That night, Wen Ran had another nightmare, different from the previous ones.

It was a more terrifying dream, where she dreamt she was kidnapped. A few strange males had thrown her into an abandoned factory. She cried for help, but neither heaven nor earth responded. She was forced by them to take some horrifying drugs.

When she began to feel unwell, those scoundrels came rushing towards her. In order to avoid being violated, she prepared to bite her own tongue and kill herself, but then, she was frightened awake.

“Ranran, what’s wrong? Did you have a nightmare?”

She might have made too much noise, startling Bai Xiaoxiao, who was sleeping next to her. Xiaoxiao sat upright immediately and looked at Wen Ran’s pale face under the dim light.’

Wen Ran was gasping for breath, as a foreboding feeling spread through her heart like a virus. The nightmare felt so real that she couldn’t help but be afraid.

“Ranran, what did you dream of? You looked so scared.”

Bai Xiaoxiao looked at Wen Ran’s panicked eyes and hugged her.

Two minutes later, Wen Ran’s emotions calmed down. She managed a faint smile and said: “Xiaoxiao, I’m okay now. Let’s go back to sleep.”

“Mm-hmm!”

Bai Xiaoxiao nodded and laid down to continue sleeping.

The next morning, Wen Ran and Bai Xiaoxiao came out of the hotel together, only to see Luo Haofeng’s tall figure leaning against a white BMW by the roadside. He was striking a cool pose, his handsome face attracting a lot of female attention.

Upon seeing them, Luo Haofeng waved at Wen Ran.

“Ranran, you asked the other day why I didn’t become an actor. I think he’s the one who should become an actor.”

Bai Xiaoxiao turned her head and whispered into Wen Ran’s ear.

Wen Ran couldn’t help but chuckle, and said: “He could easily make a living off his good looks, but chooses to rely on his abilities instead.”

“Hahaha! ”

Bai Xiaoxiao laughed out loud without a care for her image. Although they spoke in low voices, their glances frequently strayed to Luo Haofeng. He naturally guessed that they were talking about him, and his beautiful eyes narrowed, a narcissistic smile spreading across his handsome face.

“Good morning, Miss Wen, Miss Bai!”

He stepped forward and greeted them politely.

Wen Ran responded with ‘Good morning, Factory Manager Luo’, then paused, looking puzzled. “What brings you here so early, Factory Manager Luo?”

Luo Haofeng ceased his playful demeanor and said earnestly: “I am here on MO Xiuchen’s orders to wait for Miss Wen. Last night, I checked the hotel’s surveillance. That car arrived two minutes before you received the call and waited at the hotel entrance for nearly twenty minutes before leaving. Miss Wen, you’re very smart. You must have already guessed that they were targeting you.”

While explaining, he kept observing Wen Ran’s facial expressions. Wen Ran didn’t hide anything. “Mm, Xiaoxiao and I saw the car from the window last night, and we also saw the person getting out of it.”

Luo Haofeng smiled gently and continued: “Until we can investigate this

matter further, MO Xiuchen worries about your safety. He’s asked me to act as your bodyguard for the time being. Ladies, let’s get in the car!”

“A bodyguard?”

Bai Xiaoxiao looked at Luo Haofeng in surprise. Do bodyguards usually dress as handsome and dashing as him?

Wen Ran understood Bai Xiaoxiao’s thoughts and smiled, accepting his proposal: “Thank you, Factory Manager Luo. Xiaoxiao, let’s get in the car.”

“What a trusting man MO Xiuchen is.”

Bai Xiaoxiao took a glance at Luo Haofeng out of the corner of her eyes and mumbled softly. He had assigned such a handsome guy as Wen Ran’s bodyguard, but wasn’t worried about Wen Ran developing feelings for this handsome bodyguard?

“Xiaoxiao, what are you saying?

Wen Ran shot her a reproaching look and bent over to get in the car. Bai

Xiaoxiao giggled: “I didn’t say anything!”

“Does Miss Bai also think I’m handsomer than MO Xiuchen?”

Bai Xiaoxiao’s mumblings had drifted into Luo Haofeng’s ears. The corners of his lips turned up in a charming smile as he suddenly stepped forward and leaned towards her.

“Did I say you were handsome?”

A masculine scent suddenly invaded her ear and Bai Xiaoxiao was startled. She abruptly turned her head to see what was happening, only to find herself too close to Luo Haofeng. Her lips pressed directly onto his.

Their close contact and his breath sprayed all over her face. Bai Xiaoxiao’s cheeks turned red instantly.

Luo Haofeng obviously hadn’t expected her to suddenly turn her head. His hand was resting on the car, and he was leaning forward at the same height as her. The lips that met his were soft and sweet, like petals after the rain, tempting him to taste them without thinking. His sexy lips instinctively moved a bit.

“Luo Haofeng, you pervert!”

Bai Xiaoxiao reacted and immediately detached her lips from his, raising her hand in an attempt to slap him.

“Miss Bai, it was you who acted indecently just now. I’m the one who was taken advantage of, and yet you are trying to hit me.”

Luo Haofeng accurately captured her wrist, ignoring the sensation of their recent kiss, and explained calmly.

“Let go of me, that was my first kiss! If you hadn’t suddenly leaned in, how could I have kissed you?”

Bai Xiaoxiao was both embarrassed and angry. This jerk, he had stolen her first kiss, which she had been saving for 22 years to give to the man she loved.

Luo Haofeng released her hand, shrugging, he said: “Girls who want to give their first kiss to me can queue all the way to the exhibition hall. Your kiss was a first kiss, and mine was too. So, we’re even. Neither of us is at a loss. Miss Bai, please get in the car!”

After saying that, he turned around, opened the driver’s door, and climbed in.

In the car, Wen Ran had clearly seen the whole incident. Seeing Bai Xiaoxiao getting upset and afraid she might refuse to get in the car, Wen Ran hurriedly pulled her inside and comforted her in a soft voice: “Xiaoxiao, it was just an accident, calm down. Let’s just pretend it never happened.”

Bai Xiaoxiao looked at Luo Haofeng in the front seat and mumbled: “If it wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t even want to board this car.”

“I know, be good, don’t get angry.”

Wen Ran coaxed her like a child. Bai Xiaoxiao was amused by her words and started to laugh: “Don’t worry, I won’t make things difficult for you.”

In G City, Qin Mu saw MO Xiuchen continue to work hard, even through meals. He couldn’t help but frown, reached out his hand, and abruptly shut his laptop, complaining: “MO Xiuchen, with you looking like this, how am I supposed to

eat?”

MO Xiuchen gave him a cold look, reopened the laptop, and said in a deep voice: “Just eat your food and stop looking at me. Let me finish arranging things. I have to go to F City tonight.”

Surprised, Qin Mu stopped chewing the shrimp in his mouth. He looked at MO

Xiuchen incredulously and asked, “Go to F City? For Wen Ran? Didn’t Uncle Ming investigate what happened yesterday? You’ve already made Luo Haofeng her bodyguard, why do you need to go in person? If you’re really that worried, I’ll ask Uncle Ming to assign a few more people to protect Wen Ran!”

He was so busy since the start of the project he felt he was doing the work of two. He returned home from a dinner meeting at twelve last night, and was called by him to start work at six in the morning today.

Even while having lunch, his boss was working on his laptop, causing him to lose his appetite.
