Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 487: Chapter 489: Unscrupulous Little Dengdeng

If Bai Ruozhu knew what Jiang Yichun was thinking at the moment, she would definitely feel she was being wronged. In her past modern life, she had short hair, and after transmigrating here, she had to learn the simplest form of hair binding. She had never combed anyone else’s hair except her own, let alone the hair of a man she had never interacted with before.

Her own hair was tied behind her head, while Jiang Yichun’s was almost at the top of his head. She had genuinely no experience, plus the horse carriage was a bit shaky, how could she not pull Jiang Yichun’s hair painfully?

In the end, she was almost crying with anxiety, ”What should I do? I don’t know how to do it.”

Jiang Yichun couldn’t help but laugh at her defeatist demeanor, but his laughter was hidden behind his mask since he didn’t remove it.

”Forget it, I’ll do it myself.” Although he wanted to enjoy the process of Ruozhu combing his hair, it was just too...

Alright, this girl needs more practice in the future.

He quickly straightened his hair and re-fixed it on his head. It looked almost the same as before it was messed up. Bai Ruozhu was stunned. No wonder he could bind her hair so effortlessly. He must have been practicing on his own all the time.

Seeing her still in a daze, Jiang Yichun bent down to grab her hair, helped her re-tie it and inserted the hairpin he had given her squarely.

Bai Ruozhu felt a bit of a blush on her face. Was she really female? She couldn’t even manage her hair while men were so much handier. It was utterly demoralizing!

Jiang Yichun, on the other hand, was in a good mood. He was very pleased with his ”work”. As expected, helping her bind her hair made her look even more beautiful.

Shortly, the horse carriage came to a stop. Bai Ruozhu hurriedly gathered her chaotic emotions. She wanted to give Jiang Yichun a glare, but then she thought it was unjustifiable. It was her who had carelessly messed up his hair, how could she blame him in return?

Jiang Yichun mischievously cast her a flirtatious look and whispered in her ear, ”We’re going to meet the in-laws.”

Bai Ruozhu’s face instantly turned red again. This guy was just too naughty! He was still teasing her even when they were about to get off the carriage. Grinding her teeth, she waved her fist at him. However, her petite fist didn’t have any intimidating power and only made Jiang Yichun want to catch it and give it a playful bite.

”Master, we’ve arrived.” the coachman said from outside.

Jiang Yichun reluctantly shifted his gaze away from Bai Ruozhu, lifted the curtain, and got off the carriage.

Bai Ruozhu also rushed to adjust her mood and nervously followed him off the carriage. She couldn’t see herself in a mirror, so she had no idea if the hairstyle Jiang Yichun had styled for her differed from what she had before. If anyone found out, they would probably misinterpret it, wouldn’t they?

Fortunately, she quickly glanced at Sui Xing and noticed he didn’t seem to find anything unusual, so finally she was at ease.

She knocked on the door from the outside, and it was Fusa who opened it. When she saw the mysterious nobleman behind Ruozhu, she hurriedly opened the door, saying, ”Ruozhu has brought a guest, come in quickly.”

After saying that, she immediately walked back into the house and said to Lin Ping’er, ”Auntie, your benefactor is here!” As she said this, she winked at Lin Ping’er, ”He came back with Ruozhu.”

Seeing this, Lin Ping’er also showed delight on her face and hurriedly walked towards the door, saying, ”The benefactor is a distinguished guest, we can’t treat him poorly.”

Bai Ruozhu, with her sharp hearing, had overheard their conversation. Her heart was filled with frustration; Fusa and her mother were just too gossipy!

They welcomed Jiang Yichun into the house. Lin Ping’er said cheerfully, ”The benefactor seldom comes over, so why not stay for a meal at noon?”

Jiang Yichun’s eyes were smiling, ”Thank you Mrs. Bai, I indeed came to mooch off a meal.”

Bai Ruozhu’s mouth twitched. Could this guy be any more straightforward? He could’ve said something like it would be an honor to accept the offer.

”Will Zepei come home at noon?” Jiang Yichun asked, ”I have something to ask him.”

Upon hearing this, Lin Ping’er quickly responded, ”Yes, he will. The Study Palace is close by, he is coming home for lunch today.”

Bai Ruozhu secretly sighed with relief. Jiang Yichun was indirectly explaining why he visited the Bai Family.

”Mother, let father keep the benefactor company, I’ll make some good dishes,” Bai Ruozhu said, then she went to pick up Dengdeng. She planned to go back to her room to breastfeed him before cooking. But Dengdeng started reaching out for Jiang Yichun, yelling stubbornly, showing no intention of leaving.

Bai Ruozhu felt a pang of jealousy. As a mother, she was with him day and night and even got up in the middle of the night to feed him. Why was he so close to someone else?

Jiang Yichun started laughing, reached out to hug Dengdeng, and said, ”I’ll play with little Dengdeng.”

Bai Ruozhu muttered under her breath, ”You ungrateful little thing.” She did not believe that Dengdeng wouldn’t look for her when he got hungry. Hum!

Lin Ping’er was amazed to see all this. How come Dengdeng was so fond of the benefactor? Could it be that the child really wanted a father? Lin Ping’er felt a sourness in her heart. If Dengdeng’s biological father were still here, wouldn’t the child be happier?

However, she thought the benefactor’s figure was quite similar to Chang Sheng’s. Both were tall and slender, but the two had extremely different temperaments. Chang Sheng was honest, even a little foolish, while the benefactor always seemed aloof, making others hesitant to approach.

Jiang Yichun watched Bai Ruozhu walk away with a sense of reluctant loss. He knew he shouldn’t have mentioned mooching off a meal. Though he indeed wanted to taste her cooking, he wanted to see her more, and he was going to leave again later.

Bai Ruozhu went into the kitchen to prepare meals. Wan Caiyue and Fang Guizhi teased her a bit, and she couldn’t help but sigh. Okay, now all the women in the family were gossipy. Indeed, gossiping is infectious. She thought bitterly.

Then she made a cup of tea that helps clear away the liver-fire and benefit the eyes, carried it to Jiang Yichun, and said, ”Benefactor, please have some tea, it’s good for your current health condition.”

Jiang Yichun took the tea and thanked her, then started slowly drinking. Bai Ruozhu watched as he cradled Dengdeng with one hand. She thought to herself you little stinky, aren’t you hungry yet?

But Dengdeng only hugged Jiang Yichun’s neck tightly, nestling in his arms. He also stretched out his hand trying to drink his tea. He simply wouldn’t let Bai Ruozhu hold him.

Bai Ruozhu even purposefully swayed a bit at the side, hoping her son could remember his mother, or at least remember his mother’s milk... But Dengdeng kept snuggling with Jiang Yichun, completely ignoring her.

Wuwuwu, Bai Ruozhu was crying inwardly. Did she raise her son for nothing? He’s so ungrateful!

Thinking about this, she felt a twinge of jealousy towards Jiang Yichun and glared at him angrily. She then turned around and stomped back into the kitchen.

Seeing her enter angrily, Fang Guizhi couldn’t help but ask, ”What’s wrong with Ruozhu? Who made you angry?”

There wasn’t much to do in the kitchen at this time. Because the kitchen was warm, Fang Guizhi and Wan Caiyue sat on small stools in the kitchen doing crochet work while keeping an eye on the fire.

Wan Caiyue also looked up in concern and asked, ”What happened, little sister?”

Being questioned by her sister-in-law and best friend made Bai Ruozhu’s sourness flood out. She pouted and said, ”Don’t even get me started. That stinky little kid Dengdeng wants to run off with someone else!”

The two of them burst into laughter upon hearing this. Of course, they knew who this ”someone else” was. Everyone in the family knows how close Dengdeng is with the benefactor.
