Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict

Chapter 807: 806 I’ll go back and be with you

Wen Ran filled a tub with water and comfortably soaked in a bath.

When she came downstairs dressed, Little Liu was carrying dishes to the dining room, and soon the table was fully set.

“Little Liu, go and call Housekeeper Uncle Liu, Qing Feng, and Qing Yang. Let’s all eat together.”

Little Liu happily agreed and ran out to call the others. Qing Feng, looking at the full table, cheerfully suggested, “Miss Wen, why not give Young Master Mo a call and ask him to come back too? After all, he’s contributed to this feast.”

No sooner had he spoken when Qing Yang nudged him with his elbow.

Qing Feng pretended not to understand and looked eagerly at Wen Ran.

...
Little Liu, carrying in soup, joined in upon hearing this, “Miss Wen, shall I call the young master? We all thought he looked much thinner when he came back today. It would be good for him to come back and have some of my mom’s nourishing soup.”

“Yeah, Little Liu, you really do care about your young master,” Qing Feng teased, prompting Little Liu to raise an eyebrow, “Of course, I do. If I don’t look after our young master, who will?”

After saying this, he realized he misspoke.

He quickly added, “And Miss Wen cares for the young master too. Actually, the young master only cares for the kindness of Miss Wen.”

Listening to their exchange, Wen Ran hesitated for a moment, then softly said, “Little Liu, take some food to Mo Xiuchen at the office. The commute from the office home isn’t short, and it’s rush hour now. It’s inconvenient to go back and forth.”

Little Liu wanted to say something when Housekeeper Uncle Liu spoke up, “The young grandmother has asked you to deliver food to the young master. You should hurry. It’s quitting time. Call the young master first to avoid a wasted trip if he has already eaten.”

“Alright, I’ll call the young master now.”

Little Liu immediately took out his phone and dialed Mo Xiuchen’s number, with impressive speed.

Wen Ran did not stop him, merely lowering her eyelids, her clear and expressive eyes fixed on the full table, recalling the car accident Mo Xiuchen had on his way back from the office a few months ago.

Back then, she was truly frightened.

Outside the operation room at the hospital, when she saw the nurse cover him with a white sheet, her mind went completely blank, with only one thought: she couldn’t lose Xiuchen.

Now, thinking back, if Mo Xiuchen hadn’t pretended to be dead to trick her, she wouldn’t have compromised.

Perhaps, all the events that followed wouldn’t have happened; he wouldn’t have lost his memory, and she wouldn’t have agreed to Cheng Jia…

Lost in her thoughts, Mo Xiuchen’s voice suddenly broke through the line from Little Liu’s phone, deep and pleasant: “Hello!”

“Young Master, are you at the office right now?”

Little Liu glanced at Wen Ran and smiled as he asked.

“Yes, I’m at the office. What’s up?”

Mo Xiuchen sounded calm. Little Liu said cheerfully, “The young grandmother has asked me to bring you some food at the office, so don’t go out for a meal. I’ll bring it right over.”

“Bringing me food? Did Ranran say this?”

Mo Xiuchen seemed somewhat surprised.

“Yes, the young grandmother said so. She also mentioned that it’s rush hour now, and with heavy traffic, she’s worried it would be inconvenient and unsafe for you to rush back. Young Master, just wait at the office, I’ll be quick.”

Little Liu, who rarely spoke so much in one go, made a point of conveying Wen Ran’s concern for Mo Xiuchen, who felt a wave of warmth from the sentiment, while Wen Ran slightly furrowed her brows.

“No need, it’s the same distance for you to come here as it is for me to go home, and I’ve already finished work. I’m headed home now.”

“But, the young grandmother doesn’t want you to return; she fears the commute back and forth will be too exhausting for you.” Seeing Wen Ran frown, Little Liu quickly added another phrase of his own.

But no matter what, they kept repeating the words “the young madam.”

“Give the phone to Ranran, I want to talk to her for a moment.”

Mo Xiuchen pondered for a while on the other end of the phone before instructing Little Liu.

Little Liu dared not disobey his orders, and without caring whether Wen Ran was willing to take his call, immediately handed over the phone, “Miss Wen, the young master wants to speak with you.”

Before handing it over, he didn’t forget to turn off the speakerphone.

When Qing Feng saw his action, his eyebrows rose, a flash of surprise crossed his eyes, seemingly astonished that the clumsy Little Liu could be so alert.

Wen Ran had no choice but to take Little Liu’s phone, pursed her lips, and spoke softly, “Hello?”

“Ranran, is everything Little Liu just said true?”

The tenderness suddenly present in Mo Xiuchen’s voice, whether it was Wen Ran’s illusion or not, made her heart skip a beat the moment she heard it.

“Yes, the roads are congested at this time, it’s not safe, you better not come back. I’ll have Little Liu bring you some food, the soup Nanny Zhang makes is very tasty, you should have some.”

“Ranran, I’ll come back to have dinner with you, don’t worry, I’ll be careful.”

After Mo Xiuchen finished, Wen Ran wanted to stop him, but the call had already been cut off.

She handed the phone back to Little Liu, calmly saying, “Mo Xiuchen is coming back, let’s wait.”

“Okay, Miss Wen.” Little Liu beamed, almost thirty years old but delighting like a child.

MS Group was indeed not close to the suburbs where they lived, but Mo Xiuchen didn’t come back slowly; his speed was probably usual.

Qing Feng and Little Liu went outside to wait for him.

Twenty minutes later, they entered the living room following Mo Xiuchen, Wen Ran’s heart rate speeding up at the sound of footsteps, lifting her eyes to meet the depth of Mo Xiuchen’s gaze exactly.

In that instant, it was like lightning striking flint.

The handsome brows of the man reflected in her watery eyes, his lips curving up in a pleased arc, just as they had several months ago when she sat on the couch waiting for him to return.

“Ranran!”

Mo Xiuchen’s voice was magnetic and gentle, carrying a captivating enchantment; whenever Wen Ran heard him call her that, her heart raced uncontrollably.

She inwardly cursed herself, stood up, and greeted him as if greeting an old friend, “Was there no traffic jam on the way?”

“No, the road was quite clear all the way; are you hungry now?”

Mo Xiuchen stopped in front of the sofa, just two steps away from Wen Ran. He could smell the light fragrance that was uniquely hers with every breath, his smile growing a bit deeper, “I picked some flowers and put them in the master bedroom this morning, did you see them?”

Wen Ran nodded with a smile, “I saw them, those flowers smell very nice.”

“I’m glad you like them.” Mo Xiuchen glanced toward the dining room, and Wen Ran immediately said, “Let’s eat first; if the food gets cold, it won’t taste good.”

It was a good thing it was summer; if it were winter, the food would have gone cold by now.

However, several of the dishes today were cold dishes anyway, so it didn’t matter.

Mo Xiuchen smiled at her and gestured for her to go first. Wen Ran truly understood him and, without saying anything, led the way into the dining room.
