The Female CEO's Personal Bodyguard

In cultivation, days and months pass unnoticed; three months went by in the blink of an eye.

Varric Combs stood in the place where Carson Flores was cultivating, and called out loudly, ”Carson Flores, how are you doing? Are you alright?”

The light flickered, the formation’s concealment vanished, and Carson Flores’ figure was revealed.

Carson Flores sat cross-legged, serene and steady. A peculiar fluctuation reverberated on his body, while around him, threads of black lines quickly faded, turned transparent, and disappeared into the air.

Varric Combs was stunned.

He stared incredulously at the disappearing threads of black lines, his eyes filled with undeniable shock.

”Is this...”

Carson Flores slowly opened his eyes, exhaled slowly, and a familiar smile appeared on his face.

”The spatial rift created by the Space Turbulence Technique...”

Varric Combs’ eyes widened even further in shock as he looked at Carson Flores, ”You’ve learned the Space Turbulence Technique?”

Carson Flores laughed and said, ”Not so fast. At most, it’s entry-level.”

Varric Combs took a deep breath, ”You’ve reached entry-level?”

Carson Flores nodded, ”I’ve gained some understanding, but fully mastering it will still take a lot of time.”

Varric Combs’ expression became rather peculiar and looked at Carson Flores as if he had seen a ghost.

”Your innate divine ability is the Five Elements; space divine power should be difficult for you to comprehend. How did you understand it so quickly? I’ve been contemplating it for three months and haven’t gained any insight...”

Varric Combs stopped mid-sentence.

Ah, the irony, the irony!

Previously, Varric Combs handed the rubbings to Carson Flores as agreed for joint contemplation, but he also felt embarrassed for not gleaning any insight over three months, so he thought he’d let Carson Flores contemplate it. If Carson gained nothing, it would be forgotten.

Since Carson Flores went into closed-door cultivation, Varric Combs had been eager to check on his progress and had even prepared comforting words.

”I’m a Space System Quasi-Saint; if I can’t comprehend it, it’s understandable that you, not being space-oriented, wouldn’t. Don’t be disheartened; when I learn it, I’ll teach you...”

Varric Combs had checked on Carson Flores several times but since Carson was cultivating in seclusion, it wasn’t right to interrupt him, so he waited anxiously for three months before finally coming to inquire about Carson’s progress.

Three months for me, three months for you, the same amount of time. I can’t comprehend it, so it’s normal if you can’t.

Yet Varric Combs never imagined Carson Flores would indeed comprehend it.

He’s reached entry-level!

Doesn’t that make me appear foolish?

Carson Flores smiled and comforted, ”Though I haven’t become an immortal yet, I learned Ground Shrinking Technique, and later studied Carefree Wander with a Great Land Prime Immortal, both are space movement techniques. It’s difficult to grasp, but with hands-on teaching and spending more time, I learned them.”

”Perhaps due to previously learning space divine powers, it’s slightly easier to comprehend now. Besides, I’ve merely reached entry-level; there’s still a long way to go.”

Varric Combs was at a loss for words.

He’s comforting me!

The words I prepared to console him, who knew now it would be me needing consolation.

I’m a Space System Quasi-Saint. Compared to a youth with average talent, I’m falling short on insight!

Is there any justice left?

Carson Flores handed the rubbings to Varric Combs, saying: ”I took up quite a bit of time. Would you like to continue contemplating it, senior?”

Varric Combs didn’t reach to take them, knowing well his situation. Contemplating the Space Turbulence Technique is exceedingly challenging for him, and though he might eventually understand it clearly, it will certainly require a significant amount of time.

Being stuck in this Land of Chaotic Streams now, delaying and failing to discern it would be somewhat awkward.

Varric Combs hesitated for a moment before saying, ”Since you’ve reached entry-level, why not just continue contemplating it? Once you understand it thoroughly, we can leave here, rather than waste time.”

After a pause, Varric Combs finally swallowed his pride and said, ”Once you’ve learned it, share some pointers with me. I feel like I’m outside a walled courtyard, unable to find the door...”

Embarrassment!

Such embarrassment!

Varric Combs privately rejoiced he came alone, without Lucas White and others around; otherwise, who knows how they would view him?

Carson Flores had originally been contemplating something extraordinary, and since Varric Combs was willing to graciously step back, Carson naturally wouldn’t be shy.

”You’re too kind, senior. Since both of us are out, let’s share our insights now.”

Share insights?

Varric Combs felt secretly embarrassed; he was the one who initially suggested sharing insights, yet he hadn’t truly grasped anything, like he said—being outside the courtyard wall unable to find the door—what was there to share?

Calling it sharing insights, it was more like Carson’s one-sided guidance!

Carson was providing a way out for him!

Varric Combs felt a long-lost sense of shame, but for the sake of understanding the Space Turbulence Technique, he put it aside, thick-skinned with: ”Alright, then I’ll talk about a few issues I encountered...”

”Good!”

Varric Combs talked about the places he couldn’t comprehend, while Carson deftly guided and explained to him.

Lucas White and others watched from afar, seeing Carson Flores holding the rubbings, lecturing as if a teacher, eloquently, while Varric Combs seemed like a student receiving special tutoring, listening intently, nodding vigorously in realization, and showing an excited smile of understanding.

Lucas White and the others’ expressions immediately became peculiar, exchanging glances, each seeing the same odd look in the other’s eyes.

Carson Flores is guiding Varric Combs in learning the Space Turbulence Technique?
