Return of the Antagonistic Lady Boss

Chapter 1038: Chapter 1011: Mr. Yu’s Breakdown (Part 4)

”When you think about it, it’s actually quite good. In two years, I’ll be able to earn a salary and make money. By then, our family’s finances will be even better, and we need to prepare houses and education funds for both of the children.”

Da Yi herself didn’t care about these things. She was an orphan and didn’t concern herself with such material possessions.

But occasionally, classmates around her would talk about marriage and such, feeling that starting from the past two years, marriage has started to focus more on material things. It’s no longer the era where you buy some furniture and live in company-assigned housing.

Moreover, Qian had taught her that money shouldn’t be saved in banks as that’s dead weight. There’s nothing better than buying houses. However much money you have, you should buy that many houses. Da Yi listened to Qian the most. Her brother’s money was enough to buy two houses, so she planned to first buy two for the kids to accumulate investment.

Her brother really liked seeing her earnest demeanor. He was also happy to see her seriously planning for the family, which gives a sense of home.

”Since this set is reserved for our eldest, we’ll take Panpan tomorrow to let him see for himself,” her brother said.

Da Yi was speechless, ”How old is he? How could he possibly know how to choose a house? Do you think buying a house is like buying clothes?”

Panpan always chose his clothing style himself and had very strong opinions.

”Let’s filter out a few that we think are good first, then take him. He can choose which one he likes, and we’ll buy that.”

Her brother mischievously added in his heart, if he doesn’t like it when he grows up, then that’s not his concern.

After all, houses are the kind of things that if you don’t like them a few years later, the child can sell them and buy new ones.

”I remember there’s a newly opened entertainment center near a residential area, which has sand sliding and grass sliding projects. We can also take our son there to play.”

Playing is the key point since her brother had more vacations.

Da Yi nodded in agreement; children love being with their fathers.

”Hey? What are Xiaoqian and Xiaoqiang doing standing here instead of going inside?” Da Yi saw Xiaoqian and Xiaoqiang lined up at the door.

Her brother braked the car and stopped beside them.

”Brother, I want to borrow your car for something,” Xiaoqiang started to speak.

”The car is yours,” her brother said as if he were about to get out of the car.

”It’s quite far, you come with me. Da Yi, head upstairs first, Panpan is waiting for you.”

Upon hearing Xiaoqiang’s words, Da Yi obediently got out of the car without a second thought. Her brother wanted to help Da Yi carry things, but Yu Minglang stopped him and gestured to the security guard at the gate to help Da Yi carry them.

Xiaoqiang and Xiaoqian both got in the car.

”Speak up, what’s really going on?”

Her brother could tell from Xiaoqiang’s expression that his little brother seemed to have something to say.

”Before we officially chat, I want you to take a look at this.”

Xiaoqian handed Panpan’s assessment sheet to her brother, who quickly read through it. He didn’t understand much of it but saw Xiaoqian’s final summary comment, causing his brows to furrow tightly.

”Are you suspecting that my son might have some psychological issue recently? Well, I’ll spend more time with him, and it happens that I don’t have to fly in the coming days. Is there any treatment plan I need to cooperate with?”

Her brother thought it was just a minor psychological issue. Xiaoqian’s actions of avoiding Da Yi, he also understood, fearing the expecting mother might get anxious.

”It’s not that simple, brother. I have something to tell you, and you need to prepare yourself mentally.”

Xiaoqiang couldn’t say who Panpan’s father specifically was. During the trial process, these details were confidential, and he couldn’t even tell his own brother. He could only precisely summarize by saying it was someone from a serial case.

After her brother listened to all the causes and consequences, his face turned exceptionally grim.

”I know from an emotional perspective, you definitely can’t accept this outcome, but we need to approach the issue rationally.”

Xiaoqian knew that saying these words was extremely cruel, but as a doctor, she must always remain rational and can’t irresponsibly speak with only emotion.

”What is rationality? Rationality is you asking me to abandon my son. You suspect my son is sick, and you threw out some inexplicable criminal to say my son has issues?”

Involving family members made Mr. Yu’s face darken ominously.

Yu Minglang, who had just been questioning Xiaoqian in a similar tone to her brother’s, now unhesitatingly stood in front of Xiaoqian upon seeing him like this.

”Brother, that’s not what Xiaoqian meant. Also, pay attention to your attitude and don’t use that tone with my wife.”

Her brother probably also felt his attitude was excessive, so he anxiously apologized to Xiaoqian.

”I’m sorry, Xiaoqian. I’m not targeting you.”

The unexpected nature of the situation made her brother’s reaction normal.

Xiaoqian understood and nodded.

”I know your current emotions are justifiable. Now neither you nor I need any emotions. We must stay calm and find a solution. This way, it’s fair to you, the child, and Da Yi as well as her unborn child.”

Being a psychologist is a special profession, one must remain objective and calm in work regardless of what happens, with no allowance for any personal emotions to interfere.

Her brother took several deep breaths and turned his face to look at the street outside.

A woman passed by pushing a baby stroller.

He thought of Panpan when he was small, being raised since he was so tiny. He remembered the first time he called him dad, thought about him puffing up his chubby face and drooling, kept thinking, and a tearing sensation of suffocation surrounded him.

Xiaoqian silently waited, knowing that for normal people, accepting such things requires a process, as it’s particularly cruel.

”Xiaoqian, from a professional standpoint, what do you recommend we should do now? Abandoning the child is absolutely impossible; he is my son.”

Her brother’s rational mindset came back to some extent. Being a pilot, his psychological endurance is unmatched by ordinary people.

”My recommendation is to bring Panpan to my home, where I’ll observe him comprehensively and up-close for a period of time. Objectively speaking, though this personality type has a high risk factor, it is also influenced by the postnatal family atmosphere. You and Da Yi are very good to the child, and the family environment is good too, perhaps not as pessimistic as I thought.”

”Then if Panpan’s situation isn’t optimistic, what do we do?” Yu Minglang asked.

The car fell into a desolate silence.

This was a dead-end without an answer.

”Mom, is little brother okay here?”

Panpan covered Da Yi’s belly with his little hand, curiously resting his head against her belly.

”I don’t know whether it is a little brother or sister, but during today’s check-up, the doctor said he’s developing well.”

”Little brother! You need to be good inside and not make mom feel sad.” Panpan earnestly pointed at Da Yi’s belly and spoke.

Her brother returned to such a scene and couldn’t help but feel a bit emotional.

This was the most warm and normal scene at home, yet now seeing it made him inexplicably sad.

”Dad!” Panpan saw her brother return and immediately revealed an especially joyous smile.

This was just a small expression but deeply touched her brother’s heart.
