Return of the Antagonistic Lady Boss

Chapter 1037: Chapter 1010: This Love Awaits, Becoming Memories

”Panpan’s test results are just around the normal value; compared to other children, he has many characteristics not typical for his age. Before we came, I consulted his kindergarten teacher in Lishi, who reported that the child behaves no differently than other children at school.”

”He’s like normal kids; isn’t that good?”

”No, we can’t be blindly optimistic. This personality type hides itself. If he behaved differently, it would be easier to handle, but he behaves just the same. It’s hard to say if this is his true nature or a façade.” Identifying antisocial personalities is challenging, especially when encountered with high intelligence that can mask it even better than a normal person.”

”I remember reading that such deficient personalities are also influenced by the growth environment. Our family’s atmosphere is so good, and Panpan has always been obedient at home.”

Yu Minglang still holds hope for his little nephew, unwilling to believe the child is as Qian said.

Qian shakes her head.

”An unemotional personality doesn’t necessarily mean being cold; rather, it habitually disguises itself as what others favor, thus gaining affection to trade for what it desires.”

This is the most terrifying aspect of an unemotional personality.

While others act out of emotion, for them, it’s solely about interests and what they want.

Being emotionally involved with such a person results in deep hurt.

The outward displays to please are fake, possibly turning for interests at any moment.

While there are many with this personality, if Panpan’s father really is that dreadful suspect, besides deficient traits, other frightening genes might be passed to the child, like bloodthirst.

An unemotional personality coupled with a special penchant is extremely dangerous; even family who have nurtured for many years might face ruthlessness over minor disruptions, leading to extreme acts.

Evidently, Yu Minglang is unwilling to accept Qian’s explanation.

”Panpan isn’t the child you describe! Are you suggesting everyone in our family is fooled by a child’s performance?!”

Speaking about family, he naturally becomes anxious, sounding confrontational with Qian.

Qian understands his feelings; she herself finds the outcome hard to swallow.

This child also grew up under her watch; as his aunt, such a situation is regretful, yet as a doctor, she must objectively view the issue.

”I haven’t definitively claimed the child possesses this personality; there’s simply a tendency towards it, walking the line of normalcy. This data precisely straddles between normal and abnormal; do not overlook Panpan’s high intelligence. Whether he intentionally failed some questions, nobody can say.” Qian explains to him.

Yu Minglang also understands that if others hover around the normal mark, it would be nothing alarming. But if Panpan is that frightening man’s child, it implies that genetic traits may become more prominent with age.

He begins pacing the room restlessly.

Now, collective punishment has long been abolished, unlike the feudal era where one person’s crime implicated the whole family. From an emotional standpoint, one person’s misdeeds aren’t related to their kin.

Non-discrimination is rooted in humanitarian spirit, reflecting societal progress.

Although there is no authoritative data proving bad genes are inherited, and no concept of a crime gene, some studies suggest a probability of hereditary traits; debate persists due to humanitarian considerations.

Qian previously pointed out this issue: we shouldn’t discriminate against criminals’ families, yet scientific matters shouldn’t be neglected due to prejudice; these are separate issues.

”Why didn’t the tests catch this before? A child this big in plain sight, both of us specialized in this field should’ve noticed, including prior tests you did on the child?”

Yu Minglang asks.

Qian realizes he’s not shifting responsibility to her but instinctively finding arguments to prove her diagnosis wrong, wanting to show the child is normal.

”If it were other psychological issues altering behavior, we’d notice immediately; but this unemotional personality excels at disguise, presenting more favorably than ordinary beings. Without specific scales, we’re unaware.”

The treatments Qian performed on Panpan earlier were entirely unrelated; they’re different issues.

For instance, past treatments were akin to a kidney ultrasound at a hospital—able to evaluate the kidney but not detect hemorrhoids. The same person’s examination yields differing results based on the focus.

Usually, Yu Minglang takes pride in Qian’s exceptional medical skills, but now he irrationally hopes for flaws in her expertise.

Qian knows this matter takes time to be accepted and grants him a few minutes for adjustment before speaking.

”Next, do we truthfully inform Second Brother and Dayi about this, or conceal the matter?”

Whether to speak or not, it causes harm.

Not only does Xiaoqiang favor Panpan, but personally, Qian also appreciates this silent yet sensible child.

However, emotions are one thing, and reason is another.

If Panpan truly exhibits tendencies of a deficient personality, the pressing issue ahead is whether to keep him close after Dayi gives birth to another child.

Children with this personality might feel threatened by the second child’s favor, potentially taking extreme measures to harm the new baby, given Panpan’s high intellect, he can’t be treated like a typical child.

Qian doesn’t offer direct advice, as ultimately this is Yu’s family matter that requires Yu Minglang to make the decision on the next steps.

Yu Minglang decides in a minute.

”Let’s go, make a call to Second Brother.”

Second Brother and Dayi return after prenatal check-ups at Elder Sister-in-law’s; they couldn’t resist buying baby items at a children’s store.

Moreover, they visited Big Brother’s development; in Q City, the house sold during the divorce with Wang Xiaohong. Although they could live in the parents’ home, it isn’t truly theirs. They’re contemplating purchasing property here as an asset investment. Once Second Brother retires, returning here is likely, and having a house is essential.

”Did you see any you liked today?” Second Brother asks Dayi as the car nears the family compound.

”Actually, all are fine. I think it doesn’t matter where as long as it’s close to the city center for Panpan’s future marriage, securing a favorable choice for daughter-in-law.”

Second Brother chuckles, ”The son is so young, and you’re already thinking about his marriage?”
