Rebirth: General, Don't Mess Around!

After five days of rest, although she had been flying around, Ye Jian was still energetic. After recuperation, even the tri-colored skin on her face had turned paler and lighter. With a little makeup, she was still the school belle.

When Ye Jian arrived at the school, she sent a message to Mr. Fu saying that she had arrived safely. Then, she received a message from Song Zhiqiu. He informed her that the students from the school would gather at the conference room on the fifth floor of Teaching Building No. 4 to participate in the pre-training meeting. It could be considered a meeting for the students.

It was already 12:40 pm when she arrived at the airport. Ye Jian saw that time was tight and gave up on taking the bus. She hurriedly ran to the parking lot to take a taxi back to school.

She was only ten minutes away from the designated meeting time when she arrived at the school. She didn’t even have time to put her luggage back in her dormitory. She ran all the way to Teaching Building No. 4.

She sprinted almost the entire time, afraid that she would be late.

To a soldier, being late was an unforgivable mistake. It was an absolutely unforgivable mistake. Ye Jian had been in the military for many years and had never been late.

In the conference room, Song Zhiqiu looked at his watch a few times. From time to time, he would look up at the door of the conference room. He didn’t show it on his face, but he was actually anxious.

This wasn’t a casual meeting. Besides the leaders of the department, there were also the leaders of the school. There were as many as five high-ranking leaders in school like Commissar Yue!

If Ye Jian was late, she would leave a bad impression on the leaders. Song Zhiqiu was very worried that it would affect Ye Jian’s graduation.

Ye Jian, who was running under the scorching sun, didn’t think about the future consequences. She just thought that she mustn’t be late. Ye Jian ran up to the fifth floor like a shadow and looked at the time. There were still two minutes left. She rushed to the bathroom and changed into the summer military uniform. Then, she rushed into the conference room within 30 seconds.

Song Zhiqiu heard footsteps outside. After all, they had been classmates for three years. The moment he heard the footsteps, Song Zhiqiu couldn’t help but close his eyes slightly and exhale softly.

At two o’clock sharp, Ye Jian arrived at the conference room. The conference room was filled with third-year students. There were 35 of them in total. They were all in charge of training students outside the school for ten days starting tomorrow. When they saw Ye Jian enter, 35 gazes landed on the door.

Ye Jian…

For some reason, everyone secretly adjusted their breathing. Even their backs stiffened slightly. They were even straighter than before Ye Jian came. The atmosphere seemed a little tense.

Everyone wanted to come in first, even if it was an out-of-school training. However, with a powerful person added to the mix, it would be difficult to compete with her. It would indeed make the other members nervous and pressured.

”Ye Jian.”

Song Zhiqiu smiled and called out to her. He was in the same class as Ye Jian. Song Zhiqiu, who arrived earlier, left an empty seat for Ye Jian.

Ye Jian smiled and sat down. She apologized softly, ”Thank you. Fortunately, I saw your message when I got off the plane. If not, I would’ve been late.”

”I was worried too. Fortunately, you arrived in time. Look, you’re sweating.” Song Zhiqiu pretended to raise his hand to wipe the non-existent cold sweat on his forehead. As he spoke softly, the worry in his heart slowly dissipated. ”The dean told me a few days ago that you had already returned to school, but you rushed back to the capital city in the afternoon. When I received the notice at 11:00 am, I contacted you immediately. Your cell phone was turned off, so I guessed you were on the plane.

”Fortunately, it was a morning flight. If it had been a later flight, you would’ve been late and considered absent.”
