Rebirth: General, Don't Mess Around!

Also, the sound of a long-range sniper shot was too loud. It would alert everyone instantly. The sound of a close-range shot was very small. If Qin Maosheng was killed alone, his subordinates wouldn’t notice it so quickly. It would also give Ye Jian enough time to retreat.

However, there was also a problem with shooting at a close distance. If she was too close, the firepower would be concentrated on her if she was discovered. Hence, it was best to infiltrate and assassinate him with a dagger.

Ye Jian avoided the covert sentries and went under the roof of the wooden house. She went from the secret outpost to the bushes behind the wooden house.

She went around to the back of the covert sentries and silently climbed in through the window of the wooden house. About three minutes later, she left the wooden house quietly with a faint smell of blood on her body.

Someone was lying on the ground in the wooden house. Blood was flowing to the ground, leaving trails like a snake. Beside him was a damaged walkie-talkie.

After exiting the wooden house, Ye Jian panted heavily. There was a faint smell of blood in the air. She pulled her earpieces and reported the latest situation she found. ”The inside of the wooden house is made of cement. It’s at least 15 cm thick and is definitely bulletproof. I suspect that the wooden houses in the entire village are like that.

They look no different from ordinary wooden houses on the outside but inside, they’re made of cement walls.”

She recalled that the wooden house she was dragged into didn’t have any cement walls. That meant that even though Qin Maosheng kidnapped them, he was still on guard.

Ye Jian looked around. After confirming that she was safe for the time being, she said, ”This village might not be an ordinary village. I suspect that there are no villagers in this village. They’re all Qin Maosheng’s people.”

As soon as she finished speaking, V8’s voice followed. ”There’s no need to doubt it. This is the truth. The entire village grows poppy for a living, but from planting to harvesting, the people doing it are all subordinates of Qin Maosheng. This is also the village where he’s raising the retired soldiers of the Myanmar military unit.

Azure Bird, most of the people here are retired soldiers from Myanmar.”

So that was how it was!

During the day, when she was dragged to the wooden house to get her photos taken, she thought that the Burmese man guarding the house was a retired soldier from Myanmar. She didn’t think too much about it, but it turned out to be true.

”Everyone, be careful. There might be more than one person in some wooden houses. I don’t dare to flip into the houses casually either.” Ye Jian exhaled lightly. She wasn’t even holding her pistol in her hand. She held her dagger horizontally as she stared ahead. Her footsteps were soft as she retreated toward the trees to hide.

She saw a few people with guns coming down from the mountain. Then, they turned a corner and walked toward another small path.

”Reconnaissance officer, is there anyone in front?” Ye Jian asked the scout from the Cloud Leopard Commando Brigade who had been guiding her. With the help of a scout, she could speed up her infiltration.

”That’s all. The four people who went past just now went down the mountain path on your left. You’re still 500 meters away from your destination…”

The scout from the Cloud Leopard Commando Brigade reminded Ye Jian through the earpieces and asked her to pay attention to her surroundings. At the same time, the special forces soldiers from the Xueyu unit had already infiltrated the village. They took out their daggers and started their assassination.

They knew clearly how many covert sentries and open sentries there were in the village. At this moment, it was as though they were pulling out carrots one by one. The entire process was done in stealth.

”I’ll go and finish off the machine gunners. The two of you, go to Azure Bird’s side…” V8, who was squatting under a tree, said to his two comrades behind him, ”If you meet any survivors, kill them. One kill means one less firepower.”

The two comrades from the Xueyu unit made an ’OK’ gesture. They separated from V8 and quickly moved toward Ye Jian.
