Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 359: Chapter 359: Watching the Show from the Courtyard

Bai Ruozhu had been overly confident due to her self-defence training from her previous life. However, she forgot that her training was only in self-defence, not in being invincible against bullets and blades.

She no longer dared to be absent-minded. From the likes of Wang Family—a lunatic that could do anything—she feared they might have harbored a true intent to kill her.

Li Family and Liu Family rushed over to pull Jin Family aside, with Li Family trying to comfort her: ”Sister-in-law, stop bothering with such a person and damaging your health over them.”

Jin Family hit the members of the Wang Family hard with a stick of firewood before she finally stopped. Angrily, she cursed, ”This woman is wicked at heart. She was after Ruozhu’s life just now.”

Li Family and Liu Family were not fully aware of what was happening during the chaos. When they heard Jin’s words, they regretted stopping her and simply kicked members of the Wang Family.

”Bitch, we should really chop off your hands and legs!” Li Family cursed.

”Your heart is so wicked, you deserve to be disowned by your husband’s family.” Even Liu Family, who seldom spoke, started cursing.

Bai Ruozhu was initially quite shaky, but seeing her three aunts stand up for her like this, she felt immediately calm. With slightly reddened eyes, she said to them, ”Thank you, my dear aunts, otherwise, I might have been in greater danger today.”

Wang Family lay on the ground, howling in pain. The Bai Family members blocked Wang Family’s mother from entering. She was so anxious that she started yelling, ”Murder! They want to kill my daughter!”

Bai Ruozhu looked at Wang Family coldly. Now was not the time to deal with her. Otherwise, it would inconvenience her three aunts. But since Wang Family had a murderous intent towards her, there was no reason for her to show mercy.

She hid her right hand inside her sleeve and, with a thought, took a bottle of medicinal liquid from her space. When no one was paying attention, she sprinkled some of it on Wang Family. The liquid was colorless and odorless and disappeared as if it had never existed.

Back in her past life, when Bai Ruozhu was learning medicine, she had learned about poisons from her grandfather. But her knowledge was only superficial. It was only after her grandfather’s death, when she was sorting out his belongings, that she came across an old medical book left by her great grandfather. The book seemed really old and was likely passed down through many generations.

She initially admired it as an antique medical book and often took it out to read. Until one day, she spilled some cola on it and accidentally discovered a secret hidden in the spine of the book—a secret poison scripture.

She studied the poison scripture meticulously, but she lived in a society ruled by law and advanced technology. Even if she encountered foreigners who wanted to harass her, she dared not use poison.

Now she was still very cautious, but no longer as soft-hearted. It was a world of survival of the fittest, where kindness can often lead to disastrous outcomes.

Of course, she didn’t kill Wang Family, which could also be considered as being merciful. A smirk appeared at the corner of Bai Ruozhu’s mouth.

Bai Ruozhu was a lot more careful this time. While she was smashing and hitting the Wang Family’s household, she also paid attention to her surroundings. Fortunately, no one got the chance to attack her again.

In the yard, only Wang Family and the old man Wang Youcai were present. The rest of the people were blocked outside by the Bai Family. After the brawl, members of the Wang Family had suffered minor injuries, and Wang Xiujun even had a black eye.

In pain, Wang Family was lying on the ground, screaming. Wang Youcai, who had taken quite a fall, was unable to get up. Adjacent to him was Wang Family’s mother, liberally shouting obscenities. If Bai Ruozhu didn’t take his age into consideration, she would have definitely given him a blow.

Subsequently, they charged into the kitchen and started smashing bowls and plates.

The sound of objects smashing echoed through the Wang Family yard. Unable to resist, the old lady from the Wang Family stomped her foot, yelling: ”If you continue to smash things, I will report this to the authorities and get you all sent to jail!”

Bai Ruozhu walked out from the kitchen, smiled at her and said, ”Well, you should go ahead. Chef Wang has been planning to report you for drugging him, causing him to lose business and reputation. Our wedding banquet was also affected by you. We can make the officer issue a compensation order for our loss and Chef Wang’s loss.”

”Also, did you really think we were not aware of the person you sent to plant a fake bug at our stall to frame us?” Bai Zehao loudly stated, as he kicked away Wang Xiujun, who was rushing towards him.

The Wang Family matriarch flinched, but quickly composed herself, saying, ”What nonsense! Don’t try to frame us with such accusation. I will now report to the government office. I refuse to believe there’s no justice in this world.”

Upon hearing this, members of the Bai Family couldn’t help but laugh. It was amusing how the Wang Family matriarch, despite her own misdeeds, still had the audacity to mention justice. Wasn’t she afraid of getting struck by lightning?

Wang Xiujun’s wife, from the Zhao Family, quickly tried to pull the matriarch away, whispering, ”Mother, don’t be impulsive. They will leave after causing a scene. They won’t harm us too badly. We should just swallow our pride and let this pass. If this goes to the authorities, we may end up getting caned again.”

The Wang Family matriarch, currently filled with rage, slapped Zhao Family’s wife upon hearing her words.

”Shameless omen! Are you trying to defend the Bai Family? Why should our Wang Family have to submit? Can’t you see your father-in-law and sister-in-law were beaten? If you’re so keen on defending the Bai Family, you can go and live with them!” The Wang Family matriarch screamed in rage.

Zhao Family’s wife covered her face in shock. She could not believe that her mother-in-law was being so unreasonable. Had everyone else in her family gone mad? Was she the only sane one left?

Last time, she advised her father-in-law, mother-in-law, and sister-in-law not to cause trouble for the Bai Family. However, they refused to listen and ended up being caned. Her husband, Wang Xiujun, almost became crippled. Now that he had just recovered, if he were to get beat up again, he might never recover.

Other people may not know, but she was well aware of the recent deeds of her mother-in-law and sister-in-law. If they went to court, they would certainly lose. She spoke out as she wanted to maintain the family’s well-being. However, she never expected to receive a slap and public humiliation from her mother-in-law in return.

Wang Xiujun, surprised by his mother’s actions, voiced his dissatisfaction, ”Mother, what are you doing? Can’t we discuss this at home? Aren’t you making us a laughing stock in front of everyone?”

Seeing that her son was siding with his wife, the matriarch grew even more furious. Shakingly, she pointed at him and said, ”Fine, forgetting your own mother after marrying a wife. I will go and report to the government office right now. If you don’t want to follow, then don’t!”

Zhao Family’s wife grabbed Wang Xiujun’s arm and declared loudly. ”If you decide to report to the government office today, let’s just get divorced right away. If you get caned again and end up disabled, I will have to serve you day and night!”

”Damn it! You ...how dare you...” Wang Xiujun looked at his wife in surprise, unsure of his own feelings.

Bai Ruozhu, having had her fill of destruction and pleasure, decided to take a break and enjoy the drama unfolding within the Wang Family courtyard. Unsurprisingly, there seemed to be at least one sensible person in the Wang Family. Sadly, both the grandmother and the grandfather of the Wang Family did not listen to her concerns.

”Xiujun, go with your mother to ring the complaint bell at the government office. Sue them and get them thrown into jail! Look at the conditions of me and your sister! Tell the officials to cane them!” Lying on the ground, Wang Youcai shouted till he was red in the face. He had taken a nasty fall and hurt his waist — feeling pain with every movement.

Zhao Family’s wife could only see her father-in-law sitting on the ground from afar as she was blocked by the Bai Family. Other villagers had told her that he tripped and fell over by himself. Even if they were to report to the government office, wouldn’t the officers conduct an investigation?
