Checking in for 100,000 Years

Chapter 393: Chapter 393: The Hobbies of Sword Sovereign

”My God! This world is too terrifying; even young dragons are auctioned and used as gifts. I’m glad I came with Master, or I too might have been captured if I had come alone.”

Upon hearing the words of the two middle-aged men, a tempest raged in the heart of the Nether Blood Green Wooden Dragon.

However, it feigned composure, hovering motionlessly in the void.

”Gentlemen, what kind of organization is this Jianyun Sect? To think so many people are giving them gifts,” Ye Yun asked with a smile.

”Brother, you must be from somewhere else, right?” the burly middle-aged man asked cautiously.

Ye Yun nodded.

”No wonder then. The Jianyun Sect is a Divine Monarch level force in our Daluo Region. They are exceedingly strong, especially the Sword Sovereign. His Practiced Sword Art is superb; with a cultivation base at the tenth layer of the Divine Monarch Realm, he can fight evenly with experts at the Half-step Divine Venerate Realm,” the burly man explained. As he spoke, an expression of infinite yearning appeared in his eyes.

”So, it’s a Divine Monarch level force,” Ye Yun nodded.

In the Divine Land, forces were categorized by cultivation realms. There were True God Realm level forces, like Star God Island in the Ninth Sea Area. There were also Divine Monarch level forces. A step higher, there were God Sovereign level forces, and even Divine King Realm level forces. Each increase in level signified a revolutionary change in the force’s power.

This so-called Jianyun Sect, possessing a great cultivator at the tenth layer of the Divine Monarch Realm, was clearly a top-tier existence among Divine Monarch level forces. And this Sword Sovereign, capable of defeating Half-step Divine Venerate Realm cultivators while only at the tenth layer of the Divine Monarch Realm, was undoubtedly unparalleled in the Sword Dao.

”Brother, the Jinyu Auction House has many other items up for auction. You can take a look at those. We’ll be heading off first.” The burly middle-aged man cupped his fists with a smile, and then the two of them tore through the air and departed.

Ye Yun chuckled. These two True God Realm Tenth Layer cultivators were quite enthusiastic. He was surprised they had revealed such important information.

Ye Yun resolved to make a trip to Yunxiao City. He had to obtain that young dragon. If the Dragon Raiser appeared, Ye Yun would naturally capture him as well.

”Master, it’s hard to believe that the Dragon Clan, who once called the shots in the Cangnan Continent, have been reduced to mere gifts here in the Divine Land,” the Nether Blood Green Wooden Dragon said with a bitter smile.

”It can’t be helped. The Dragon Clan was defeated in the ancient war. After all these years, they have completely withdrawn from the stage of history,” Ye Yun stated calmly. He pressed his foot lightly and said softly, ”Let’s go.”

”Alrighty!” The Nether Blood Green Wooden Dragon took a deep breath, then swished its tail and flew forward.

They had flown for little more than a hundred li when suddenly, several beams of light descended from the sky, blocking Ye Yun’s path.

As the light dissipated, a burly man in purple robes emerged. His cultivation base had already reached the First Layer of the Divine Monarch Realm. He cupped his fists towards Ye Yun and said, ”Might I ask if you are the Dragon Raiser? This young dragon... could you sell it directly to us?”

”Sir, you are mistaken. I am not the Dragon Raiser. This little dragon is merely my flying mount,” Ye Yun cupped his fists and explained, a wry look on his face.

Why does everyone mistake me for a Dragon Raiser?

Little did they know, he himself was still looking for the Dragon Raiser.

Upon hearing Ye Yun’s reply, a look of disappointment crossed the purple-robed man’s face. He sighed and said, ”My friend, the Jianyun Sect’s Heaven Ceremony is about to begin. Many people are currently searching for young dragons to present as gifts to the Sword Sect. Flying around so openly like this, you’re likely to attract unwanted attention.”

”Thank you for the reminder!” Ye Yun said with a laugh. Anyone who dares to target me must be tired of living.

Seeing Ye Yun’s confident and fearless demeanor, the purple-robed man shook his head, turned, and left.

This fellow actually acts like he’s from a reputable sect; he didn’t try to rob me, Ye Yun thought with a faint smile. He had concealed his Super Divine Dragon Breath, making it difficult for ordinary people to discern his realm. Some, fearing hidden trump cards, would hesitate to make a move. However, there were also those who were bold and ruthless enough to seize things by force.

However, we aren’t far from Yunxiao City now. I wonder if anyone will still have time to make a move.

After those figures had flown some distance away, one of the men asked in a low voice, ”Senior Brother, why didn’t we snatch that young dragon?”

The purple-robed man frowned and said, ”That white-robed young man’s cultivation base is indiscernible. He might be far stronger than either of us. It’s best not to get involved in this mess.”

The man hesitated before asking, ”The young dragon at the Jinyu Auction House... if the Hegemon Sect makes a bid, will we even be able to secure it?”

”We’ll do our best. If that doesn’t work, we’ll just have to find other gifts for the Sword Sovereign,” the purple-robed man replied.

”Besides raising dragons, I haven’t heard of the Sword Sovereign having any other hobbies,” the man said, his brows furrowed.

The purple-robed man glanced around and whispered, ”Rumor has it that the Sword Sovereign enjoys carving figurines from peach wood. Our sect has a dozen or so Thousand-year-old Peach Trees on its back hill. When the time comes, we can just cut them down and present them to the Sword Sovereign.”

”The Sword Sovereign enjoys carving figurines? Senior Brother, how do you know this?” the man asked, his eyebrows shooting up in surprise.

”This Heaven Ceremony is said to be exceptionally grand, a rare event in the world. It will include many events, including the official renaming of the Jianyun Sect, and a mysterious expert is rumored to be challenging the Sword Sovereign... That’s why it’s causing such a stir. All the forces in the Daluo Region, big and small, are in an uproar, all trying to gather information and curry favor with the Sword Sovereign. So, just recently, this top-secret news—that the Sword Sovereign likes to carve figurines—somehow got out through certain channels.”

”So that’s how it is...” the man said, a look of realization dawning on him.

”Indeed. I paid a hefty price for this information. If we can’t obtain a young dragon or a Dragon Egg, we can only settle for the next best thing,” the purple-robed man said smugly.

”Senior Brother, I remember the Jianyun Sect used to be called the Green Luo Sword Sect. They changed their name once before, ten thousand years ago. So what’s this about an official name change now?” the man asked.

”That time, the Sword Sovereign suppressed his master and forcibly changed the sect’s name. It wasn’t very honorable, after all. But now that old codger has passed on, and everyone in the Daluo Region knows the Jianyun Sect’s true name. Taking advantage of this Heaven Ceremony, the Sword Sovereign has decided to formally announce the Jianyun Sect’s name in front of all the cultivators in the world,” the purple-robed man said in a low voice.

Hearing his explanation, the others nodded silently. They said no more and quickly flew towards Yunxiao City.

Meanwhile, Ye Yun was still some distance from Yunxiao City. In terms of speed, he was far slower than the purple-robed man and his group. After all, the Nether Blood Green Wooden Dragon was only at the First Level of the Eternal Realm. In a solid world like the Divine Land, its flight speed was relatively slow.

WHOOSH! WHOOSH!

After flying for the time it takes an incense stick to burn, suddenly, seven or eight figures descended from the sky, blocking Ye Yun’s path.

A black-robed elder at their head stepped out from the group, cupped his fists, and said, ”Might I ask if you are a Dragon Raiser?”

”No!” Ye Yun shook his head.

”Since you are not a Dragon Raiser, how about selling your young dragon to us?” The black-robed elder stared at Ye Yun, a chilling light flickering in his eyes, a trace of murderous intent visible on his face.
