Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 358: Chapter 358: Covered in Cold Sweat

Not far behind the collapsed main gate, a shocked Wang Family member stood. She had never thought that the Bai Family could be so fierce, actually kicking down the gate as threatened, and moreover, the Bai Family had brought so many people!

Bai Ruozhu looked at Wang’s and sneered sarcastically, ”Wang’s, you should be thanking me. If Bai Yibo hadn’t divorced you, you’d be exiled by now. The cheating scandal in Bai Yibo’s exam and those osmanthus cakes laced with croton powder that he sent to my second brother, you surely had a part in all of this, didn’t you?”

”Also, wasn’t it Bai Yibo who had a child with Widow Zhou and wanted to bring her into the family, hence forcing you to divorce him? How did that become Ruozhu’s fault? Being pregnant isn’t something that just happens overnight. Didn’t your family also accept a hundred pieces of silver from Widow Zhou? What else do you have to complain about?” Li’s, from the sidelines, chimed in.

Wang’s face still bore an expression of terror as she yelled, ”What are you trying to do? You are burglars, I will report you to the authorities!”

Bai Ruozhu laughed heartily, ”By all means, go ahead and report. Just perfect to clear up the matter of the chef whom you hired drugging our food. Perhaps if the matter gets serious enough, you could get exiled along with Bai Yibo.”

Just then, Wang’s father brandished a firewood knife and charged out, yelling, ”I’ll kill you, I’ll kill all you robbers!”

However, before he even reached the Bai Family members, he stepped on a discarded broom, slipped, and fell flat on his face, the firewood knife falling out of his grip.

An onlooker murmured from the side, ”Go inform the Boss of Wang’s Family to bring more people back.”

The Bai Family naturally heard this comment, but nobody tried to stop him. The Wang’s Family was now only comprised of an old man and a woman; they couldn’t really make a move now, so as to avoid getting framed as bullies of the old and the frail.

Wang’s cried as she rushed to help up her father, the old man hobbled to his feet only to seat himself back down on the ground while sobbing, ”Just take my old life. It’s too much bullying.”

Wang’s, stumbling to assist him asked tearfully, ”Dad, are you okay? Did they hurt you?”

Onlookers looked on with disdain; the old man fell over himself, how did it become a matter of the Bai Family hitting him? Did he not care about losing face?

Bai Ruozhu thought to herself, no wonder Wang’s acts the way she does; it’s her family’s lack of morals.

During the father-daughter commotion, Wang’s older brother, Wang Xiujun, arrived with his sister-in-law, Zhao’s. The elderly woman was absent, likely gone to fetch reinforcements.

”What are you doing? Who hit my father?” Wang Xiujun glared with his eyes wide open, ready for a fight.

The spectators, afraid that a physical conflict might break out, kindly advised, ”Your father fell over a broom by himself. You should talk it over instead of resorting to violence.”

Wang Xiujun, however, glared back at him and shouted, ”What has the Bai Family given you for you to speak such shameless words? Go be their lackey? How could my healthy father just fall over?”

The man, angry at the accusation, retorted, ”Who knows why your father fell? Isn’t it normal for your family of turtles to be unstable and fall all over by yourselves?”

Bai Ruozhu nearly laughed out loud hearing him; this man was clearly angered. The Wang Family wasn’t good at words at all.

Bai Yihong addressed Wang Xiujun, ”Stop dragging others into it. Today, us Bai’s are here to settle a score. The Wang Family surely hasn’t been short of stumbling blocks for us. Are you treating us Bai’s as if we have no one?”

Bai Yixing, having lost his patience already remarked, ”Yihong, stop wasting time with him. Let’s barge in and wreak havoc on their possessions. Let’s show them what we’ve got.”

”Who dares to wreak havoc?” A loud rebuke rang out just then, it was Wang Chen’s leading a few junior Wang’s back home.

”The Wang Family can stir up trouble, and we can’t even retaliate? Enough with the nonsense. The Bai’s keep their word. Ruozhu, all of you, go and wreck the Wang’s place. Don’t show any politeness. If anyone dares to lift a hand, don’t let them back up.” Bai Lu had a decisive manner. With a signal to Li’s, they hurriedly followed Bai Ruozhu.

”Bai old man, what business do you have with Bai Yihong’s family affairs? You’re meddling after having too much to eat, right? If you dare to lay a finger on us, it would mean offending the Wang Family. We will not let this slide!” Wang’s wife, her eyes bloodshot, wanted nothing more than to skin Bai Lu alive.

Bai Lu casually glanced at her, ”You dare to threaten me? Bai Yihong is a descendant of our Bai Family. His troubles are the family’s troubles. If you mess with him, you mess with the entire Bai Clan.”

”That’s right, Yihong is family to us. Our Bai Family will not be bullied!” Bai Yizhong joined in.

As the two of them argue, Bai Ruozhu led Li’s and a few others straight towards the items in the yard. Wang’s hurriedly tried to block them, glaring at Bai Ruozhu, ”You dare!”

Before Bai Ruozhu could respond, Li’s slapped Wang’s off to the side. Bai Ruozhu was stunned. She barely got a chance to stretch her own muscles, and Li’s was already so fierce that Bai Ruozhu didn’t even get a chance to act.

While Bai Ruozhu was lost in her thoughts, Jin’s and Liu’s began to smash the stuff in the yard. Bai Ruozhu cursed herself for being slow and rushed to pick up a piece of firewood to join the wrathful destruction.

Looking at how pleased and in their element, Li’s and the others were in their smashing spree, Bai Ruozhu wondered deeply if they had done this before. How else could they be so skilled at this?

Suddenly, a line from Li’s cleared up her doubts.

”We smashed up Widow Zhou’s house just yesterday. I even slapped her across the face twice.” Li’s boasted, ”She dared to make trouble at our Bai’s celebration. It’s fortunate we didn’t beat her to death.”

Bai Ruozhu’s mouth fell open in surprise; she suddenly felt she had been underestimating herself. The head of the family, her grandpa, was the real deal. They were ready to fight and destroy property on a whim, living life on their own terms.

After looking at Bai Yizhong and his brothers, she started contemplating that in this era, the more people one had in their family, the more powerful they were. Many siblings meant more assistance for each other. However, in her family, Dengdeng was the only seedling, what if he was wronged in the future?

No way, in a few years she’d definitely have to give Dengdeng a sibling. As for the father of the baby, of course someone with good genes should be chosen. With that thought, a cold figure involuntarily surfaced in her mind...

Suddenly, a scream pierced Bai Ruozhu’s ears, forcing her back to reality. Turning her head, she saw Wang’s crumpled at her feet while Jin’s was mercilessly beating her with a stick.

Bai Ruozhu had only met Jin’s, Bai Zeji’s mother, a few times and had never seen her like this, it gave her quite a shock. Upon closer inspection, she noticed the firewood knife in Wang’s hand. It was the same knife the old man had brandished when he had run out, aiming to chop someone.

Bai Ruozhu glanced at Wang’s position and immediately felt cold sweat trickle down her spine. Wang’s had apparently grabbed the knife intending to chop at her just now, had Jin’s not reacted in time, she would have either been gravely injured or even dead by now!
