Chapter 2059: Chapter 2057: Unworthy of Being God’s Descendants

”Make her compensate for my Mechanical Puppet, or I won’t let her off!” Fo Lanying shouted.

The Fifth Elder’s face darkened, ”In a competition, each side is responsible for their own losses. If you fear damage to the Mechanical Puppet, you should fully protect them, not recklessly use them on impulse.”

Fo Lanying was already furious, having lost all reason. She glared at the Fifth Elder and loudly said, ”She damaged my grandpa’s Mechanical Puppet, and my grandpa won’t let her off!”

Bai Ruozhu feigned surprise, ”I’m competing with you, how come there’s a Second Elder’s Mechanical Puppet involved? Don’t pin this on me just because you lost.”

”This MechanicalMechanism Cat is my grandpa’s, can you afford to compensate for it?” Fo Lanying arrogantly shouted.

”What? You’re using the Second Elder’s Mechanical Puppet? I didn’t know that, is that even allowed?” she directed the last question to the Fifth Elder.

The Fifth Elder coughed twice, feeling more displeased with Fo Lanying; how come he never noticed this girl was so thoughtless before?

”It might be a misunderstanding, Fo Lanying lost the competition, go home to rest.” The Fifth Elder didn’t want the Second Elder to lose face, so he wanted to gloss over the matter.

At this moment, Du Fei rushed towards Fo Lanying from the stands, grabbed her arm, and said through clenched teeth, ”Daughter, let’s go home, you need some days of good rest.”

If Fo Lanying continues to cause a scene, it will only bring more shame to the Fo Family. Fo Lanying already violated the rules by using her grandpa’s, dad’s, and mom’s Mechanical Puppets for the challenge, and yet she lost so embarrassingly; if she continues, the old man will definitely be enraged.

”Mom, I...” Fo Lanying’s eyes reddened with grievance. She had never been so humiliated before; she couldn’t reconcile herself with losing to someone who grew up outside and was considered a nobody.

Du Fei shot a venomous glare at Bai Ruozhu, wishing she could tear Bai Ruozhu to pieces, but ultimately she suppressed her anger and said distressedly, ”Let’s go, we’ll talk at home.”

Bai Ruozhu originally didn’t want to argue with Fo Lanying further, as she had already given her a tough lesson, but Du Fei’s glare particularly irritated her.

”Our bet hasn’t been honored yet, right? It was Miss Fo who strongly insisted on it initially.” Bai Ruozhu said loudly.

The onlookers collectively gasped; at such a time, Bai Ruozhu dared to bring up the ”kneel and apologize” matter, not fearing that fierce woman Du Fei?

”Bai Ruozhu, show leniency when possible!” Du Fei said through clenched teeth.

Bai Ruozhu’s face turned stern, ”I just want to ask Miss Fo and Mrs. Fo, if it were me who lost now, would you not make me kneel and apologize? Yesterday Miss Fo forcibly insisted on competing against my brother, or he’d have to kneel and apologize to her. We just arrived and didn’t cause any trouble, why do we have to be forced to kneel and apologize?”

She turned to the others, ”Do you all think if it were me who lost, this kneeling apology would be spared? We’re all human, why should I have to swallow my anger, and why does Miss Fo get to act arrogantly and bully others? Isn’t the Jiuli Clan supposed to value equality? How has that changed?”

The more she spoke, the louder her voice got. They acted all high and mighty when bullying her, but when they lost, it became about ”showing leniency where possible.” If she’d lost and didn’t kneel, she would definitely be accused of being untrustworthy. Why should there be two sets of standards?

”My brother doesn’t know martial arts and made it clear to Miss Fo that he wouldn’t compete. You just pressured him to kneel and apologize. A man’s knees contain gold; why should he kneel and apologize to you? Since the rule to kneel and apologize upon losing was set by you, why can’t you follow it yourself?” Bai Ruozhu countered unyieldingly.

”How dare you!” Du Fei shouted angrily, ”What makes you, an outsider, think you can come to the Jiuli Clan and be so arrogant? Who allowed you to speak so loudly here?”

Bai Ruozhu mocked, ”It’s true I’m an outsider, but my competition with Fo Lanying was publicly known; can she renege on account just because she’s a Jiuli?”

The onlookers didn’t dare speak, but some felt pleased because the Second Elder’s family had been too arrogant over these years. They dared not voice their anger, and now Bai Ruozhu’s words had somewhat vented their frustrations.

However, quite a few were loyal to the Second Elder, and someone shouted at Bai Ruozhu, ”Outsiders shouldn’t come to the Jiuli Clan and act so arrogantly, get out!”

Many joined in, echoing the shout: ”Get out! Get out!”

Senior Elder Su’s face looked very unpleasant; he hadn’t realized the Jiuli Clan had come to this point. How is this different from the Second Elder’s one-sided rule? What about the Jiuli people’s sense of right and wrong? Their upright character, has it all been eaten by dogs?

”Everybody, shut up!” the Second Elder shouted using inner strength, and instantly everyone felt a surge of Qi Blood and quieted down.

”The Bai family is of Jiuli Bloodline. Bai Ruozhu and Bai Zepei have been authorized to participate in the trials and Enlightenment Tablet. Who said they’re outsiders? Competitions among the younger generation should follow the rules; if you’re not as skilled, admit it. I didn’t know since when did Jiuli people become sore losers!”

He glared fiercely at those who had been shouting and pointed at them, ”Aren’t you ashamed, not daring to admit defeat and wanting to drive people out? Has the Jiuli Clan now lost the ability to discern right from wrong?”

At this moment, several young people couldn’t help but shout, ”Competitions should proceed according to the rules; those who can’t accept defeat shouldn’t return to the clan, isn’t it shameful enough?”

”The Jiuli Clan are descendants of gods, but where is your Jiuli pride and honor?”

”Usually, we tolerate Fo Lanying and don’t want to argue with her, but that doesn’t mean she’s truly the best among the younger generation. If you can’t handle a single competition today, don’t expect to know us in the future!”

The ones speaking were the clan’s most outstanding young people, the foremost among them was Fen Jizhi. He had heard about Bai Ruozhu’s situation because of his uncle, Fen Jiu, but hadn’t mingled with Bai Ruozhu and the others, only watching the girls in the clan confront Bai Ruozhu, considering it just girls’ squabbles, and didn’t take it seriously.

But now, with this behavior from Fo Lanying and the Fo family, even he felt disdain and thought they were humiliating the Jiuli Clan.

No wonder once, when his father was drunk, he lamented, saying the Jiuli Clan had fallen, and if it continued like this, it would soon be abandoned by the gods. Look at those people yelling nonsense, are they still those naturally proud Jiuli people?

Fen Jizhi gritted his teeth; his goal had always been clear, which was to become an elder in the clan and, with his efforts, revive the Jiuli Clan.

Fo Lanying looked at Fen Jizhi angrily, with disappointment and frustration in her eyes, ”Fen Jizhi, are you helping her?”

Fen Jizhi lifted his chin slightly, arrogantly saying, ”I’m not helping either side, I only acknowledge justice. We Jiuli people are born with our own spirit and pride. If we can’t even tell right from wrong, then we’re not worthy of calling ourselves descendants of gods.”

These days, I’ve been out, without updating well, Mouka deeply reflects and sincerely apologizes, but I absolutely haven’t gone days without posting a Chapter. Why are there a few Book Friends saying it takes me days to post one?

Additionally, four updates in a few days for penance...
