Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 110: Chapter 110: The Beginning of the Scandal

On Friday, for the show ”After the Scandal”, the crew assigned the director following Zhou Yun, Li Yuning, to meet Zhou Yun for the first time.

This program is now receiving a lot of attention online, with everyone waiting for the official release.

Li Yuning arrived at Zhou Yun’s apartment early in the morning and rang the doorbell.

Zhou Yun didn’t expect the other party to come so early.

When the doorbell rang, she was still in bed, checking her phone, planning to wash up a little later.

When she opened the door, her hair was disheveled and her face was unwashed, and she got startled by the camera.

”You guys came so early, I thought you would arrive later,” Zhou Yun stepped aside, took out shoe covers she had prepared in advance from the shoe cabinet, and said, ”Please come in.”

One follow-up director Li Yuning, two photographers, and others responsible for sound, lighting, and various roles—a total of ten people.

Because filming was happening concurrently, director Liang Tian was at Song Chi’s place.

Li Yuning felt a little embarrassed and asked, ”Did we disturb your rest?”

”No, no, I’m already awake,” Zhou Yun said.

Li Yuning said, ”You don’t have to mind us, just pretend we don’t exist. Oh, and we’re going to set up some cameras in your house later, is that okay?”

This had been communicated in advance. Zhou Yun still had some time before joining the team, and she would be staying at home these days, thus the need to film Zhou Yun’s daily life required the installment of several cameras at home.

”That’s fine, go ahead and take a seat.”

Zhou Yun went to get them bottled water.

Li Yuning noticed Zhou Yun was somewhat uneasy and said with a smile, ”Just go about your things, don’t worry about us.”

In fact, with more people in the house, Zhou Yun couldn’t just ignore their presence.

Whether it was washing her face and brushing her teeth or changing clothes, the thought of someone being outside made her not only mood-conscious but also her actions deliberately meticulous, fearing that her private, uncouth side would be caught on camera.

Zhou Yun changed into fresh clothes and came back out.

Li Yuning said to Zhou Yun, ”Let’s set up your mic.”

Zhou Yun nodded.

Someone came up to attach a mic on Zhou Yun.

”Check the sound.”

”Zhou Yun, could you please say a few words?”

”Ah, what should I say?”

”Sound is okay.”

”Okay.” Li Yuning smiled at Zhou Yun and said, ”Alright.”

Zhou Yun gave a slightly awkward smile.

At this time, Zheng Xiaojue arrived. The door had a passcode lock, which she knew, so she opened the door and came in, carrying Zhou Yun’s breakfast.

”Ah, so many people?” Zheng Xiaojue was taken aback.

”They are the crew of the ’Scandal’ show,” Zhou Yun said.

Zheng Xiaojue, with a sweet smile and sweet voice, greeted, ”Hello to all the brothers and sisters.”

At the age of eighteen, it was appropriate for her to call them brothers and sisters.

The program’s staff smiled kindly when they saw Zheng Xiaojue.

Zheng Xiaojue took out the breakfast, saying, ”Sister Xiao Yun, today’s breakfast is corn, tea eggs, and milk.”

Zhou Yun nodded and said, ”Tomorrow, please buy me douhua (tofu pudding), I feel like eating douhua.”

”Sure.” Zheng Xiaojue immediately took out her phone and noted it in her memo.

Zhou Yun sat at the dining table to eat breakfast, with a camera set up beside her.

The more Zhou Yun ate, the worse it felt, like being under supervision, even nibbling on the corn became a slow and deliberate act of chewing.

Li Yuning seemed to notice Zhou Yun’s discomfort, smiled, and asked, ”Xiao Yun, shall we have a chat?”

”Okay,” Zhou Yun responded, about to put down the half-eaten corn.

Li Yuning sat down opposite Zhou Yun and quickly waved his hand, saying, ”You keep eating, we’ll just chat casually.”

Zhou Yun nodded.

”Is this your first time on a variety show?” Li Yuning asked.

Of course, it wasn’t Zhou Yun’s first time on a variety show. She gave an embarrassed smile and said, ”It’s my first time in a variety show that captures daily life.”

In previous variety shows, she was always fully made up, wearing outfits arranged by stylists, and following the program’s sequence, Zhou Yun knew clearly what to do and what to present in front of the camera.

But this program was different.

”For previous shows, there were set segments, and I knew exactly what to do, but now I’m clueless and have no idea what to do.”

Li Yuning replied, ”It’s your first time on this kind of show, it’ll be fine after a few more days of filming. Actually, our goal is not to shoot with a specific purpose but to capture the most authentic state through documentary filming.”

Zhou Yun laughed, asking, ”Including me nibbling on corn?”

Li Yuning said, ”That’s pretty good, who hasn’t nibbled on corn?”

Zhou Yun found Li Yuning quite interesting, being very tactful in relieving the guest’s tension and awkwardness.

”I have work this afternoon.”

”Right, the same as before, just pretend we’re not here. Your agent has already communicated with the other party, what’s okay to shoot, what’s not, we’ve already reached an agreement in advance,” Li Yuning explained.

”Okay.”

After breakfast, Li Yuning said, ”Xiao Yun, the cameras are all set up now, we’re going to head down. Later when you’re about to leave, just let us know, and we’ll come back up.”

”Okay.”

Zhou Yun escorted them out, rubbed her eyes, and was about to lie down on the couch.

But looking at the cameras installed around the room, she thought, forget it, better not be too lazy.

She decided to read for a while.

It wasn’t just for show; she really loved reading novels, especially mysteries and crime thrillers.

Over half of the books on her shelf were mysteries and crime thrillers.

Zhou Yun often ordered books based on a few book bloggers she followed. As soon as she bought them, she would place them on her shelf to read when she had time.

Zhou Yun picked out the lengthy novel she’d been wanting to read, Miyuki Miyabe’s ”Solomon’s False Testimony.”

The hefty novel came in three volumes, each as thick as a brick.

Zhou Yun took the book, sat down on the couch, and was quickly engrossed. In a flash, two hours had passed.

During that time, Zhou Yun only got up to pour herself a glass of water.

Downstairs, in the recording van, several people were watching the live feed. After two hours, Zhou Yun was still curled up on the couch reading, and someone laughed, saying, ”This is good, won’t end up spending the whole morning filming her reading, will we?”

”How can you blame her, she’s a graduate of B University, an elite talent. Can you find another B University graduate in the entertainment industry? She was specifically recruited for her talents, legitimately admitted through entrance exams,” another person said. ”To be honest, instead of filming those ’all-beauty-no-brains’ types, I’d rather watch a beautiful woman quietly reading a book.”

”You may like watching it, but the audience won’t,” someone countered.

Li Yuning interjected: ”How do you know the audience won’t like it? The purpose of our program is to document life. We’re supposed to shoot material for three months and then edit it down to twelve episodes. There’s no rush, let’s just keep filming.”

”Alright.”
