Rebirth: General, Don't Mess Around!

Mr. Fu was a scholar. Even though he had been serving in a missile base in the northwest, he was still a scholar in his military uniform. He was a refined and strict scholar. Due to work reasons, he was also a strict person. He rarely revealed his emotions.

However, in front of his daughter, whom he had not seen for hundreds of days and nights, Mr. Fu was very excited.

His daughter was his spiritual support for the rest of his life. She was also the pillar of support for Old Master Fu’s health. If she was fine, everything in the family was fine. He only hoped that his only descendant would always be fine.

As he answered Ye Jian’s question, Mr. Fu sized up his daughter carefully. Before he could answer all the questions, he asked with heartache, ”Why did you lose so much weight? Is it because you’re under too much pressure? Or did you encounter some difficulties? You’re so skinny that you don’t have much flesh on your face. You haven’t been taking good care of yourself.”

As he spoke, he rubbed his fingers against Ye Jian’s face that was covered with makeup. As expected, Mr. Fu’s thumb was stained with foundation, revealing the tanned skin that Ye Jian wanted to hide.

Mr. Fu looked at his thumb and then at the spot on Ye Jian’s face that was tanned. With the contrast of the foundation, the exposed spot appeared darker.

”You…” Mr. Fu, who understood the situation, sighed heavily. His kind eyes were filled with deep heartache. ”No wonder you’ve lost so much weight. You’re even darker than the sentinels standing guard in the northwest. When we go back, I have to nourish you.”

Ye Jian couldn’t help but laugh when she heard that she was darker than the sentinels standing guard in the Northwest. ”Dad, stop rubbing my face. In order to conceal the tan lines on my face, I learned how to apply foundation. If you keep doing it, I’ll hide in my room for the next few days.”

”Don’t apply too much on your face. A lot of these things are made using harmful substances. I’ll contact an alternative doctor later and see if he has any prescriptions. If your face is sunburned, I’m afraid the back of your neck will be sunburned too.”

Mr. Fu’s heart ached, but there was nothing he could do. This was the path she had chosen. She was destined to have a harder time than other delicate daughters.

He couldn’t even say something like ’she was suffering’. How could a soldier not be tired? If she didn’t work hard, she wouldn’t be able to achieve anything. What was the use of the military unit keeping her around, then?

Mr. Fu’s heart ached as he took Ye Jian’s luggage. He smiled as he listened to Ye Jian speak. His heart ached for his daughter, but he felt a little better when he saw that she was willing and happy.

His daughter was the best daughter in the world. As a father, he wasn’t the best father. There was no need to talk about the hardships she suffered in the military unit. Even when Uncle Chen passed away unexpectedly… Mr. Fu couldn’t stay by Ye Jian’s side. He let her suffer alone.

As a father, he was too unqualified.

Ye Jian didn’t feel that she had suffered much. The hardships she suffered now were so that she could kill a few more targets in the future. Every time, she would come back alive. Thinking about this, she was willing to suffer no matter what.

Her goal was to chase after Captain Xia and not let go. Her wish was to come back alive every time because her family, who loved her deeply, would wait for her to return safely.

On the way, Ye Jian smiled and talked about many interesting things in the military school. She would talk about the interesting things that happened during training too. She even mentioned that her cousin, Li Jinnian, went to school and had a fight with Xia Jinyuan. The surrounding military school students clapped and cheered.

When Mr. Fu heard this, he, who had personally driven to fetch his daughter, smiled and said, ”Did your cousin beat that brat up for me? He deserves a beating for kidnapping my little princess. Only your cousin can stand up for me in the family.”
