”

As expected, Jin Fengjiao’s words froze the smile on Jin Zheyu’s face.

His mind raced. Wen Jin hitting Jin Fengjiao for Jing Xiaocha? Could it be that Jin Fengjiao did something to Xiaocha?

He really disliked Wen Jin, but he was sure Wen Jin wasn’t the type to hit women without reason. If that were the case, why would Xiaocha have feelings for Wen Jin?

“Really? What did you do to Jing Xiaocha that would provoke Wen Jin to hit you?”

Jin Zheyu asked in a casual tone. Recently, his family had been putting pressure on him, prompting his relationship with Zheng Shirui.

His father had warned him not to have any notions about Jing Xiaocha.

He said that if Jing Xiaocha was what he truly wanted, he could keep her quietly after marriage.

So aside from discussing work with Jing Xiaocha, he hadn’t entertained other thoughts.

It’s not that he had given up on Jing Xiaocha; he needed first to resolve his issues with Zheng Shirui, gain some real power, and prevent his father from controlling his life, including his marriage.
