Giant Dragon Lord: Starting from Daily Intelligence

Chapter 171: Chapter 165: Trampling the Monastery and New Intelligence

The sun in Red Iron Castle seemed a little hotter than in Black Stone Territory.

Five consecutive days of rest were enough for the Knights to recover from the fatigue of war.

Lillian was bored out of her mind.

She sat atop the castle’s highest tower, her pale, slender legs dangling and swinging gently in the air.

Coal Ball had already packed up and taken away everything of value in Red Iron Castle, leaving nothing but an empty shell to explore.

Not far away, a large cat was sprawled on the warm stone tiles, yawning lazily. It was Moonlight.

It had no interest in the conflicts of the Human World. As long as there was sun to bask in and an endless supply of delicious food, that was the best a dragon’s life could be.

”Moonlight, when do you think my brother will leave? It’s so boring here.”

Lillian gently poked Moonlight’s tail with the tip of her toe.

Moonlight lifted its pale golden eyelids to glance at her, then rolled over, pointed its butt at her, and flicked the tip of its tail impatiently.

Lillian pouted, deciding not to argue with the tsundere big cat.

She looked down at the square below, where Thor was wrestling with his Contracted Magical Beast, an Armored Rhinoceros, his upper body bare.

Man and beast, muscles bulging, collided with dull thuds in the dust, drawing cheers from many of the Knights.

Everyone had something to do, except for her, the genius Mage, who was so idle she felt like she was growing mold.

Raylo looked out the window and happened to see Lillian sitting on the edge of the tower, her legs swinging back and forth in the air, looking as if she were about to grow mushrooms from boredom.

Nearby, Moonlight was splayed on the ground like a melted white rice cake.

Raylo chuckled and turned to go downstairs.

”Brother!”

Lillian, with her sharp eyes, saw Raylo approaching and immediately jumped down from the tower.

”That bored?”

Raylo asked.

”I’m dying of boredom!”

Lillian complained with a pout.

”Coal Ball has picked Red Iron Castle clean. I can’t even find an interesting rock. When are we leaving?”

”We’ll leave after lunch.”

Lillian’s eyes instantly lit up.

”Really? Where are we going?”

Raylo’s gaze shifted toward the rolling hills to the southwest.

”We’re going to ’borrow’ some military funds.”

”Borrow?”

Lillian tilted her head. Sharp as she was, she immediately understood the meaning behind her brother’s words and excitedly clenched her small fists.

”Are we going robbing? I love it!”

Raylo was amused by her bluntness and reached out to ruffle her hair.

”Remember, we are righteous nobles of the Duchy. We are procuring military funds within enemy territory to end the war sooner and restore peace to the people.”

Raylo said with a straight face.

”Oh...”

Lillian drew out the sound, her expression saying, ’I get it,’ while the smile in her eyes was impossible to hide.

「Afternoon.」

The long, drawn-out sound of a Horn echoed over Red Iron Castle as the army began to assemble.

Raylo swung himself onto Baofeng’s back. The Storm Griffin King let out a high-pitched cry, rose with a beat of its wings, and kicked up a fierce gust of wind.

The army marched out of Red Iron Castle in a grand procession, turning to advance southwest.

A fifty-kilometer journey wasn’t very far.

「Dusk.」

As the army crested a few gentle hills, a peaceful and serene scene came into view.

A magnificent Monastery sat atop the hills, its white walls pure and flawless. The tops of several tall towers were inlaid with golden cross emblems.

The Monastery was surrounded by vast, neatly trimmed lawns and gardens, with a clear stream winding around it. It looked like a Peach Blossom Spring.

”The Holy Light Prayer Monastery.”

Raylo narrowed his eyes.

”What a nice place.”

Lillian came to his side.

”Brother, what are we doing here? We don’t pray to the Light Deity, do we?”

Raylo burst out laughing.

”Of course not. We’re here to help the Light Deity... clean out some of his overly wealthy servants.”

Before his laughter had even faded, the Monastery’s alarm bells were rung.

The urgent tolling shattered the valley’s tranquility.

Soon, the Monastery’s heavy main gates slowly opened, and a troop of about fifty Knights marched out in formation.

They were clad in silver-white Plate Armor, their chests also engraved with the cross emblem. Their expressions were arrogant; they were clearly the Monastery’s guards, the Church Knights.

The middle-aged Knight at their head spurred his horse forward and shouted from a hundred meters away, ”Who goes there! This is the sacred ground of the Light Holy See! Retreat at once, or face Divine Punishment!”

His voice was filled with an unquestionable authority, as if he represented the will of a deity.

Raylo couldn’t be bothered to waste words on him. He simply patted Baofeng’s neck, and the Storm Griffin King, understanding, slowly descended to the front of the formation.

”Ed.”

Raylo said.

”Here!”

”Let the Earth Dragon Knights stretch their legs.”

Raylo’s gaze swept past the Church Knights to the magnificent Monastery behind them, his tone as casual as if he were discussing the weather.

”Raze it.”

The command was simple and direct.

”ROAR!”

Without another word, the ten Earth Dragon Knights let out a unified battle cry.

The powerful hind legs of the Earth Dragons beneath them tensed, and their heavy bodies shot forward like cannonballs.

The ground shook violently as the ten iron-skinned Giant Beasts kicked up a cloud of dust, charging forward unstoppably.

The arrogance on the faces of the opposing Church Knights instantly froze, replaced by terror and disbelief.

”Engage the enemy! Shields up! For the glory of the Lord!”

The lead Knight roared himself hoarse, trying to hold the line.

But it was all in vain.

Faced with the Earth Dragons, which were like moving hills, their formation instantly fell into chaos.

BOOM!

The first Earth Dragon crashed into the Church Knights’ line.

A Knight with his shield raised was sent flying, man and Armor alike, spewing an arc of blood through the air.

This was only the beginning.

The Earth Dragon Knights were like a red-hot iron awl, effortlessly piercing the Church Knights’ fragile defensive line.

Crashing, crushing, and tearing.

The scene was a one-sided slaughter.

Lillian’s eyes shone as she watched. She hadn’t even had time to prepare a large-scale Magic spell before the battle seemed to be over.

Unwilling to be left out, she waved her Magic Staff. Several thick vines burst from the ground, precisely ensnaring a few fleeing Church Knights and hoisting them upside down in the air, which drew a peal of clear laughter from her.

In just a few minutes, the fifty Church Knights had been scattered and broken, completely losing their ability to resist.

Inside the Monastery, the Monks who had been praying screamed and scattered like a disturbed hornets’ nest.

Raylo’s army then flooded in, quickly taking control of the entire Monastery.

”Reporting to the Lord, all resistance has been eliminated.”

Ed came to report, his Armor splattered with a few drops of blood.

Raylo nodded, dismounted, and walked straight toward the treasury deep within the Monastery.

When the heavy stone door was pushed open, everyone was stunned by the sight before them.

Golden light, a blinding golden light.

The huge basement was filled with chests of all sizes. The chests were open, revealing neatly stacked gold coins inside.

The gold coins were piled into small mountains, and beside them were countless jewels, Magical Beast Crystal Cores, and various precious Magic Materials, all emitting an alluring luster.

”My heavens...”

Even the usually calm Barrett couldn’t help but gasp.

”Coal Ball.”

Raylo called out.

The Space Young Dragon that had been following behind let out a cheerful cry and eagerly rushed in.

It stared at the room full of gold and treasures, its eyes growing wider than the gold coins themselves.

The next moment, it opened its mouth, which was completely out of proportion with its body size.

An invisible suction force was generated, and the entire treasury seemed to turn into a giant funnel.

Gold coins, jewels, Magic Scrolls, Rare Ore...

Like a bursting dam, everything turned into a multicolored torrent and was continuously sucked into Coal Ball’s mouth.

In less than fifteen minutes, a fortune that would make any Count green with envy had been completely ”eaten” by Coal Ball.
