Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 154: Chapter 131: The Beginning of the Scandal

Zhou Yun clicked into Song Chi’s Weibo and saw that 30 minutes ago, Song Chi had posted a new Weibo saying: I have never been berated like this @Zhou Yun.

Since she was @-mentioned, Zhou Yun thought she definitely should respond. She reposted and commented: You brought this upon yourself, don’t blame this fairy for ruthlessly weeding.

In the second episode’s video, Zhou Yun also called herself a fairy several times, which Song Chi mocked and was also a segment that received notable reactions in the comments.

Many girls liked Zhou Yun calling herself a fairy, and Zhou Yun saw in the comments that after someone mocked her for having the audacity to call herself a fairy, many people were bashing that person in the comments.

On Weibo, opinions of Zhou Yun used to be unanimously hateful, disliking, and disgusted, but now there were also comments expressing surprise at how cute Zhou Yun is off-camera, noting that a beauty can be narcissistic, and that Zhou Yun is like a little girl in private.

Seeing these comments, Zhou Yun really wanted to protest. What do you mean she’s cute in private? Wasn’t she cute on camera? The outcome of a reality show is often unpredictable because it’s uncertain if the audience will like the real persona. Therefore, many companies, for the sake of stability, craft personas for their artists, encouraging them to play these proven roles on camera.

Chengqian Entertainment also crafted a few personas for Zhou Yun, such as the naturally beautiful girl-next-door. But this persona shattered in June due to Zhao Qin’s scandal.

Zhou Yun participated in this program, and Zhou Lan had suggested leaning towards the keywords elegant, beautiful, and dignified. Who knew she wouldn’t last the first day, breaking her image.

The show had been airing for less than an hour when Zhou Lan suddenly sent a collage, not sure who made it, filled with real-time comments about this episode from the internet – users from Weibo, Zhihu, Douyin, and other platforms were all saying that they switched to being fans of Zhou Yun.

Zhou Lan said: The effect this episode has had is beyond what was expected.

Zhou Yun: They’re just delighted to see me mess up, right?

The biggest highlight of this episode was that Zhou Yun’s attempt at feigning gentleness and dignity was exposed by Song Chi in a twist.

Zhou Lan: Actually, the audience now feels they’ve seen your true temperament.

Zhou Yun: I thought the production wouldn’t release these clips, wasn’t the plan to create the impression of me as beautiful and dignified?

Zhou Lan: I’ve been over at the production company these past few days, working with them on the editing. These scenes were included because I agreed to it.

Zhou Yun: You’ve been with them editing all this time?

Zhou Lan: Yes, when I saw this segment, I felt it would help the viewers see the real you, so I decided to include it in the final cut.

Zhou Yun: You’ve been working hard, thank you, Sister Lan.

Zhou Lan: Moving forward, you might have to work a bit harder.

Zhou Yun: Huh? What’s happened?

Zhou Lan: After today’s episode airs, the company will gradually resume promoting you. The partners who were cautious due to the scandal should stop hesitating after seeing today’s episode. I’ve already been negotiating with several businesses.

Zhou Yun: What about the filming crew? My daily shooting schedule is quite heavy.

Zhou Lan said: Don’t worry about that, I’ll communicate with the production team. We’ll prioritize filming; it won’t affect your regular shooting schedule. But running between two places will be tiring.

Zhou Yun: I don’t mind being tired, but Lu Yuan is rushing his filming, always pushing forward. We haven’t even been shooting for a month, and I’ve already finished a third of my scenes. I’m worried about not being able to find the time.

Zhou Lan: I’ll handle the schedule coordination. As for Lu Yuan... I heard that Yuehai Network is looking for scriptwriters to develop two spin-off movies.

Zhou Yun was surprised and asked: Spin-off movies?

Zhou Lan: Yes, because ”Eighth Heartbeat” is currently performing much better than expected, they internally believe the show will have at least a small boom, so they want to shoot two spin-off movies based on it, which will also premiere on Yuehai Network.

Zhou Yun: Does that mean in addition to the current script, I’ll have to act in a new one later?

Zhou Lan: No, I would not agree to let you act in such web movies. I heard one of the spin-offs will focus on the character Yu Yan, and the other will focus on Yin Zhou, none related to you. Lu Yuan and his team are rushing so they can film the scenes for these two spin-off movies after finishing the main shoot and then edit them into two separate movies.
