Affinity: Chaos

Chapter 1661  Impressive Performance

Grey watched as sparks flew as his mother and grandfather locked eyes, it was as if they were about to destroy each other at the slightest opportunity. He couldnʼt let them continue in this manner and said, ”I told her to come with me, itʼs my first time here, after all.”

”Good, youʼre here, she can leave now.” Greyʼs grandfather didnʼt want to entertain his stubborn daughter, she took Cori away from him after he had gotten used to her, so he was holding a new grudge. ”Grandfather, why donʼt you let her stay while Iʼm here, I like traveling with her.” Grey could only step in to diffuse the bomb, which was the relationship between father and daughter. Martha snorted, not impressed by her fatherʼs words. ”Martha, your manners.” Greyʼs grandmother said in a soft and playful voice, but Martha immediately stopped showing her animosity towards her father. Greyʼs grandfather didnʼt speak any further to her, he turned his attention to Grey, ”I heard youʼre proficient with inscriptions, correct!”

Grey nodded to his grandfatherʼs words.

”Come with me.”

Greyʼs grandfather stood up with his hands behind his back as he left the Hall. Grey and the others in the Hall followed behind him. He noticed that his mother and grandmotherʼs relationship was good, but his mother seems to have a problem with her father. He decided to try to figure out what the problem was and why his mother held her father in such contempt. The Lyttelton Family arena. Grey was taken aback when he saw the arena before him, he didnʼt expect that the Lyttelton Family would have an arena of their own. He could guess what his grandfather wanted since he told him to come with him and this was the place he took him to. ”Youʼre already in the Fifth stage, on the way to becoming a Sixth stage Sovereign. I would like to know your strength, and also how well you do when placed in a difficult battle.” Greyʼs grandfather looked at him and added with a soft smile, ”I hear youʼre stronger than those in the same stage as yourself, so youʼll be fighting two Fifth stage Sovereigns then.” ”Oh.” Grey didnʼt have any visible reactions to his grandfatherʼs words, this isnʼt the first time he has been placed in such a position. In fact, he even prefers fighting in such a position than fighting one versus one battles. With multiple opponents, he has the chance to use his space element to the fullest, and since the opponents wouldnʼt really be much of a fight for him individually, he will be able to unleash a good amount of his strength against two people. He has fought against a Crocodile that is stronger than a regular Sixth stage Sovereign before, so he knows that against a single Fifth stage Sovereign, he was vastly superior.

He didnʼt argue with his grandfatherʼs words, waking up to the platform in the arena, he looked at his grandfather as if asking; Where are they?

His grandfather was pleased with this and waved his hand, two Elders in the Fifth stage of the Sovereign Plane appeared on the platform. One has to know that, from the Peak of the Venerable Plane, one is already entitled to being an Elder in most top Factions and Families. Even a Peak Venerable is enough to open a Faction, of course itʼs nowhere near the level of these top Factions and Families, but compared to most of the Factions in the Continent, they would still be a powerful force. Sovereigns arenʼt easy to come by, a single Family or Faction having more than thirty Sovereigns can already be called lucky. Take the Pyrmond Faction for instance, including Grey, there are only fifteen Sovereigns. At the moment, Grey is stronger than more than half of the Sovereigns in the Faction. Most of the Factions and Families in the Aurora Continent arenʼt really different from this. Grey looked at the two Elders standing before him, he didnʼt feel any form of pressure from them. A few months ago, standing in front of people like this, he wouldʼve been helpless, but now, he had no fear even when faced with two of such opponents.

”Go!”

His grandfatherʼs words prepared him for the battle that was coming. Grey made a move, at the same time the duo made their moves as well. They both used the water element, from what Grey knew, the Lyttelton Family were known for being expert Water Elementalists, their use of the ice ability of the water element is also rated very high, Iʼm the top three forces using the water element in the Continent. Grey also had the water element, but compared to them, he felt he was a bit lacking. Klaus is better than they are, but Grey is inferior to them. The duoʼs attack clashed with Greyʼs blue flames

Boom! The attack shook the platform, both parties werenʼt forced back from the impact of the attack. Rather, they both advanced, and attacked without restraint. The two Elders were fighting with everything they had, they were summoned by the Family Head and ordered to fight like their lives depended on it, so even though they knew they were in the Family arena, they still treated Grey like he was the enemy and were prepared to kill him. Boom! Bang! Grey was forced to retreat under the duoʼs combined attack. ʼThese guys are strong.ʼ He commented internally. He brought out his earth element, and blocked the ice shards sent his way, while also ensuring that his fire balls didnʼt miss.

Boom! The duo blocked the fire balls, even though they almost broke through their ice walls, they were able to stop it. Now they understood the difference in attack power between them and Grey, even though they could force him to stop, if he attacked freely, they were not his match. The duo exchanged glances and came to a decision, they wouldnʼt give Grey the opportunity he needed to get the advantage. Since attacking freely makes him a threat, it was time to make sure he wasnʼt able to do that. The duo werenʼt standing together, and were attacking ferociously. Grey was caught in their attacks, but he was calm and composed, his earth element went to work, increasing his defenses. The earth dome around him showed cracks, and shattered. The attacks of the duo didnʼt stop, rather, it intensified. They felt like the opportunity to take Grey down had come and they wanted to use it. Grey looked at the attacks, he wasnʼt bothered, as relaxed as he could be, he blocked these attacks coming his way as he retreated. Sensing that he was at the edge of the platform, he unleashed his inscription. The large array appeared in the sky and attacked. The duo paused their movements, and without delay, they too used an inscription. When Grey saw them, it was as if his eyes wanted to bulge out. Their inscription, unlike his own, wasnʼt in the air, rather, it was on their wrists like large bracelets. One of them had a double inscription, while the other had just one inscription on his wrist . The inscription in the wrists of the duo easily destroyed his inscription, while also sending out a powerful ice dragon at him. This was the first time he was seeing anyone use inscriptions to create attacks like these, he had always felt inscriptions were used for the most basic attacks like ice spears, or arrows and shards, but to his shock, an entire dragon made from ice not only appeared before him, but it was also very powerful. Looking at the situation, he couldnʼt help but feel like he was still far behind. One has to know that this was all the doing of just one of them, and it was the one with a single array around his wrist, the other one who had a double array on his wrist, hasnʼt attacked yet. Grey made use of his earth element to hold down the ice dragon. He tried to crush it with the strength of his earth elemental binding technique, but the ice dragon was so strong that although cracks appeared, he was unable to break through it. The second Elder attacked at this time, a small flying bug appeared and flew Greyʼs direction. When Grey sensed the bug, it was already very close to him, and the threat he felt from it was life-threatening. With Greyʼs current strength, unless something could one-shot him, he would barely sense these attacks since they werenʼt life-threatening. This attack is something that he knew that as long as it struck him, he would be in trouble. Boom! Bam! Bang! Grey reacted quickly, using his space element, he struck out. At the moment, he has used his fire, earth, and space element to battle the trio, and none of them has been able to get the advantage in the battle. On the side. ”Impressive.” Greyʼs grandfather was already impressed with what he has shown so far.
