Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 476: Chapter 478: As Soon As She Entered, She Became the Noble Concubine

Bai Ruozhu, seeing both of them in shock, couldn’t help but want to laugh. ”Alright, I will ask your master to reimburse you, and he should be held responsible since it was his wife who caused the injuries.”

Over in the courtyard, Wang Miaoshuang had been throwing a fit for a while already, shouting at Ling Shan, ”If you have the guts, come over here! Don’t hide in the shadows! Are you so afraid of being seen?”

If it hadn’t been for the persuasion of the other three doctors, the female doctor called Ling Shan would’ve already jumped on her.

Finally, Meng Liangshen, unable to bear it any longer, ordered the guards, ”Take Mrs. Doctor away! All the old women and maids present, sentence them to twenty lashes, and then sell them out of the Residence!”

Wang Miaoshuang was shocked, ”You dare to order the guards to touch me? I will go to the Capital and seek justice from the Emperor!”

Meng Liangshen’s eyes reveal a murderous intent, ”Go ahead, let’s see how the Emperor will deal with you!” He didn’t want a wife like this either. It would be fine if the Emperor granted him a divorce or a separation!

Shaken by his words, Wang Miaoshuang had a vague feeling that something was wrong. In the time she was lost in thought, the guards had tied up her maids and nannies and were pushing her out of the yard.

”Bastards, don’t touch me!” Wang Miaoshuang shouted, but it was in vain. The guards only follow Meng Liangshen’s orders, and given her previous underhanded tactics against them, the rest of the people were already displeased with her. How could they be cordial this time?

Once Wang Miaoshuang was taken away and the maids and nannies were also ejected from the yard, many voices begged for mercy from the Boss, but Meng Liangshen didn’t even spare them a glance. He coldly ordered, ”All of you are accomplices to evil, dare to make another sound and you’ll receive an additional twenty lashes!”

For a moment, everyone fell silent, as if they dared not even breathe.

Once the yard was cleared, Ling Shan inflated with anger spoke to Meng Liangshen, ”Master Meng, although I am a female doctor, I too have my dignity. Mrs. Meng’s words were too excessive. I can set this aside out of respect for you, but I do not wish for there to be a next time. Otherwise, I will not consider her status.”

Meng Liangshen’s eyes narrowed a bit. He did not like being threatened. However, he was also aware that Wang Miaoshuang had gone too far and that anyone who dared to confront him like this must have an extraordinary identity and background.

What kind of people had the Emperor sent? He really couldn’t figure it out.

Bai Ruozhu came out from the back and announced, ”I have treated the injured guard. He’s alright, but I’m afraid his face may be scarred.”

Master Meng nodded with a sense of guilt, ”I appreciate your help, Doctor Bai.”

Upon seeing Bai Ruozhu’s arrival, the four remembered that they were here to practice suturing techniques. So, they resumed stitching up the pork, as if nothing had happened.

Bai Ruozhu raised an eyebrow, a smile playing at her lips. Then, she bowed to Meng Liangshen, ”That will be all for today. I must take my leave and will be back tomorrow morning.”

”Wait!” The head doctor called out, ”Didn’t you say you were going to teach us how to remove stitches today?”

”If you can’t even suture properly, how are you going to remove stitches? Keep practicing.” Bai Ruozhu let out a scornful smile. Her message was clear: She had expected them to make progress today, but evidently, they were not up to par, therefore the lesson had to be postponed.

Only after Bai Ruozhu left, did the four grind their teeth in frustration. They were all acclaimed in the field of medicine. Even if they lacked the experience of older doctors, they had never been subjected to such humiliation.

Meng Liangshen escorted Bai Ruozhu out of the yard, apologizing, ”Doctor Bai, with your intelligence, you probably know what’s happening.”

Bai Ruozhu nodded, ”I do know, but it’s your family matter. I’m not in a position to comment. You can handle it.”

Meng Liangshen gave a wry smile. The younger generation really knew how to pull rank. Bai Ruozhu’s message was clear: Handle it, so that the lady doctor won’t cause any more trouble.

Before Bai Ruozhu had returned to her residence, news of Lady Doctor causing a scene in the study had spread throughout Meng Residence. Naturally, the elderly Mistress was informed too.

The elderly Mistress was fuming. She turned to Nanny Lu, ”Hurry and fetch that lass. What troublemakers they are! I think I know why she came over to stir up trouble this early. She must have gotten the wrong idea.”

Nanny Lu dared not discuss her mistress openly, but she couldn’t help but wonder how the Lady Doctor could have thought in that direction.

Sigh, all considering, it was because of the Lady Doctor and the Master’s failing relationship. Otherwise, why not ask the Master directly? Was there a need to make such a fuss?

Whether by coincidence or not, the elderly Mistress seemed to be thinking along the same lines as Nanny Lu. She sighed, ”Madam has become too accustomed to having her way. If she didn’t constantly rely on the late Empress Dowager’s favor and the title of Princess given by the late Emperor, she and the Boss wouldn’t be having so much tension.”

By the time Nanny Lu was halfway to her destination, she crossed paths with Bai Ruozhu carrying Dengdeng on her way back. Not far away, a group of maids and old ladies were secretly watching her, seemingly whispering about something.

Nanny Lu’s face sterned. The mansion was becoming increasingly chaotic. Even the servants dared to brazenly gossip about guests. It was time for a thorough clean-up.

”Miss Bai, the elderly mistress has instructed me to accompany you back so as not to tire you out with the child,” said Nanny Lu cheerfully.

Bai Ruozhu understood that the elderly Mistress had sent Nanny Lu out of a fear that she might be wronged. She flashed a grateful smile, ”I truly appreciate your efforts, Nanny Lu. Let us hurry and see the elderly mistress to relieve her worries.”

Soon, Bai Ruozhu returned to the residence. Upon seeing her, the elderly Mistress did not ask many questions but merely said, ”Don’t take it to heart. You are my guest, and I will handle this matter for you.”

”Elderly Mistress, please do not say such things. It was not a big issue, and it shouldn’t make you uncomfortable,” Bai Ruozhu replied. ”I’ve been here for three days, my family must be worried. I shall return home later.”

The elderly Mistress’ face fell slightly, ”Ruozhu, you won’t distance yourself from me because of this, will you?”

With Dengdeng in one arm and her other arm around the elderly Mistress’, Bai Ruozhu reassured, ”What does this have to do with us? I was already planning to go home. I will visit you again after a few days.”

The elderly Mistress heaved a sigh of relief on hearing her words. Truth be told, she was quite fond of Bai Ruozhu. At her age, her life was comfortable enough without needing to feign liking someone or manipulate anything.

”Alright, I’ll have someone escort you home,” the elderly Mistress spoke.

Shortly after, Bai Ruozhu’s departure spread throughout the mansion sparking various versions of rumors. Some people claimed that Mrs. Doctor caught the lady doctor in an adulterous act in the Master’s study, and the dishonourable lady doctor was then immediately ousted from Meng Residence. Others claimed that the Master was innocent and that Mrs. Doctor had brought this humiliation upon herself.

There were even more rumors stating that Bai Ruozhu had seduced the Master and that her departure was a mere visit home before her wedding. Given Bai Ruozhu’s beauty, her degree of favor, and her handsome younger brother, there were even whispers that she could potentially enter the residence as a high-ranked concubine!
