Giant Dragon Lord: Starting from Daily Intelligence

Chapter 182: Chapter 176: Decapitation Tactic

The night wind howled, whining as it swept through the canyon like a dirge for the dead.

Lillian walked over to Raylo and handed him a waterskin.

”Brother, are you confident? We’re talking about a full hundred Hawk Knights, after all.”

”If we faced them head-on at Panshi Castle, our chances of winning would be less than thirty percent.”

Raylo took a sip of water, his voice clear.

”The Fiery Sun Kingdom’s main aerial force is there. If we engaged, we’d be completely overwhelmed by their numbers and their system, and we could even be wiped out entirely. But here at Eagle’s Sorrow Castle, things are different.”

He paused, a glint in his eyes.

”Here, all we face is the Hawk Knight Order, rushing back to provide reinforcements with their formation in disarray. And we are the hunters, lying in wait.”

He looked toward Moonlight, who was crouched on Baofeng’s broad back.

”What’s more, we also have our ’Chief Mage,’ Moonlight.”

Moonlight raised its head and let out a low growl.

Light and shadow intertwined and distorted, sketching out one silhouette after another, each identical to a Storm Griffin.

The light gradually solidified, transforming from illusory magical images into lifelike, physical entities.

The smooth lines, the texture of the feathers, even the ferocity in their eyes—they were all indistinguishable from real Magical Beasts.

A moment later, a Storm Griffin King identical to Baofeng, along with thirteen formidable Storm Griffins, appeared among their ranks.

Raylo scratched Moonlight’s head, and it squinted its eyes comfortably, letting out a contented purr.

Now, the force Raylo had assembled for this ambush was stronger than ever.

Two majestic Tier Four Storm Griffin Kings.

Twenty-six murderous Tier Three Storm Griffin Knights.

Ten ready Pegasus Mages.

Over forty Pegasus Knights with their bows drawn and ready.

「Time passed in silent anticipation.」

When the sky began to show the pale light of dawn, and the first rays pierced the darkness, a dense cluster of black dots appeared in the distant sky.

The black dots rapidly grew larger, transforming into a hundred soaring Hawks.

The leading Knight, clad in heavy Golden Armor, was none other than the hastily traveling Count of the Falcon.

His face was a mask of anxiety and rage. Clearly, the news that Eagle’s Sorrow Castle was under siege had thrown him into disarray.

He never would have dreamed that Raylo would be so audacious as to bypass the main battlefield and strike right at his heartland.

To save time, his forces were stretched out in a long, serpentine line, with large gaps between the Knights—nothing like their usual tight formation.

”Move out!”

Raylo gave the order to all his Knights.

”ROAR!”

Two earth-shattering roars erupted from behind the mountain peaks simultaneously.

Two identical Storm Griffin Kings shot into the sky like a pair of cannonballs.

The terrifying pressure of the Tier Four Magical Beasts swept through the entire canyon like a physical shockwave.

The Hawk Knight Order, which had been flying at full speed, was instantly thrown into chaos, with men and Hawks tumbling.

Before this terror that stemmed from the depths of their bloodline, their Tier Two Hawk mounts whined pitifully. Their wings trembled uncontrollably, their flight paths grew erratic, and some were so terrified they plummeted directly toward the ground.

Close behind them were the twenty-six Storm Griffins, stirring up gale-force winds. They formed a massive V-shaped attack formation, like the Grim Reaper’s scythe, and sliced viciously into the Hawk Knight Order’s chaotic ranks.

Thunder cracked through the canyon!

The Count of the Falcon’s pupils contracted in an instant.

”Storm Griffin Kings? Two of them!”

He cried out in shock, the horror in his heart like a bursting dam, instantly drowning all his anxiety and rage.

One Tier Four Storm Griffin King was already enough of a headache. Now, two identical behemoths were charging straight for him with unstoppable momentum.

Cold killing intent burned in their golden eyes. The pressure alone caused his Hawk mount to cry out miserably, its flight speed dropping so drastically it nearly stalled in mid-air.

”Rally!”

The Count of the Falcon roared.

But his command was pale and powerless at this moment.

Under the terrifying pressure of the two Storm Griffin Kings, the hundred Hawk Knights were cut in half.

The twenty-six Storm Griffin Knights that followed were like tigers pouncing on a flock of sheep. The gales they stirred up created deadly turbulence in the narrow canyon.

The Hawk Knights were tossed about, completely unable to form an effective defensive line.

Raylo’s objective had been crystal clear from the very beginning.

A decapitation strike.

He rode the real Baofeng, while Ed and Alex rode the two strongest Storm Griffins, guarding his flanks and forming a sharp triangular assault formation.

Meanwhile, the Storm Clone created by Moonlight formed a deadly pincer attack with Raylo from another angle, locking down the Count of the Falcon.

”Thunder Net, release!”

Alina Great Mage’s voice rang out from the rear.

The Pegasus Mages completed their incantations. At Alina’s command, a massive Thunder Net materialized in the air, precisely enveloping the densest and most chaotic part of the Hawk Knights’ formation.

”CRACKLE!”

Blinding bolts of electricity leaped wildly. A dozen or so Hawk Knights caught in the net instantly convulsed, falling from the sky with their mounts amidst plumes of smoke.

Immediately after, Ice Cones, Fireballs, Wind Blades... all sorts of Instant Magic spells exploded like brilliant fireworks within the enemy ranks, reaping lives and creating even greater chaos.

The forty-odd Pegasus Knights patrolled the edges of the battlefield. Every time a bowstring was drawn, an arrow would whistle through the air, aimed specifically at those Hawk Knights trying to regroup and counter-attack.

The entire battlefield had become a meticulously planned slaughter.

Seeing the situation was dire, the Count of the Falcon, a formidable figure in his own right, quickly recovered from his shock.

He knew that if he couldn’t escape with his life today, everything he had would be reduced to nothing.

He was a Tier Three Earth Knight. Although his combat effectiveness was limited in the air, an eruption of his Fighting Spirit could still unleash immense destructive power.

”Beast, get the hell out of my way!”

He roared, his body flaring with the light of his Fighting Spirit. A heavy Battle Hammer appeared in his hand, and he swung it violently at the Storm Clone that had reached him first.

However, the Storm Clone deftly sidestepped, dodging the heavy blow. At the same time, one of its giant Iron Feather wings swept out like a steel whip.

”BANG!”

The Count of the Falcon hastily blocked with his Battle Hammer. A Giant Strength slammed into him, making his arm go numb. His Hawk mount shrieked as the force threw it off balance.

The very instant the Count of the Falcon’s mount lost its balance, Raylo arrived, riding Baofeng.

Raylo and Baofeng shared a mental connection. The Tier Four beast displayed an agility and precision that belied its massive frame.

Baofeng immediately unsheathed its deadliest weapons.

Its claws, sharp enough to tear through steel.

The claws drew a cold glint of light in the dim dawn, moving too fast for anyone to react.
