Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 175: Chapter 146: The Beginning of the Scandal

Who would have known that before Zhou Yun even began filming, an accident suddenly happened on set.

Su Yan fell on the film set, seemingly cursed with bad luck; she struck her head right on the edge of a step, and a gash opened up, gushing blood, which was quite frightening.

She was hurriedly sent to the hospital, and the filming that was halfway done had to be paused.

Su Yan’s scenes scheduled for today were all canceled, and her upcoming scenes in the next few days would depend on her condition.

The head planner was in over their head.

But the incident was far from over. Su Yan’s agent flew over in the afternoon, skipping the hospital visit and came directly to the set to demand accountability.

In reality, the incident was recorded on camera, and Su Yan’s fall could only be blamed on her own carelessness for missing her step.

However, Su Yan’s agent was relentless, insisting it was the crew’s fault and demanded an explanation from them, as well as compensation for Su Yan.

The on-site line producer belonged to Yuehai Network and was named Wen Binglan.

He couldn’t cope with Su Yan’s agent’s pressure and even let the agent come to the filming location to cause trouble.

People in the industry actually knew Su Yan’s agent, He Ting, who is nicknamed ”He Tiegu” in the industry, known for being tough and nitpicky.

After finishing a scene, Song Chi took a water bottle from his assistant and then saw a figure appear before him.

”Song Chi! I have something I’d like to discuss with you.”

With a helpless expression, Wen Binglan followed behind He Ting and said, ”Sister Ting, as I said, Song Chi is in the middle of filming. Can’t this wait?”

He Ting immediately raised her voice, ”My Yanyan is in the hospital! You want me to wait to talk about it? If it weren’t for your carelessness, could such a thing happen to Yanyan? Do you even understand how important a face is to a female artist? What if she is left scarred?”

Wen Binglan raised his hands, but using this gesture to silence He Ting was impossible.

With a burning gaze as if flamed by fierce fire, He Ting looked at Song Chi: ”Shouldn’t you give me an explanation?”

Wen Binglan said, ”Sister Ting, we’re in the middle of shooting. If you have any issues, I’ll communicate with you on behalf of the crew. Please do not disturb the filming.”

Song Chi patted Wen Binglan on the shoulder, signaling that he didn’t need to continue.

He faced He Ting’s gaze.

There was a constant flow of people on set, with no shortage of staff.

Many people were watching this confrontation, curious about how the crew intended to resolve the issue.

Song Chi, looking at He Ting, asked, ”Sister Ting, did you just get here?”

He Ting replied, ”I came straight here after getting off the plane. Do you have any idea how shocked I was when I received the call that Su Yan was injured on set? I was terrified! I dropped all my work to come here!”

Song Chi inquired, ”Then you haven’t visited the hospital yet, have you?”

He Ting was taken aback, ”What?”

Song Chi said, ”Sister Ting, you haven’t even seen Su Yan at the hospital with your own eyes, so why are you so certain that her injury will leave a scar?”

He Ting hesitated, then defended, ”I didn’t say for sure there would be a scar, but there’s always the possibility with injuries, isn’t there? Song Chi, are you suggesting that since scarring isn’t guaranteed, you want to shirk responsibility?”

”Don’t misunderstand, I’m just surprised that you didn’t visit Su Yan at the hospital, but you’re here giving us trouble. Did you ask Su Yan herself what happened when she fell on set? Without even meeting her in person, you’ve already concluded that it’s definitely the crew’s fault?”

He Ting explained, ”Of course, I talked to her on the phone!”

Song Chi pressed, ”So, Su Yan told you that her fall was because of the crew’s mistake, and that she will be scarred?”

The rapid-fire exchange between the two came to an abrupt halt.

He Ting paused for a moment, staring at Song Chi.

”Su Yan certainly wouldn’t tell me that.”

”Just now, with the certainty in your voice, I thought the person involved had told you.” Song Chi said with a slight smile, ”Sister Ting, why don’t you first go to the hospital to see Su Yan’s condition and hear in person what happened, then discuss with the production crew who should be responsible?”

He Ting’s momentum had already faltered.

Before she left, she still emphasized, ”She was injured while filming.”

”Rest assured, we bought insurance for her before filming; she won’t be missing a cent,” Song Chi said with a reassuring tone.

He Ting left.

Wen Binglan let out a sigh of relief and said helplessly, ”Sorry, I couldn’t stop her.”

”You couldn’t stop her either. When you decided to cast her as the lead actress, you should have anticipated this,” Song Chi dropped this remark and headed over to Kang Xin’s side.

From beginning to end, Kang Xin never showed up.

At such times, there was no need for Kang Xin to step in.

This scene unfolded with Zhou Yun present.

She was there the whole time, but like many others, could only stand behind Song Chi, serving as a backdrop.

Being a backdrop did not prevent Zhou Yun from admiring him.

Faced with someone who clearly came to stir up trouble, Song Chi managed to send them away so calmly, leaving them speechless. This was more than just overpowering presence.

After people dispersed, Zhou Yun went with Song Chi to rehearse for the next scene.

Zhou Yun whispered, ”You were quite impressive just now, sent them off with just a few words.”

Song Chi said, ”There are too many things like this in the production crew.”

”Many actors get injured?”

”It’s not just about actors. Different roles getting injured, having accidents, suffering unequal treatment, all sorts of issues. You haven’t encountered extras demanding their pay, have you? I was once with a crew where the extra leaders withheld their money without promptly handing it out, leading those extras to make a scene on set and causing a whole day’s delay.”

”You’re experienced and knowledgeable.”

Song Chi said, ”The matter with Su Yan can’t be blamed on the production crew from any angle. She carelessly missed her step; we immediately took her to the hospital, treated her wound, and we had previously bought insurance for her. She won’t be missing anything she’s entitled to. He Ting is trying to use this opportunity to squeeze some preferential treatment from the production crew by making a big deal out of it.”

”Preferential treatment?” Zhou Yun asked in surprise, ”You mean financial compensation?”

”She wouldn’t care about that small amount of money, but He Ting has always wanted to get more scenes for Su Yan. They think Su Yan has too few scenes right now,” Song Chi said, ”For this, Yuehai has approached Director Kang several times. As long as Director Kang agrees, the new script will be sent over; they’ve already had the screenwriter make changes.”

Zhou Yun: ”Wow.”

As they were talking, Kang Xin came over.

”Let me tell you about the next scene...”

...

But the incident didn’t come to a smooth conclusion.

In the evening, when Zhou Yun finished work, she returned to the hotel.

Zheng Xiaojue said to Zhou Yun, ”Sister Xiao Yun, the news of Su Yan getting injured on set has hit the number one spot on the trending search.”

Zhou Yun was stunned and asked in surprise, ”It’s trending?”

”Yes, now Su Yan’s fans are accusing the production crew of being careless, even letting the artist get injured during filming,” Zheng Xiaojue said with a hesitant expression, ”Some people are also criticizing Song Chi.”

That afternoon, Zhou Yun’s scenes were rescheduled to be shot earlier.
