Chapter 476: Chapter 472: The Hatred Between the Sea-Splitting King and the Meteor King

BOOM.

As the Black Envoy unleashed his full-power strike, his Cultivation was laid bare. He was a powerhouse of the Supreme Celestial Rank!

The Supreme Celestial Rank was only one step away from becoming a King. An expert of this Realm was powerful enough to be a regional overlord—even Kings would go to great lengths to recruit them.

The Meteor King, for instance, only had Great Celestial Rank experts under his command and lacked anyone at the Supreme Celestial Rank. This showed just how precious such individuals were.

The Meteor Array used the Meteor Fragment as its core, granting it immense Power. A Great Celestial Rank expert wouldn’t be able to destroy it even if they found the Array’s core. Only someone at the Supreme Celestial Rank, like the Black Envoy, had a chance.

CRACK...

As the Black Envoy attacked the sphere of light, it gradually began to fail under the force, and the sound of cracking echoed from its surface.

RUMBLE...

At the same time, the entirety of Meteor Island began to shake. The earth trembled and the mountains swayed with astonishing force.

”What’s going on? Is it an earthquake?”

The many Martial Artists on Meteor Island looked on in shock. Nothing like this had ever happened before.

”Hm? What’s this...?”

In a quiet courtyard, Meng Tianyu and Ning Jiang were together. When they suddenly felt the tremor, they too were stunned for a moment.

The two of them immediately shot into the sky. Looking down, they quickly discovered that the intense tremors were coming from the direction of the Meteor Fragment. Shockingly, fissures were slowly spreading across the land, with the Meteor Fragment at their epicenter.

It was a spectacular sight; it looked as if the entire Meteor Island was about to shatter.

”This is bad! The Meteor Array is under attack!”

Meng Tianyu’s expression changed drastically.

As the son of the Meteor King, he was naturally very familiar with this Grand Array.

The Meteor Array was painstakingly constructed by the Meteor King, with the Meteor Fragment as its core. Once activated, it could mobilize the Power of the entire Meteor Island. With the Meteor Array in place, the whole island was as solid as a fortress—an impregnable bastion.

In the past, when the Sea-Splitting King attacked Meteor Island, the Meteor Array had performed miraculously, even severely wounding him on one occasion.

”What happened? Who’s attacking the Meteor Array?”

While Meng Tianyu was still in shock, figures shot into the sky one after another, all heading toward the Meteor Fragment.

These were all experts under the Meteor King’s command.

But the most astonishing thing was yet to come.

A figure ascended into the sky. The moment he appeared, everyone on Meteor Island felt an immense and majestic pressure. Before this majesty, many of the weaker Martial Artists couldn’t bear it and fell to their knees.

”It’s Father.”

Meng Tianyu’s pupils contracted.

Ning Jiang looked over as well. He saw a middle-aged man with a weathered face, dressed in scholar’s robes like a learned Scholar. But one of his sleeves was empty—he had only one arm.

’He matches the rumors,’ Ning Jiang murmured.

He had heard some things about the Meteor King. It was said that the King was a man who loved to read and wasn’t particularly skilled at fighting and killing.

But later, after witnessing the devastation wrought by pirates in the Meteor Sea Region, he made a great vow to eradicate them all. He abandoned his scholarly pursuits for martial arts, devoted himself to Cultivation, and through a series of fortuitous encounters, attained his current status.

”That bastard, the Sea-Splitting King, is responsible for my father’s arm!”

Meng Tianyu said through gritted teeth.

”What’s the story behind the deep-seated hatred between your father and the Sea-Splitting King?” Ning Jiang asked. For two Kings to harbor such animosity, there had to be a history.

”When my father was young, he fought across the Meteor Sea Region and annihilated countless pirates. But one time, he provoked a powerful enemy...”

As Meng Tianyu spoke, a story from the past slowly unfolded before Ning Jiang’s eyes.

Hundreds of years ago, before the Meteor King had become a King, he wiped out a large Pirate Gang. But behind that Pirate Gang was a major figure—the son of the Sea-Splitting King himself!

The Sea-Splitting King’s son challenged the young Meteor King to a duel. The two fought a world-shaking battle, and in that fight, the Sea-Splitting King’s son fell at the hands of the Meteor King.

”Five hundred years ago, my father and the Sea-Splitting King’s son were peerless prodigies of their generation, both with the potential to become Kings. But in that battle, my father proved superior. Not only did he defeat his opponent, but he also achieved a breakthrough in the midst of the fight, ascending to the rank of King!”

Meng Tianyu said with pride.

”However, this incident also earned the Sea-Splitting King’s bitter resentment. After all, a descendant with the potential to become a King had died at my father’s hands. How could the Sea-Splitting King let it go? My father was a newly ascended King, while the Sea-Splitting King was a veteran, thousands of years older. In terms of strength, my father was naturally no match for him.”

Meng Tianyu said with a wry smile.

They were both Kings, but the Meteor King had only recently ascended. The Sea-Splitting King was his senior by far, with a foundation much deeper than his own.

”If the Sea-Splitting King’s son hadn’t died, his house might have had two Kings by now. It’s no wonder he hates your father so much.”

Ning Jiang nodded, understanding the Sea-Splitting King’s monstrous hatred.

”The Sea-Splitting King hunted my father several times, but my father always managed to escape. Later, he came to Meteor Island and set up the Meteor Array, and the Sea-Splitting King could no longer touch him.”

A deep worry filled Meng Tianyu’s eyes. ”But now, the Meteor Array has been broken. I’m afraid the only one capable of doing this is the Sea-Splitting King...”

Just as the words left his mouth...

BOOM!

Suddenly, a tyrannical pressure, far more powerful than the Meteor King’s, descended from the heavens.

Under this pressure, some of the weaker cultivators began to bleed from their Seven Apertures.

Before the shocked eyes of countless people, massive, winged serpents appeared in the sky. Each was a thousand feet long, and there were nine of them, arranged in a line.

But the most stunning sight of all was that these nine vicious serpents were pulling a great black chariot. The chariot was like the carriage of a Divine Spirit, rolling across the void and shaking the world with its presence.

Aboard that chariot stood a commanding figure.

The figure was clad head-to-toe in black Armor. His eyes gazed down from the sky, his stare like a pair of searchlights illuminating the land below.

Some who met his gaze were so overwhelmed they coughed up blood on the spot, unable to withstand it.

”Sea-Splitting King!”

Meng Tianyu’s face was as dark as it could possibly be. The figure on the black chariot was none other than his father’s mortal enemy, the Sea-Splitting King.

Surrounding the Sea-Splitting King were numerous other experts, over a hundred in total.

Among them were more than a dozen Heaven-Reaching Realm experts, and the rest were all at the Earth Martial Realm. Such a lineup was so powerful it was suffocating!

”Sea-Splitting King, to think you could break my Meteor Array. What an impressive move,” the Meteor King said slowly, his expression grave.

”Meteor King, you killed my own son! This is a blood feud that cannot be reconciled. Today, I will use your blood to appease his spirit in the heavens!”

The Sea-Splitting King’s voice was incomparably cold. As he spoke, he slowly rose from his chariot.
