Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict

Chapter 824: 823 truly loves you

“Ranran, have you been influenced by Cheng Jia?”

In the parking lot.

Mo Xiuchen sat sideways in the driver’s seat, his eyes tenderly watching Wen Ran as she bent her head to buckle her seatbelt, his voice spilling from his thin lips, low and warm.

Wen Ran’s seatbelt-fastening motion briefly faltered, then continued.

After fastening her seatbelt, she looked up at Mo Xiuchen, and when she met his deep, tender eyes, a warmth suddenly spread through her heart, and she said softly, “Mo Xiuchen, thank you for just now.”

Upon hearing this, Mo Xiuchen’s handsome eyebrows slightly furrowed, his gaze becoming profound as he looked at the petite woman before him, “Ranran, I’m not angry at Cheng Jia.”

...
Wen Ran’s expression was startled.

Mo Xiuchen enunciated each word, his voice low and tender, carrying a beguiling magic, “Ranran, I truly love you.”

Wen Ran’s mind suddenly seized up.

Earlier, in the mall, although she was touched when she heard that sentence.

And even though her heart fluttered, she thought he had said it deliberately to upset Cheng Jia.

But now, he was actually saying he had truly fallen in love with her.

In the past, she had hoped.

That even if Mo Xiuchen could not regain his memory, he would fall in love with her again, and not with Cheng Jia or any other woman.

But as much as she hoped, there was always some insecurity.

At this moment, hearing him utter those words himself, Wen Ran felt that all the hardships she had endured lately became trivial.

With his declaration, even if she had to live out her life alone, she would not feel lonely or sad.

Ripples of subtle emotions spread through the air.

Their interwoven breaths were akin to their love for each other, profound and entwined.

“Ranran, do you believe me?”

Mo Xiuchen saw Wen Ran gazing at him, motionless.

Her eyes flickered with countless emotions, and his heart too was in turmoil.

His large hand couldn’t help but caress her cheek, his fingertips gently touching the tears glistening at the corners of her eyes.

He understood the panic and unease in her heart and pitied her sadness and conflict.

His long fingers gently stroked her face, looking into her eyes, his own filled with love so intense it could not be melted away.

It was like an impenetrable net, enveloping Wen Ran completely. She had no way out, nor did she want to escape.

Her tear-stained eyes brimmed with a trace of a smile, her lips curving slightly. That clear, gentle smile, in Mo Xiuchen’s eyes, turned his heart into a soft expanse of water.

“I believe.”

Wen Ran’s voice was tinged with a hint of a sob.

It was out of emotion, out of joy. She was truly grateful to the heavens, for letting her meet and fall in love with Mo Xiuchen, such an outstanding and perfect man.

Being loved by him was a blessing she must have earned over several lifetimes.

Mo Xiuchen smiled, a tender and enchanting smile.

His fingertips gently wiped away the tears from the corners of her eyes, and he spoke gently, “Silly Ranran, are you moved to tears by this?”

“Mhm.”

Wen Ran admitted.

In front of him, she least wanted to pretend to be strong.

Many times before, she had wanted to throw herself into his arms and cry, but she was afraid. Now, at this moment, she couldn’t hold back her tears anymore, letting them flow like floodwaters breaking through a dam.

Mo Xiuchen, with a pained heart, pulled her into his embrace, his long arms wrapping tightly around her.

“`

She leaned into his chest and cried her heart out, his large hand gently and indulgently patting her back.

At first, Wen Ran shed tears silently, but upon hearing Mo Xiuchen’s tender words, “Ranran, if you want to cry, just let it out,” she finally sobbed aloud.

She had cried many times before.

But during those times, she wept alone in sorrow, burying herself in her pillow so no one would hear, even when she cried hard.

At this moment, in the arms of the man she deeply loved, even crying felt more liberating than before.

After an uncertain length of time, Wen Ran’s crying gradually subsided. From above her head, Mo Xiuchen’s teasing voice came, “Ranran, you’ve made my shirt all wet with your tears. When we get home, you’ll have to wash it for me.”

Wen Ran looked up at him with her eyes red and swollen, a hint of distress in her eyes, yet she suddenly smiled again, “Okay, it’s just a shirt. I’ll wash it for you.”

“Hmm, that’s a good girl.”

Mo Xiuchen took a tissue from the box and gently wiped away her tears, asking softly, “Are you tired from crying? You must be hungry by now, right?”

She hadn’t felt it until he mentioned it, but now she suddenly felt her stomach growling and nodded emphatically.

“Let’s go home, and I’ll make dinner for you.”

After Mo Xiuchen had wiped away her tears and snot, Wen Ran finally sat up straight. “Do you know how to cook?”

“Would I not know how to cook?” Mo Xiuchen retorted, a glint of confusion flashing through his eyes.

He quickly regained his composure and, looking at Wen Ran’s swollen eyes, said teasingly, “If I didn’t know, then you’ll just have to cook for me.”

“It’s not like I asked you to buy those ingredients.”

Wen Ran pouted in protest.

Mo Xiuchen laughed joyfully, “Alright, I bought them, so I’ll cook. However, I don’t remember whether I can cook or not, so how about you guide me on the side while I do the cooking?”

“That’s something to consider.”

Wearing a playful and cute smile, Wen Ran looked delightful to Mo Xiuchen. His heart softened at the sight, and his lips couldn’t help but curl up.

“Then it’s decided, let’s go home now.”

Since losing his memory, Mo Xiuchen had never been as happy as he was now, even during the times before when he was with Wen Ran. He felt an unparalleled sense of satisfaction and happiness this evening.

“Hmm.”

Wen Ran nodded with a smile.

As the car took to the road, Mo Xiuchen turned on the music and set the volume low so it wouldn’t interfere with their conversation but still be audible—it was truly just background music.

On the way home, Mo Xiuchen and Wen Ran didn’t make any pretense of courting each other or groping for topics of conversation. They spoke when they felt like it.

Their chat was inconsequential.

Yet it filled their hearts with emotions and joy.

That kind of happiness defied description. No possession in the world could compare to a gentle smile or a tender word from a deeply loved one.

Mo Xiuchen drove to the villa in the suburbs, and seeing the two of them together, Qing Feng and Qing Yang immediately called Nanny Zhang’s family out to the night market. The spacious villa was left with just Mo Xiuchen and Wen Ran.

They had been alone like this before.

But their frame of mind was different now.

With one hand holding groceries and the other hand holding Wen Ran, Mo Xiuchen entered the living room. He didn’t let go of her hand as they walked together into the kitchen. Wen Ran gently struggled, “Mo Xiuchen.”

It was only after Mo Xiuchen put the groceries on the marble countertop that he released Wen Ran’s hand. “Ranran, take a rest for a bit. After I wash the vegetables, if there’s something I don’t know, I’ll ask for your guidance.”

“Okay!”

Wen Ran agreed cheerfully, her brows and eyes filled with thick smiles.

She didn’t know whether this could be considered a breach of her promise. Yet, at the moment when Mo Xiuchen told her that he had fallen in love with her again after his amnesia, all she wanted was to spend a happy evening with him.

No need for promises, nor vows of everlasting devotion, and no need for the passionate entanglement of lovers. They were like just friends, accompanying each other in cooking and eating.

She thought, just this once, she would follow her heart.
