Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict

Chapter 1752: Chapter 1751: I’ll Wait for You

Luo Haofeng held Bai Xiaoxiao’s hand and led her to sit down in front of the leather sofa, without intending to let go of her hand.

After calming his breath slightly, Luo Haofeng softly spoke, ”Xiaoxiao, Xiuchen called me and said that you proposed a breakup with Meng Ke, but he didn’t agree.”

Bai Xiaoxiao’s eyes flickered and met his gentle gaze. She pursed her lips, ”Yes, he doesn’t agree to the breakup.”

”Xiaoxiao, don’t worry, as long as you insist on breaking up with him, no matter how much he disagrees, it won’t matter. Mother Bai may prefer Meng Ke, but that’s for your happiness.”

”If Meng Ke can’t give you happiness, Mother Bai wouldn’t force you.”

”...”

”I’ve already spoken to Ruoyi. As for my mom, I won’t tell her for now. Once things with Meng Ke are settled, I’ll...”

”Haofeng.”

Bai Xiaoxiao interrupted Luo Haofeng’s words.

Luo Haofeng smiled at her.

”You can’t persuade your mom. If you could, things wouldn’t have ended up like that back then.”

Both of them knew this clearly.

Wu Jingfang’s hatred for Mother Bai was impossible to dispel.

”Xiaoxiao, trust me, there’s another reason why I haven’t told my mom yet.”

Luo Haofeng gently kissed her hair, his voice tender and deep, ”The reason my mom has always been unwilling is because my dad has been very indifferent to her. Although they’ve been married for decades, deep in his heart, my dad might have never forgotten Mother Bai.”

Bai Xiaoxiao widened her eyes in surprise.

How could it be?

Even if Luo Haofeng’s father was once lovers with her mom and they loved each other, it’s been decades.

How could he never forget?

Seeing Bai Xiaoxiao’s surprised face, Luo Haofeng gave a bitter smile and said, ”Xiaoxiao, maybe you don’t believe it, but my dad told me long after our initial breakup that his biggest regret in life was the mistake he made back then.”

What Luo Haofeng meant was not the same as what Bai Xiaoxiao was thinking.

She thought the mistake Luo Haofeng was referring to was that Father Luo missed her mom.

But in reality, it wasn’t that simple.

In the past thirty years, Luo Rongbin couldn’t let go because what he couldn’t have was the best, and he couldn’t forget his first love.

However, ever since he learned of the outrageous act Wu Jingfang committed against his first love back then, he started to despise himself.

The peaceful facade he maintained with Wu Jingfang completely collapsed.

Just the night before last, Luo Haofeng finally persuaded his father, Luo Rongbin, to agree to treat his mother better.

Luo Haofeng felt that a big part of their historical grievances was due to his father, because his father’s cold neglect towards his mother kept her in constant resentment and jealousy.

The worse Father Luo treated her, the more she resented Bai Xiaoxiao’s mom—resented that she’d married decades ago and still held a place in her husband’s heart.

”Xiaoxiao, don’t worry. I’ve already told my dad to treat my mom better. As long as my dad starts treating my mom better, slowly, her hatred will reduce.”

Well, Xiaoxiao wasn’t very clear about the feelings between Luo Haofeng’s parents, but from what he said, she could guess the rough situation.

”Would that really work?”

”Will it work? Let’s try. If my mom still continues to disagree, then there’s no need to wait for her approval.”

Though Luo Haofeng’s voice was low, his firm tone left no space for doubt.

”Xiaoxiao, I won’t be separated from you again.”

Bai Xiaoxiao felt a complex mix of emotions. Could she and Luo Haofeng, if they tried hard enough, really have a future?

Yet Luo Haofeng’s words just now stirred a spark of hope within her.

Seeing her friends around her so happy, like Ranran and Mo Xiuchen, Bai Yiyi and Gu Kai, An Lin and Qin Mu, she envied every couple.

”Let me think about it, okay?”

Xiaoxiao couldn’t give him an answer right now. She needed to go home and understand her mom’s current attitude.

She didn’t share Luo Haofeng’s optimism.

Luo Haofeng was already quite delighted.

He smiled and said gently, ”Xiaoxiao, no matter how long you take to consider, I’ll wait for you.”

Hearing him say this, Bai Xiaoxiao felt touched.

She knew Luo Haofeng’s love for her wasn’t less than hers for him.

Otherwise, he wouldn’t have hurried over at this late hour.

She pursed her lips, ignoring the reluctance in her heart, her tender gaze fixed on Luo Haofeng, softly saying, ”I have to go home now. You have to leave for the morning as well, don’t you?”

Luo Haofeng, though reluctant, knew he couldn’t keep her here for the night.

He pulled her to stand up, saying, ”I’ll take you home.”

”No need, I can take a taxi back.”

”No, it’s too late. I wouldn’t be at ease.”

Luo Haofeng’s brow furrowed, his tone firm and uncompromising.

Bai Xiaoxiao didn’t refuse further, ”But if you take me home and then come back, it’ll be very late.”

”It’s okay, I’m used to sleeping late.”

Luo Haofeng’s lips curved into a joyful arc; he did not want to miss an extra minute with her.
