Flash Marriage: He is a Wife-pampering Addict

Chapter 717: Why are you in a hurry to go back?

The next day, Wen Ran suggested to Mother Qin that Qin Mu should be transferred to Kangning Hospital in G City.

Mother Qin agreed without hesitation, “Ranran, Ah Mu has been living in G City for years now. He isn’t used to being back in A City.

Especially during this period of hospitalization, the people who have come to visit him are not his closest friends. In G City, he has Ah Kai, Ah Feng, and you. Your Uncle Qin and I will feel more at ease.”

A gentle smile played on Wen Ran’s face.

Glancing at Qin Mu on the hospital bed, she said, “Aunt, Qin Mu initially thought you wouldn’t agree. Since you have agreed, we’ll head home tomorrow, and he’ll come back with us.”

“Hmm.”

Mother Qin smiled and nodded before adding, “Ranran, can you promise me one thing?”

“What is it, aunt?”

Wen Ran kept her smile, looking at Mother Qin with gentle eyes.

On the hospital bed, Qin Mu’s eyes subtly changed.

He looked at his mother somewhat surprised as if he was afraid that she might say something that would put Wen Ran in a spot.

Mother Qin didn’t look at Qin Mu’s eyes. Instead, she only focused on Wen Ran.

She tactfully said, “Ranran, the thing is, since Ah Mu’s injury has not fully healed yet, your Uncle Qin and I want to be updated about his condition regularly.

Could you perhaps call us every two or three days to let us know how his recovery is progressing?”

Wen Ran readily agreed, “Aunt, no problem.”

From the side, Qin Mu furrowed his eyebrows a little.

Just as he was about to say something, Wen Ran’s cell phone rang.

She took out her phone and upon seeing the caller ID, her expression slightly changed. She got up and apologized, “Aunt, I’ll take this call outside.”

The moment the ward door closed, Qin Mu lowered his voice and asked Mother Qin, “Mom, why do you want Wen Ran to call you every two or three days?”

Mother Qin laughed lightly, “What’s the problem? I just want to know how my son is doing. Once you’re in G City, you must stay in the hospital to get better and not roam around, did you hear me?”

By the end, Mother Qin stopped laughing and wore a serious facial expression.

“Qin Mu licked his lip, saying lightly, ” Mom, even if Mo Xiuchen has forgotten about Wen Ran, it’s only temporary. There’s no need for you to do this.”

Mother Qin shot him a glare and retorted, “What do you mean ‘no need to do this?’ If you knew any better, you wouldn’t have dragged yourself into such a mess, would you?

“Ah Mu, you’re my only son, I can’t bear to see you in this lost and dispirited state every day. Since Wen Ran and Mo Xiuchen are divorced now, I believe they can’t possibly get back together.”

“You almost lost your life for her. Why not fight for her?”

Mother Qin truly felt heartbroken for her son.

Qin Mu’s eyes dimmed slightly, revealing a touch of sternness on his face,” Mom, Mo Xiuchen is my best friend. I can’t just take advantage of his amnesia to win over the woman he loves.”

“Then why are you going to G City?”

Mother Qin frowned, looking sharply at her son.

Qin Mu tightened his lips and kept quiet. After a while, he said in a muffled voice, “I’m going to G City so that you won’t keep bringing women into my hospital room. Mom, I can handle my own matters. You don’t have to worry.”

Outside the ward, in the corridor, Wen Ran walked to the resting area before pressing the answer key. With a cold voice she answered, “Hello!”

“Wen Ran, what did you say to Mo Xiuchen over the phone?”

Before she could finish her sentence, Cheng Jia’s reproachful voice came through the phone, sounding quite annoyed.

Wen Ran was taken aback and immediately thought of the call she received that afternoon. A sharp pang hit her heart.

She pressed her lips together, her voice still cold, devoid of any emotion, “I didn’t, has something happened to Mo Xiuchen?”

“You are not allowed to call him Mo Xiuchen anymore, Wen Ran, don’t forget what you promised. If you continue pestering Mo Xiuchen, or intentionally cross paths with him, you will…”

“Cheng Jia, you’re crazy!”

Wen Ran sharply interrupted Cheng Jia’s words.

Her beautiful face showed a hint of annoyance, “Of course, I remember the promise I made. You don’t have to remind me all the time. Now, I want to know what exactly happened to Mo Xiuchen?”

Cheng Jia seemed to be shocked by Wen Ran’s rare display of anger.

Even when she threatened Wen Ran to swear over the phone, Wen Ran didn’t talk to her in such a tone.

At that time, Wen Ran was very concerned about Mo Xiuchen’s health, insisting that Cheng Jia should immediately take him to the hospital, almost begging her.

But now, she actually shouted at her, not allowing her to speak the last few words.

“Mo Xiuchen bought a plane ticket to leave D Country on his own. He might be coming back home. Wen Ran, I’m warning you, even if you do see Mo Xiuchen, you cannot say anything to him. You nearly killed him once already, I won’t let you hurt him again.”

By the end, Cheng Jia regained some of her courage, speaking as if Wen Ran would indeed only harm Mo Xiuchen.

Wen Ran didn’t pay heed to her warning. When Cheng Jia said that Mo Xiuchen might be coming back home, her mind briefly went blank.

“Wen Ran, did you hear what I said?”

Cheng Jia screamed on the phone like a shrew.

Wen Ran pursed her lips and gently asked, “When did he board the plane?”

When Luo Haofeng received the call from Wen Ran, he had just finished discussing some matters. In less than half an hour, he rushed to the hospital.

At the hospital entrance, he bumped into Wen Ran who had just gotten out of the car.

“Wen Ran, weren’t you planning to go back to G City tomorrow? Why are you suddenly in such a hurry to leave this afternoon?”

Luo Haofeng looked at Wen Ran, puzzled.

She seemed to have just come back from the garden, carrying a faint scent of roses.

As he met her probing eyes, Wen Ran smiled faintly, saying, “I’ve already bought all the saplings and flower seedlings. You’ve also completed your business, right? Since we’re both done, why should we stay an extra day? Don’t you want to see Xiaoxiao sooner?”

Mentioning Bai Xiaoxiao, Luo Haofeng’s eyes dimmed.

His face also seemed a bit rigid. Wen Ran noticed it and asked, “Luo Haofeng, why are you wearing such a pitiful expression? Did you have an argument with Xiaoxiao again?”

Even being in a relationship, Luo Haofeng and Bai Xiaoxiao still fought often.

This confused Wen Ran. If they loved each other, why would they get angry over trivial matters?

When she shared this confusion with Bai Xiaoxiao, Bai Xiaoxiao also expressed her surprise. She couldn’t understand how Wen Ran and Mo Xiuchen avoided quarreling completely.

Fighting and loving someone are not related. However, Wen Ran and Mo Xiuchen never fought over small things.

Perhaps, they had weathered too many storms and cherished the limited time they had together.

However, concerning Bai Xiaoxiao and Luo Haofeng, their relationship was complicated due to Mother Bai’s involvement which often resulted in fights.

Luo Haofeng forced a smile, “No, you’re leaving early, what about Ah Mu? Is he coming back with us?”

Wen Ran nodded, “The arrangements for Qin Mu’s transfer have been made. Considering his current condition, he can definitely come back with us.”

Her words implied that there would be no need for a medical escort.

Luo Haofeng stared at Wen Ran’s beautiful face, curious, “Wen Ran, why are you in such a hurry to leave? What’s going on exactly?”
