Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 383: Chapter 383: Hiding in the Blankets, Has Mom Found Out?

In the middle of the night, Bai Ruozhu’s window was knocked upon again. She got up and opened the window, angrily staring at Jiang Yichun, questioning, ”You dare to come again?”

Jiang Yichun managed to give a bitter smile, suddenly reached out to flick her forehead, and softly complained, ”You’re so fierce, be careful or you’ll scare away suitors.”

Bai Ruozhu was irritated that someone else was flicking her forehead. One elder brother was already enough, and now here was Jiang Yichun. She almost cried out as she covered her forehead. Seeing Jiang Yichun hopping into her room, she suddenly raised her foot to step on his.

Jiang Yichun chuckled lightly. With his expertise in martial arts, how could he not evade Bai Ruozhu’s rudimentary ”Stepping on Feet Divine Skill”? But he did not move, allowing her to step on his foot, and even twisted his foot under hers.

Seeing her diligently stepping on his foot with gritted teeth, Jiang Yichun laughingly said, ”Look at you, such a merciless woman. I let you step on me but not an ounce of sympathy from you, is there?”

”Who asked you to give way?” Bai Ruozhu glanced at him, then raised her chin to say, ”Even if I’m fierce, I won’t have trouble getting married. Don’t you see how Brother Minglu cares for me?”

Upon saying this, Bai Ruozhu felt a bit smug. A woman who is pursued surely has charm, doesn’t she?

Hearing this, Jiang Yichun was instantly irritated, and he grabbed Bai Ruozhu, threatening her, ”You dare to mention other men, be careful or I’ll punish you!”

He was about to kiss her, and Bai Ruozhu, immediately recalling the swelling of her lips after his kiss, quickly covered her mouth with her hands and gave him a guarded look, saying, ”What are you trying to do? I’m warning you not to mess around; otherwise, I won’t spare you!”

Jiang Yichun merely chuckled. ”Stop mentioning him, and I will let you off the hook.”

Bai Ruozhu rolled her eyes. No good man suffers a present ill, so she said through gritted teeth, ”Fine, I won’t mention him.”

Jiang Yichun was delighted and released her. However, seeing how shrewd she was, he wasn’t happy, but he just couldn’t muster any real anger towards her.

Thinking of him allowing her to step on his foot earlier, Bai Ruozhu felt bubbly inside and couldn’t help smiling a bit.

Him seeing her in such high spirits made him a bit dazed. He couldn’t resist leaning down to peck her cheek lightly.

Bai Ruozhu’s face turned bright red instantly. She subconsciously touched her cheek, feeling a bit of cold and softness there. The sensation didn’t last but it lingered in her mind.

She forced down her shyness, stared at him, and said, ”You broke your promise, you said you wouldn’t kiss me!” But her blushing face and her lack of fierceness while staring, added to her charm, making Jiang Yichun’s heart flutter even more.

”I never said that I wouldn’t kiss you, I only stated I would spare you once. Who said there wouldn’t be a next chance?” Jiang Yichun began to laugh, not finding his actions shameless at all.

His laughter was too alluring. Bai Ruozhu quickly turned around to avoid being swayed by his charm, and to prevent him from taking advantage of her.

Just as she turned, he quickly pulled her back onto the bed, promptly covering them both with the quilt.

Bai Ruozhu was taken aback. What was he trying to do? Why was he suddenly dragging her into bed? That was too direct, wasn’t it? She was just about to verbally attack him when his slightly cold hand covered her mouth.

Next, she didn’t know how he managed it, but a soft sound indicated that something had hit the open window, causing it to slowly close.

The moonlight that was shining in from the window was blocked, causing the room to plunge into darkness. It was quiet, she felt like she could hear their heartbeats.

Before she could react or ask a question, footsteps could be heard outside the room. Her heart jumped to her throat. No wonder he had pulled her onto the bed, someone in the house had woken up!

Bai Ruozhu felt her heart hammering in her chest, as if it were about to jump out of her throat. She was afraid of being discovered. Not that they would find her unvirtuous, but she felt like a girl with her first boyfriend, scared of being caught by her parents, filled with a mix of emotive shyness, and fear.

Jiang Yichun was holding her waist firmly with one hand and covering her mouth with the other. Both people were closely huddled under the quilt, in a rather ambiguous position.

At that moment, he tightened his arm around her waist, pushing her closer to his body. Annoyed, Bai Ruozhu stared wide-eyed at him. His hand laid on her cheek and gently touched her eye before he released her and retreated back under the quilt.

Bai Ruozhu quickly understood his hint; he was ducking under the blanket and she was to pretend to be asleep.

As the footsteps grew closer, she quickly closed eyes. Soon after, the bedroom door creaked open, and someone from her household entered the room. Bai Ruozhu’s heart pounded wildly. She had an afterthought. This guy is known for his quick reflexes and great lightness skill, right? Why didn’t he escape from the window just now? Why did he hide in her bed? Wasn’t he afraid of being discovered?

She desperately wanted to kick Jiang Yichun out of the bed, give him a good thrashing, and then force him to kneel and sing ”Conquer”. This guy was just asking for trouble, always stirring up problems!

She didn’t know who was standing at the door, but in any case, she didn’t want to be discovered. It would be so embarrassing, she could crawl into a hole. Sharing a bed with a man at this late hour, who would believe her if she said nothing happened?

At last, the person by the door moved. It seemed like they took a step into the room, murmured something, and stepped back, ”Thought I heard some noise, but these gals are fast asleep.”

Bai Ruozhu’s heart clenched. It was her mother speaking, her mother must have woken up because something was bothering her, perhaps she vaguely heard her and Jiang Yichun talking? With that in mind, she angrily pinched Jiang Yichun under the quilt.

Jiang Yichun winced in pain, but could only bear it. He wrapped his arm around her even tighter. Even though Bai Ruozhu heard her mother close the door again, she was worried about being exposed so she had no choice but to let go of him.

Finally, Lin Ping’er closed the door and her footsteps gradually faded away as she went back to sleep.

Despite this, Bai Ruozhu was still anxious, always fearing that her mother had discovered something. In fact, Lin Ping’er had merely had trouble sleeping and thought Bai Ruozhu was also awake, wanting to have a quiet chat.

Unfortunately, Bai Ruozhu was getting worked up over nothing. She remained extremely tense for a while, not daring to move an inch. Jiang Yichun took the opportunity to inch closer under the quilt, but she didn’t resist, not because she was being submissive but because she was too focused on whether her mother had discovered anything, and what explanation she should give if her mother suspected something.
