Checking in for 100,000 Years

Chapter 390: Chapter 390 It seems like I’ve found someone with the same interest

”Master, the Ancient Road to Heaven is truly terrifying. If it weren’t for your presence, I wouldn’t have been able to pass even the first obstacle.”

At the end of the Ancient Road to Heaven, two figures shot out.

One was a young man in white, with deep-set features and outstandingly handsome, his entire being radiating an indescribable, ethereal quality. The other, a youth in a green robe, looked a little inexperienced.

The one who had just spoken was the youth in the green robe. After he finished speaking, he glanced back, a terrified expression still lingering on his face.

”If the Ancient Road to Heaven weren’t challenging, how could it stop the passage of cultivators?” Ye Yun smiled faintly and shook his head, his gaze falling upon a small wooden house within a fenced yard in the distance.

The small wooden house was empty.

Evidently, after he had killed the Gatekeeper of the Ancient Road to Heaven, no one had guarded it since. Ye Yun assumed that, sooner or later, a new Gatekeeper would be appointed to this place. After all, the powers of the Divine Land greatly distrusted the Cangnan Continent and, as much as possible, did not want its cultivators to venture out. Appointing a Gatekeeper was another layer of obstruction.

The Gatekeeper at that time, though appearing somewhat greedy, was actually a ruthless character, ready to kill at the slightest disagreement. Because of this, even if a cultivator from the Cangnan Continent had, by chance, managed to traverse the Ancient Road to Heaven, passing the Gatekeeper was still incredibly difficult.

The small wooden house flickered and vanished.

Ye Yun, accompanied by the Nether Blood Green Wooden Dragon, bypassed the final barrier of the Ancient Road to Heaven and stepped out over a vast, azure ocean.

”Wow, the Spiritual Energy in this air is different from that of the Cangnan Continent!” After inhaling some of the Spiritual Energy, a look of intoxication appeared on the Nether Blood Green Wooden Dragon’s face, which then turned into shock.

Wouldn’t cultivating in this place speed up progress severalfold?

”The Spiritual Energy in the Divine Land contains Divine Nature. For cultivators above the True God Realm, this place is a paradise for cultivation,” Ye Yun said with a smile.

”This place is wonderful! No wonder Master told me to come here.” The Nether Blood Green Wooden Dragon scratched his head, a look of yearning on his face.

”But you’d need the strength for that,” Ye Yun laughed heartily, his laughter booming, which caused the green-robed youth opposite him to blush instantly.

”Master, I know I’m weak, and the countless challenges of the Ancient Road to Heaven are terrifying. With my strength, even if I reach the Tenth-Layer Peak of the Eternal Realm, I still can’t break through,” the Nether Blood Green Wooden Dragon said, his face flushed.

”That’s right. At least you’re aware of your own limitations. Let’s go! We’re heading directly to the Daluo Region to see if Nangong Jade is there.” Ye Yun laughed, then tore open the void and left with the Nether Blood Green Wooden Dragon.

「Just a few moments after Ye Yun left.」

Suddenly, a black Celestial Boat broke through the sky from afar, stopping near the barrier outside the Ancient Road to Heaven. A group of about thirty-four individuals stood on the Celestial Boat. These people looked similar to the Human Race, but each had a strange black mark on their forehead.

They were the Yuan Demon Clan People. They had come from the distant Netherworld Demon Territory, traversing hundreds of millions of miles to reach this place.

”This should be the right place,” said a middle-aged man in a black robe, who stood out prominently among the many Yuan Demon Clan People. He was the Demon Lord of the Yuan Mo Clan.

However, his real name was Wu De, and he was from another world. Wu De had taken great pains to enter this world, seizing the body of this Demon God and naturally becoming the leader of the Yuan Mo Clan. Then, he led the Yuan Demon Clan People, easily defeating the Bloodthirsty Demon Clan and deterring the other great Demon Clans. After settling down for a while, Wu De’s craving for his pipe began to act up; he yearned for his treasured Purple Gold Pipe.

So, he led a group of his subordinates, following a mysterious sense, trudging over mountains and through waters, finally arriving at The Tenth Sea Region.

”Demon Lord, this is the entrance to the Forbidden Zone of the Hidden Dragon...” the beautiful High Priest, her skin as fair as ivory and her features delicate, said while holding a White Bone Wand. She looked at the semi-transparent barrier below with a doubtful expression.

Their Netherworld Demon Territory was a considerable distance from here. However, as demons from the Divine Land, all Yuan Mo Clan members knew what the Forbidden Zone of the Hidden Dragon implied. This was a true forbidden area. No cultivator dared to enter this terrifying place. Those who recklessly entered would face a dreadful Curse: their cultivation base would stagnate for life, and they would never be able to progress again. The Spiritual Energy inside the Forbidden Zone was extremely thin, with no Divine Nature to speak of. It was completely unsuitable for cultivators from the Divine Land to cultivate.

Upon hearing the High Priest’s words, Wu De could not hide his embarrassment. Due to the hasty possession, he had shattered the Demon God’s Primordial Spirit and had not inherited any memories. In the meantime, relying on his special status and formidable combat strength, Wu De had, through deception and trickery, obtained considerable information about the Shenhu Continent. However, this was the first time he had heard of this Forbidden Zone of the Hidden Dragon.

Wu De coughed lightly and said seriously, ”High Priest, what are the particulars of this Forbidden Zone of the Hidden Dragon? Explain them to me. I have been dormant for so long that some things have slipped my mind.”

The High Priest gave a charming smile, not taking it to heart. Ever since the Demon Lord descended, he had seemed somewhat befuddled, often surprising others with his behavior. However, this Demon Lord’s strength was exceedingly high; he had defeated the Bloodthirsty Demon Clan with a single blow. That battle astounded the entire Netherworld Demon Territory. It also solidified the standing of the Yuan Demon Clan People within the Demon Clan. Some members of the Demon Clan even began to once again count the Yuan Demon Clan People among the Ten Great Demon Clans. The other major Demon Clans also grew extremely wary of the Yuan Demon Clan People and no longer dared to bully them wantonly as they had before.

”Demon Lord, there is a terrifying Curse in the Forbidden Zone of the Hidden Dragon. Any cultivator from the Divine Land who enters will be Cursed, making it impossible for them to advance further on their path of cultivation,” the High Priest said softly. Gazing at the transparent barrier, her eyes also betrayed a hint of fear.

The path of cultivation is long. Who wouldn’t want to travel further on this grand road? But if the path of cultivation is severed, one’s lifespan will also stagnate, and death will eventually become inevitable.

”Oh...” Wu De nodded. After a few seconds of silence, he suddenly said, ”Then I shall go in and take a look.”

With that, his figure flashed and disappeared from the Celestial Boat.

”Demon Lord!” the High Priest shrieked, so terrified her heart felt like it would leap from her throat. She hurriedly flew towards the barrier.

The other Yuan Demon Clan People, in a panic, hurriedly maneuvered the Celestial Boat, transforming it into a beam of light that plunged through the barrier.

「After passing through the barrier.」

The High Priest breathed a sigh of relief. In the distance, she spotted a small wooden hut. The Demon Lord of their Yuan Mo Clan stood before it, seemingly searching for something. The High Priest hastily led the clan members and flew over.

”Demon Lord, this is the Ancient Road to Heaven! Fortunately, you didn’t directly enter the Forbidden Zone of the Hidden Dragon.” After flying closer, the High Priest caught her breath, still shaken with lingering fear.

”There’s a lingering smell of smoke here. It seems there’s a kindred spirit about!” Wu De said, his hands clasped behind his back, a brilliant smile on his face as he let out an appreciative ”Tsk, tsk.”
