Three Towers Game

”But I seem to have been wrong. I will continue to observe for a while to reach the correct conclusion.”

”Kains, from now on, you will be called Cain.”

Cain mocked himself with a laugh:

”I do quite like the name Cain, but I can’t stand her condescending attitude.”

”But you probably guessed it, the gap between her and me is huge... just like the gap between me and—”

Cain ultimately did not say, ”just like the gap between you and me.”

After all, he also realized that this presence, comparable to God, seemed to be satisfying those four killers.

Perhaps, this was also a way to dissolve obsession.

Cain said:

”I am no match for her, the difference in power between us is not on the same level.”

”She told me to save this world according to my plans, to let humanity survive, to let thoughts that can think, love, hate, sacrifice, and be selfish, continue.”

”I, of course, am more than happy to alter this world, what followed was a carnival.”

”I’ve liked blood since I was little, you know, it’s said that three out of ten thousand people are interested in human blood and find it delicious.”

”Throughout generations, humanity seems eager to let those three out of ten thousand die, but they always survive. In every era, there’s always that small group of beasts within civilized society.”

”They crave the blood and flesh of their kind. They also hope that one day this world can freely allow blood-sucking. Even that blood-sucking might become a norm.”

Wen Xishu suddenly wanted to say, you better be talking about vampires.

Cain said:

”The world I longed for has arrived, with Aries’ help, I became the strongest vampire in the world.”

”I am the Savior of the Bloodline Program and also the ruler of this program.”

”In my kingdom, blood-sucking is free, legal, and encouraged.”

”Under my influence, parents suck their children’s blood, children suck their parents’ blood. Friends suck each other’s blood, relatives suck each other’s blood, even strangers suck each other’s blood.”

”At first, the blood-making project could provide enough blood, and the population of this city was large, we could even hold blood parties.”

”Have you ever tried killing six thousand people, then bathe in a massive pool full of blood and corpses?”

”That baptism brought me immense joy. I still long for it.”

”But... not long after, all the blood-making equipment was destroyed. Destroyed by that woman.”

Cain actually harbored some hatred toward Aries, and said coldly:

”She appeared again, this time telling me her experiment was complete, she found part of the answer.”

”She lifted my obsession, yet because of me, created more obsessions.”

”She gained a lot of power from the Tower, but this was not her intention. She will avoid this method. I don’t understand what this woman wants to say. But after that... ”

”Crystal City began to decline because there was no blood. And we couldn’t leave Crystal City.”

Wen Xishu carefully pondered Aries’ words.

He seemed to understand a bit.

Cain acquired a rare opportunity, so unique that only Cain, one of those three in ten thousand people, could obtain it.

In other words, Cain possessed the qualification to use the ”power of the Tower,” becoming a vampire of sorts.

Aries discovered this, infused the power of the Tower into Cain, making him a vampire.

Cain’s wish was fulfilled, and the era of legal blood-sucking arrived.

Yet, ironically, the slaughter Cain caused also generated greater obsessions.

These obsessions gave Aries power but went against her original intent. However, Aries herself was also conducting an experiment.

Wen Xishu said:

”Did she ever tell you why vampires? Your abilities were given to you by her, in other words, you were actively chosen by her. But why not grant you a more... not-so-evil power?”

Cain was a little surprised that Wen Xishu seemed to know the scene at that time:

”She did mention it.”

”According to her, when the end of the world comes, the power of the Tower will seek those with obsessions and qualifications. They often mutate, evolve, becoming people who can adapt to the end, like... your friends.”

”Aries could get guidance and see these people. But there are too many people in this world with obsessions and qualifications. Her task, so to speak, or her match, isn’t with these kinds of people.”

”What she is responsible for relates to ancient myths, secrets, and legends.”

Wen Xishu’s fingers trembled, as he hit the nail on the head.

”She told me that besides human obsessions, this world has a special obsession beyond humans.”

”This kind of obsession isn’t emitted by a specific individual, but instead formed from countless people’s recognition throughout human history, forming ’demons and ghosts’.”

”In Lion Heart Country, vampires are one of the tangible forms of ’demons’.”

”And I happened to gain recognition from this unusual obsession. In other words, I am the best vessel for vampires to manifest in the world.”

”She also said, besides vampires, various demons and ghosts might appear. The vessels of such obsessions are often stronger than ordinary Obsession Bodies, but not absolutely. Generally speaking—”

”’Demons’ will be stronger and more easily revered.”

Wen Xishu couldn’t help but ask:

”The ’dragon’ in Longxia’s Dragon Hide Plan, is that also a ’demon’?”
