Chapter 394: Chapter 394 I’ll Tell You Everything

Seeing Bai Ruozhu’s hesitation, Yu Hongxiu couldn’t hide the awkwardness on her face, and quickly stepped forward to grasp Bai Ruozhu’s arm, saying, ”Fuling is here this time on her mother’s orders to stay for a few days, she was just saying how she wanted to apologize to you.”

Bai Ruozhu silently curled her lips. Wasn’t last time also supposed to be on her mother’s orders to visit Du Zhongshu? Why has she really come this time?

Of course, all these thoughts were just in Bai Ruozhu’s mind; if she were to say them out loud now, it would put Yu Hongxiu in a difficult position. After all, due to the relationship between the Xie Residence, the Du Family, and the Governor of the Anxi Residence, they couldn’t just kick Fuling out.

Speaking of which, this mansion was actually given by the Du Family. When Mr. Xie announced that a family member would come to conduct business in Anyuan Town, they were worried that it would interfere with his studies, so they asked the Governor of the Anxi Residence to arrange classes for him. As soon as Mr. Xie arrived in Anyuan Town, the Du Family presented this mansion to him.

With a blushed face, Fuling glanced at Yu Hongxiu and then towards Bai Ruozhu, saying, ”Sister Ruozhu, my mother has scolded me terribly over these past few days for my reckless behavior and my tendency to get stuck in trivial disputes. Now I truly understand my mistakes, and I regret being rude to you in the past. I sincerely apologize to you, can you forgive me?”

As Fuling spoke, she was very cautious as well as remorseful. She appeared to be sincere and seemed as if she wasn’t faking it at all.

Bai Ruozhu was quite startled by the turn of events. How had Fuling changed so drastically after being, home for just a few days? She was almost a completely different person. Not only had her temper changed, but she also seemed to have become more delicate and charming. Together with her originally attractive appearance, it was very easy for others to let go of the girl’s past ignorance.

There is a saying, ”One should not slap a smiling face.” Now that Fuling had sincerely apologized, even for the sake of Xie Residence’s face, Bai Ruozhu couldn’t cause trouble for her. At the very least, she should behave courteously on the surface, otherwise, she would appear petty.

She smiled at Fuling and said, ”You’re making it sound more serious than it actually is. We’re all young girls who can’t help but bicker and fight. Who could hold onto such trivial things?”

Fuling displayed a surprised yet ecstatic expression and gratefully looked at Bai Ruozhu. She said, ”I’m glad you’re willing to forgive me, Sister Ruozhu. I’ll be staying in Anyuan Town for a few more days, and I’d like to invite you and Sister Hongxiu to view the blooming plum blossoms with me. How does that sound?”

Bai Ruozhu could not help but look at Yu Hongxiu, who nodded slightly, saying, ”We have a courtyard at home with plenty of plum blossoms. I was so bothered by her insistence that I finally agreed. Ruozhu, please accompany me.”

”Alright, then I have no choice but to accept the invitation,” Bai Ruozhu said with a smile.

No matter whether Fuling’s apology was sincere or not, Bai Ruozhu still didn’t like her deep down. Perhaps it was her intuition telling her to keep a distance from such a person, or perhaps it was due to Fuling’s inappropriate affection for Jiang Yichun, which upset her.

But since Yu Hongxiu agreed to go viewing the plum blossoms with Fuling, she was definitely going to accompany them, to keep an eye on Yu Hongxiu.

Upon hearing the acceptance, Fuling’s face lit up like a bright spring blossom. She started chattering about her journey, displaying her quick wit and vivid expressions, which even made Yu Hongxiu suppress her laughter, creating a harmonious atmosphere in the room.

When Mr. Xie entered the room with Bai Zepei and Du Zhongshu, he was met with a scene of joy and laughter. He was somewhat surprised, but Yu Hongxiu quickly exchanged glances with him, explaining that Fuling had come on the orders of Mrs. Du. But out of propriety, she did not repeat the details of Fuling’s apology to Bai Ruozhu. Instead, she mentioned that Fuling had invited her and Ruozhu to view the plum blossoms, making it clear to Mr. Xie that the three had made up.

Du Zhongshu furrowed his brows, casting an unhappy glance towards Fuling as he was not aware that Fuling would be there.

Fuling hurriedly went up to him and grabbed his sleeve, saying, ”Third Brother, I am here to visit Mrs. Xie under Mother’s orders, and to bring some lunar month gifts. I have realized my mistakes and have just now apologized to Sister Ruozhu.”

Du Zhongshu quickly looked at Bai Ruozhu. All eyes were on Bai Ruozhu, forcing her to say awkwardly, ”Fuling is too modest. There is no longevity amongst us girls, is there?”

Even as she said it, she felt slightly sick. Of course, she bore no grudge towards Fuling and would not have any reason to hate her, except for the fact that Fuling had previously forced herself on her.

At night, Jiang Yichun visited again. Bai Ruozhu was now quite accustomed to his uninvited appearances, thinking about how terrible it is to get used to such things.

She cast a sidelong glance at him, saying, ”Your female admirer is here.”

”Female admirer?” Jiang Yichun asked, puzzled. What is that?

Bai Ruozhu let out a soft chuckle, saying, ”The girl you saved, who can’t stop thinking about you.”

”Isn’t that you?” Jiang Yichun replied with a boastful smile.

Bai Ruozhu almost passed out in anger, glaring at him and saying, ”It’s Fuling, the one I mentioned before! Even though she apologized to me formally today, I just don’t buy it. If she continues to bother me, you better clear things up with her.”

Jiang Yichun was taken aback, the teasing smile on his face faded, and he awkwardly touched his nose. He muttered to himself, ”So, this is what they call an admirer.”

Bai Ruozhu gritted her teeth, saying, ”It’s the romantic debt you’ve caused. I even got hit for it, why am I so unlucky?” As she spoke, she raised her small fist in anger and struck towards him.

This time Jiang Yichun did not let her hit him. He was probably a bit distracted and instinctively grabbed her incoming fist. Once he caught it, he didn’t let go. No matter how fiercely Bai Ruozhu glared at him, he still forcefully pulled her hand open and intertwined it with his own.

Bai Ruozhu felt that she was letting him off too easily and lifted her foot to kick him. Jiang Yichun widened his eyes; this woman was too fierce, always ready to kick him. He lifted his foot to block her, pulled her hand closer in agitation, and kissed it fiercely.

The cool touch of his lips on the back of her hand caused Bai Ruozhu to start, and she instantly quieted down. At the same time, her face began to heat up. If it hadn’t been for the dim moonlight, surely her blush would have been the butt of Jiang Yichun’s jokes.

”When did I ever get into debt? The only woman I’ve ever touched is you.” Jiang Yichun’s eyes darkened slightly, and his Adam’s apple bobbed from agitation. He began to feel slightly passionate.

Bai Ruozhu blushed and didn’t want to continue their conversation, but couldn’t pull her hand away. She hung her head and said, ”Let go of my hand, what will people think if they see us?”

”I won’t let go. After all, I’m going to marry you.” Jiang Yichun spoke softly, his tone both domineering and playful.

A sweet sensation welled up in Bai Ruozhu’s heart, but she retorted, ”Just because you want to marry me, does that mean I have to marry you? Aside from your name, I hardly know anything about you!”

”As long as you’re willing to listen, I’ll tell you everything.” He pulled her forcefully into his arms.
