Rebirth: General, Don't Mess Around!

Ye Jian closed her eyes and opened them again. Her heart, which had stopped beating for a moment because of the appearance of the figure, started beating again.

In front of her, the shadows of the trees were dappled with light. The slender figure stood proudly in the half-dark like a pine tree. When she blinked and looked again, the slender figure was still there. It had not left or disappeared. It was still standing there quietly…

The familiar figure made her feel suffocated as he stood there. The sudden appearance of this figure shattered all the resolve in her heart.

In an instant, warm liquid filled her eyes. Her nose was suddenly blocked. She could only breathe through her mouth. Ye Jian blinked gently. She didn’t dare to let the tears in her eyes flow out. She was afraid that the moment they flowed out, that familiar figure would be just an illusion.

It wasn’t an illusion.

It really wasn’t an illusion.

The person she loved deeply was standing there in the half-darkness. Just like that, he stood there quietly while looking at her. It felt like a thousand years had passed.

Ye Jian didn’t dare to look at him anymore. She retracted her gaze after glancing at him hurriedly. She didn’t dare to let her tears fall. She controlled her tears and forced them back.

They said that the love of a special forces soldier was the most bitter. At this moment, Ye Jian finally understood it deeply.

The most bitter love was when they met on the same piece of land but they couldn’t even make eye contact for a short period of time. That was because they had different missions on their shoulders and carried heavy responsibility. A short eye contact… had become an extravagant hope.

It was the most bitter love because their love couldn’t be out in the open. It had to be kept in a dark and cold corner. Yearning from morning to night caused them immense pain. Just like her and him now, they were so close but so far apart.

Ye Jian didn’t know if the lover she missed day and night saw her. She didn’t know if the lover who loved her was feeling the same as her. The moment she saw the other party, she was so excited that her heart was like a swing. It fell and rose and fell again…

It didn’t matter even if he didn’t see her. It was enough that she saw him.

She knew where he was. She knew that he was safe now. Even if he didn’t see her, it didn’t matter to her. Just by looking at him for a short period of time, she was satisfied.

It had been a year since they last met. Was Captain Xia alright?

’I’m relieved that you’re fine.’

Ye Jian retracted her gaze. Even Zhou Yijin, who was closest to her, didn’t realize that in just a few seconds, Ye Jian’s emotions had changed from raging waves to being still like the surface of a lake.

The tears that he forced back didn’t come out. They only moistened the corners of her eyes slightly. However, Xia Jinyuan noticed it and clenched his fists so tightly that his nails were about to sink into his palm…

He saw the person he had been missing day and night. He saw his lover whom he loved to the core and who had become one with his flesh and blood. However, he couldn’t look at her for long. He couldn’t look at her deeply.

Who was he now?

He was a criminal who couldn’t be exposed and was being chased by the border defense armed police officers.

And who was she?

She was a soldier who could stand upright under the sun and wear the olive-green military uniform. Even when facing many criminals, she didn’t lose the integrity of a Chinese soldier.
