Chapter 2084: Chapter 2082: The Great Elder’s Confession

When they saw the great elder, he was still unconscious and extremely weak.

”With the great elder’s strength, how could he be injured by Du Fei?” the tenth elder asked in confusion.

”It might have been a sneak attack, and the great elder’s health has been deteriorating over the years,” the fifth elder sighed and said.

The doctors brought in quickly treated the great elder, but in the end, they all shook their heads helplessly. The leading doctor said, ”The great elder’s internal injuries are too severe, we are powerless.”

”This...” The elders all became worried, except the second elder who had a gleam in his eyes. Bai Ruozhu saw this and felt that she couldn’t just let the second elder ascend to the position like this.

”Ruozhu, save the great elder please, I know you’re holding a grudge over that matter, but only by the great elder surviving can your aunt have an explanation,” Elder Su suddenly turned to Bai Ruozhu and said urgently.

The other elders looked puzzled, what grudge? What explanation?

Could it be that because the great elder captured Jiao Yunyun back to the clan years ago, it led to Bai Ruozhu’s father and mother being separated?

Those who didn’t know the truth heard this and immediately started persuading Bai Ruozhu.

”The great elder had no choice back then, it has always been the rule for the Jiuli Clan, now things have relaxed quite a bit.”

”Yes, girl, you are the Divine Doctor of Danliang Country, you must have a way to save the great elder!”

”Please help.”

”...”

Jiao Ling also looked at Bai Ruozhu, ”Ruozhu, if you can save him, please do, only with him alive can we have an explanation for myself and Lanlan.”

Bai Ruozhu took a deep breath, ”I have to check first to see if he can be saved.”

She went over to feel the great elder’s pulse, her brows quickly furrowing together.

The crowd, seeing this, felt their hearts in their throats. Naturally, the second elder’s heart was also in his throat, but his thoughts were opposite to others; he feared Bai Ruozhu would actually save the great elder, delaying his great opportunity to ascend, and with the Bai siblings gaining more fame in the clan, how could he strike then?

”How is it?” Elder Su asked urgently.

”His meridians have many old injuries, his body is severely depleted, I’m afraid it can’t be restored,” Bai Ruozhu said.

Elder Su swayed, the great elder being like a master to him, his emotions naturally were different from others.

”But his life can be preserved, just that he won’t be able to use Martial Arts in the future,” Bai Ruozhu said while pondering, this might be better as the great elder can’t continue to manage clan affairs.

”It’s good enough to preserve his life, the great elder has worried about the clan all his life, it’s time for him to have a good rest,” Elder Su said excitedly, ”Ruozhu, thank you.”

Bai Ruozhu did not bother with courtesy, had others step back a bit, and then took out silver needles to start administering Needlework to the great elder.

Because the great elder’s meridians were excessively damaged, and his inner strength still rampaging inside, Bai Ruozhu used three sets of Needlework to steady his internal condition.

Jiao Ling saw her retract the needles and quickly handed her a handkerchief, ”Wipe your sweat.”

Bai Ruozhu took the handkerchief and wiped her sweat. Don’t underestimate the three sets of needles; the entire procedure took over half an hour, and she had to maintain high concentration, leaving her extremely fatigued.

During the process, Elder Su and others didn’t dare breathe loudly, fearing interrupting Bai Ruozhu. The doctors watched keenly, and when the three sets of Needlework were done and the great elder’s complexion calmed, their gazes toward Bai Ruozhu carried more admiration.

Bai Ruozhu then gave a pill for treating internal injuries to the great elder, followed by feeding him a yellow pill to strengthen his constitution, while the red pill had to wait until his internal injuries improved before taking, otherwise it could easily lead to Qi Blood disorder.

After finishing these, she also wrote out a formula, not waiting for her to give more instructions, the doctors rushed over to gather around it and study seriously.

”How brilliant! It’s unexpected that she has such accomplishments at a young age; could it be the Immortal indeed imparted these Medical Skills?”

”I’m ashamed, we’ve been working behind closed doors, even our use of medicine is not as versatile as this younger generation.”

”Indeed, we should find opportunities to go out more, staying in the clan will not advance Medical Skills.”

The doctors lamented, while the great elder finally woke up.

”Great elder, are you all right?” Elder Su quickly went over and asked.

The great elder tried to sit up, Elder Su helped him up and placed a large cushion behind him.

”I won’t die yet; why are you all here?” the great elder said feebly.

”You didn’t know how dangerous it just was, the doctor said you were...” Elder Su paused, thinking it was ominous and skipped, ”It was Ruozhu who woke you up, but your meridians are damaged in many places, you can’t use inner strength anymore.”

The great elder glanced at Bai Ruozhu and sighed, ”It’s time for me to step down.”

The second elder’s eyes brightened, his heart couldn’t be more excited.

Bai Ruozhu gave him a cold glance, ”You need to rest more and say fewer idle words, so hurry up and tell us how you got injured.”

”It was Du Fei,” the great elder said, then glanced at the second elder, ”She came to me, claiming to have committed a grave mistake, wanting to confess and even planning to end her life to apologize. I couldn’t bear to see her end her life, so I intervened, which gave her the chance to sneak attack me.”

He spoke with disappointment, ”Du Fei is a younger generation I’ve watched grow up, but she turned out this way.”

”The Barrier has been opened,” Bai Zepei, who hadn’t spoken till now, suddenly spoke.

The great elder was attacked and then passed out, unaware of what happened afterward. Hearing this, his complexion changed drastically, reaching to feel the jade plate at his waist, but found it missing.

”Du Fei stole the Barrier control jade plate!” The great elder was anxious, coughing violently and suddenly spitting out a mouthful of blood.

”Great elder!”

”Great elder, you must take care!”

The elders rushed to advise, the second elder suddenly kneeled with a thud, ”Du Fei is Fo Family’s daughter-in-law, she committed this grave mistake, it’s my failure to manage the family strictly, requesting great elder to punish!”

Elder Su glared angrily, ”Don’t say you knew nothing! Now the great elder can’t be agitated, get out!”

Bai Ruozhu went over and pressed a few acupoints on him, also giving him calming medicine, ”He must remain calm, cannot be agitated again.”

These words were directed at Elder Su because she didn’t want to speak to the great elder.

The great elder then looked at her, then at Jiao Ling, sighed, and said, ”All these years I’ve been tormented by one thing, often unable to sleep peacefully, today let me clarify it to everyone.”

”Great elder, you should have a good rest, anything can be talked about in a couple of days,” the tenth elder said worriedly.

The great elder raised his hand to indicate them not to interrupt him.

”Years ago, before Wei Yu’s accident, he came to me, saying that during his trial he was invaded by the malicious soul from a Treasure. That person was called Gufeng, already dead for a hundred years, once killed by former clan chief Wei Aofeng. Wei Yu was constantly fighting off that malicious soul, but feared losing control one day and sought my help.”
