Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 472: Chapter 474: This is How the Misunderstanding Occurred

All four of them looked nauseous, thinking how disgusting this rural woman was, still eating after sewing pork all half day long?

However, Bai Ruozhu was very proud, thinking, you want to challenge me with your skills? Wait until I force you to eat the sewn pork.

After she finished writing the Formulas for the injured guard, she looked back at the four people and almost laughed. They really had no talent, either breaking the thread or sewing uneven stitches. The female doctor was even struggling to extract the needle from the meat.

The four of them were also very frustrated. They had never encountered this suturing technique before, and men never used needles and threads, how could they adapt immediately?

One of them looked at the female doctor and said, ”You must be familiar with needlework as a woman, so you should pick it up faster, right?”

The female doctor glared at him, ”You’ve exposed my identity!”

”You exposed yourself by the way you talk, why still pretending?” responded the man in disgust.

The female doctor glared at him again and said, ”Huh, I have been studying medicine since I was a child and never touched a needle and thread. How could I be much better than you?”

All four of them sighed, remembering the smooth movements of Bai Ruozhu when she sutured. They felt helpless — it seemed simple when they watched, but when they tried it themselves, it was not the case at all. Luckily, they were sewing on pork, otherwise patients would be screaming in pain.

Bai Ruozhu picked up Dengdeng and went to have a look. The four immediately stopped talking and lost their earlier arrogance.

”You guys hurry up and practice more. Tomorrow I will teach you how to remove stitches and practice together, which is not as difficult as suturing. By the way, take the pork you’ve sewn back home, roast it and try to eat it. Notice if the meat texture has been changed by the sewing and tell me how it feels tomorrow morning,” Bai Ruozhu said, then she walked away without caring for their reactions.

”Hey, you...” the female doctor tried to prevent her from leaving, but then thought better of it. This indeed required practice.

If Bai Ruozhu stayed to point out their mistakes while they were suturing, their improvement could be faster. But who asked them to show a displeased face to Bai Ruozhu at first, and look down on her as an ignorant village woman? Bai Ruozhu decided to play the role of an ”ignorant” for a while.

Bai Ruozhu went to say goodbye to Meng Liangshen, and he asked, ”Do we need the guard to come over again tomorrow?”

”He lost too much blood and should take a good rest. I will go check on his condition tomorrow. He can come in three days to let the four of them check his wound,” Bai Ruozhu answered.

Meng Liangshen agreed with Bai Ruozhu’s careful consideration for the guard’s health, and felt that compared with the arrogant doctors, Bai Ruozhu had more medical ethics.

...

”What? You said that Bai Ruozhu went to the master’s study room? Send someone to check who she went with, what she did, and how long she stayed!” When the lady Wang Miaoshuang heard the news reported by the lower rank maid, she immediately frowned, angrily squeezing the handkerchief in her hand into a ball, and the depicted peony flower was all wrinkled.

The lower rank maids rushed to investigate. It was not surprising that Wang Miaoshuang lost her temper. Since Meng Liangshen had been assigned to Beiyu City, no women, including Wang Miaoshuang herself, were allowed into Meng Liangshen’s study room since the Meng family moved into the residence.

Of course, Meng Liangshen didn’t even allow his own brothers in either. His study room had always been a forbidden land in his residence.

Therefore, this time the identities of the four doctors needed to be confidential, supplemented by the secrecy of the suturing technique, Meng Liangshen chose his safest study room, not expecting that it would cause the women in the house to start speculating.

After a long time, the maids came to report, ”My lady, we cannot find out what she was doing. The master’s study room’s guards are strict, and no one can get in.”

”Then bribe a guard to find out, has anyone come out yet?” With a cup of Pu’er tea in her hand, Wang Miaoshuang had calmed down and was leisurely sitting by the table.

The nanny on the side was afraid that the lady would ask about this, and she nervously lowered her head, ”Replying to the lady, no one... no one has come out yet, except for a guard who brought in a baby crib.”

With a ’pap’ sound, the teacup in Wang Miaoshuang’s hand shattered on the floor. Tea splashed out and sprinkled onto the nanny’s face. She didn’t dare to move or wipe it off for fear of angering the lady.

Wang Miaoshuang took a deep breath, ”Send someone to observe, and immediately report to me when someone comes out!”

She couldn’t lose her composure because of such a trivial character. She was the lady of the Meng Residence, and also a county princess appointed by the former emperor. How could she be upset by a village woman?

But the longer she waited, the more restless she grew. Finally, a maid came to report that Bai Ruozhu had come out of the study room carrying a baby and headed for the old lady’s Leisure Residence.

There was a fire of fury in Wang Miaoshuang’s eyes. Good for the old lady, she was actually helping that wild woman!

”My lady, shall we go to visit the old lady?” the nanny by Wang Miaoshuang’s side asked timidly.

Wang Miaoshuang thought for a while and coldly said: ”No need for now. So as not to overvalue her. Let’s just wait and see.”

Bai Ruozhu on the other side was unaware that she had become a thorn in the eye of Lady Wang Miaoshuang, the head of the household in the Meng family. She carried Dengdeng back to the Leisure Residence, chatted with the old lady for a while, and imparted some knowledge about health maintenance. She also massaged the old lady’s head acupuncture points.

”Old lady, your eyes are a bit presbyopic. Pressing like this every day can prevent the condition from worsening. You should also try to get some sunlight and enjoy the scenery outside when you’re free.” As Bai Ruozhu was massaging the old lady’s acupuncture points, she gave advice.

Nanny Lu on the side was worried and asked: ”Can it be completely cured?”

Bai Ruozhu shook her head, ”I’m sorry, I am beyond my ability, I can only try to ease the condition.”

The old lady of the Meng Family patted Nanny Lu’s hand, saying, ”Well, when one gets old, it’s already good that the vision is just a bit blurred. Don’t be too greedy.”

Bai Ruozhu admired her optimistic state of mind since she could think like this.

That day, Bai Ruozhu chatted with the old lady and took a nap with Dengdeng. Time soon came to the early next morning. She was planning to quickly finish teaching the four doctors so she could talk to the old lady, and then return home.

To be honest, after only two or three days of not returning home, she was already worried about her family.

As usual, she got up early to greet the old lady, and the old lady happily had a conversation with her. When she was about to leave, a maid outside relayed a message, ”Old lady, the eldest and the second young ladies have come to greet you.”

Bai Ruozhu slightly raised an eyebrow. She knew the timing of the greetings in the Meng family. These little ladies and little masters didn’t usually arrive too early. Today someone came sooner, which was simple but unusual, wasn’t it?
