Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict

Chapter 2040: Chapter 2039: At Least He Doesn’t Dislike Her

In another private room.

After the waiter served the dishes and left, Wen Jin picked up his chopsticks and picked a dish for Ou Yihan. “Yi Han, try this and see how it tastes.”

“Thank you.”

Ou Yihan thanked him gently, her eyes full of a soft smile.

Once Wen Jin had served Ou Yihan with food, he switched the topic to the main point, asking warmly, “What day is your birthday? And from which day have you taken leave?”

Ou Yihan, who was eating, looked up at Wen Jin joyously upon hearing his words. Matching his gentle and placid gaze, a smile blossomed on her exquisite and beautiful face.

Her excitement was hard to conceal, “Wen Jin, are you willing to accompany me on a vacation?”

Her heart sped up as indescribable joy flooded her chest, continuously expanding…

Wen Jin’s lips curled into a warm arc. In contrast to Ou Yihan’s excitement and happiness, his expression was calm.

“The factory has been very busy recently, so I will try my best to arrange it. I’m not sure how many days I can spare.”

In other words, he was willing to accompany her on a vacation and willing to give it a try with her.

Ou Yihan blinked, suddenly lowered her head and pinched the back of her hand hard, then smiled foolishly and said, “I’m not dreaming.”

Looking at her silly smile, Wen Jin’s heart suddenly warmed.

Maybe trying to date Ou Yihan isn’t a bad thing. After all, he can’t remain single all his life; he has to marry someone eventually.

“Who pinches themselves?”

Ou Yihan said indifferently, “I must ensure this is real. Wen Jin, do you know? After telling you those things last night, I was worried the whole time.”

“…”

Wen Jin did not reply, only looking at Ou Yihan with gentle eyes.

Listening to her express her worries and uncertainty, “I couldn’t sleep last night, tossing and turning thinking you’d definitely reject me. Even when you called me this afternoon to invite me to dinner, my heart was pounding, afraid you would say we shouldn’t see each other anymore.”

“You’re overthinking.”

Wen Jin picked up a piece of meat for her again, “Now you can eat with peace of mind.”

“Of course, I have a good appetite now and have to make up for what I didn’t eat today.”

It’s the first time in Ou Yihan’s life she has actively confessed to a man because she likes him and wants to be with him forever, so she chose to be proactive.

She was truly afraid because in the past few months of interacting with Wen Jin, he seemed like a calm lake without any ripples.

He was so calm that it frightened Ou Yihan.

“You still haven’t told me what day your birthday is. I need to plan a few days off.”

Wen Jin served Ou Yihan a bowl of soup and asked gently.

With her mouth full, Ou Yihan’s voice was somewhat muffled but cheerful, “It’s half a month away. I have a week off, even if you can only arrange for two or three days, somewhere not too far would be fine.”

Wen Jin pondered for a moment, “Since you have a week off, I can’t just plan for two or three days. I’ll try to arrange for a week. I’ve not taken a vacation for a while, so it’s a good opportunity to relax.”

Ou Yihan nodded with a bright smile, “Tell me places you like, and I’ll plan.”

“I’m okay to go anywhere. It’s up to where you want to go and have fun.”

“Ok.”

Ou Yihan made a gesture at him.

Wen Jin responded with a gentle smile, and Ou Yihan then added some dishes to his bowl, “I can’t eat all these dishes by myself. You eat some too.”

**

Because Ou Yihan has surgery tomorrow, after dinner, Wen Jin dropped her off at home.

Driving back to his house, he saw Mo Xiuchen’s car parked at his door from afar. Wen Jin’s eyes flickered, slowing the car as he drove forward.

“What are you doing at my place?”

He got out of the car as Mo Xiuchen also stepped out.

“I came to have a chat.”

Mo Xiuchen’s deep eyes scrutinized Wen Jin, with a slight curve at his lips.

Wen Jin chuckled, opened the door to let him in.

After inviting him to sit on the sofa, Wen Jin asked Aunt Chen to pour some water.

“It’s late, why aren’t you home with Ranran and the kids, instead of coming here to talk?”

Mo Xiuchen looked at him without answering.

Wen Jin was a bit unnerved by Mo Xiuchen’s gaze, “Aren’t you drunk?”

Though he had been drinking, there was no way he was drunk.

“I just wanted to check how things are progressing with Ou Yihan.”

Mo Xiuchen stretched out his legs casually, one leg on the coffee table, lazily observing Wen Jin.

Wen Jin’s expression shifted slightly, picking up a cup of water from the coffee table, taking a sip, “We’ve confirmed our relationship tonight.”

There was nothing to conceal from Mo Xiuchen.

He knew what Mo Xiuchen was worrying about, also guessed his reason for visiting tonight.

Mo Xiuchen’s eyes narrowed, replacing his lazy look with sharpness, “Ah Jin, are you only with Ou Yihan because of what I said last time? Is there really no interest or feelings towards her?”

Wen Jin chuckled, “I’m not interested in Ou Yihan, am I supposed to be interested in you?”

“I want you to find a woman and get married quickly, but I don’t want you marrying someone you have no feelings for, guarding an emotionless marriage forever—that would worry Ranran.”

Mo Xiuchen seriously regarded Wen Jin, his deep words filled with seriousness and earnestness.

Wen Jin lowered his gaze, evading Mo Xiuchen’s probing look, “Feelings take time to cultivate. I think Ou Yihan is good in many aspects; she’s suitable to be a wife.”

“So, you don’t actually like her?”

“At least I don’t dislike her; spending a lifetime with her shouldn’t be an issue.”

Wen Jin stated calmly.

There aren’t that many deeply in love couples in the world; some don’t marry for love, but because they’re compatible.

And he felt, Ou Yihan was that compatibility.

“So, you’ve really decided?”

Wen Jin curled his lips, frankly meeting his gaze, “Of course, I never take things of the heart lightly, nor my marriage as a joke.”

“Ou Yihan is indeed good; since you’ve decided, then I wish you both well. Find some time these days to bring Ou Yihan for a meal together.”

“No problem, give me a call when you’ve arranged it.”

“Since your relationship is established, do you plan to marry within this year?”

After a moment’s silence, Mo Xiuchen asked.

Wen Jin hesitated, “That’s hard to say, I can marry whenever, but whether Yi Han’s parents will agree to let her marry so soon, I can’t guarantee.”
