Return of the Antagonistic Lady Boss

Chapter 1032: Chapter 1005: Stepmother’s Treatment of a Child

Qian responded quite cleverly.

”We shouldn’t abandon science just because of fear of discrimination. In fact, some foreign data shows that certain personality defects have a hereditary probability, like violent tendencies or antisocial personalities. But genes can’t decide everything; it also relates to postnatal education.”

”The antisocial personality you mentioned, what exactly is it—” Whenever Da Yi starts discussing these professional courses with Qian, she asks questions like a curious baby.

Qian really has intentions in teaching her. As long as Da Yi asks, Qian will explain everything she knows and also give appropriate suggestions for Da Yi to read relevant books, even better than a mobile library. Despite being just a university graduate, Da Yi demonstrated solid professionalism by outshining PhDs and Masters in the last competition.

”Discussing these during meals, aren’t you afraid of indigestion? Talk about these later, eat first.” Second Brother handed the skewers to Da Yi, each skewer’s tip meticulously wiped by him.

”Oh.” Da Yi smiled at Second Brother, somewhat embarrassed.

She always ends up neglecting food and rest due to her interests.

Second Brother was delighted by her smile but reminded himself to be cautious, unable to spoil her unconditionally.

”After this meal, you can’t eat barbecue again this month.”

Da Yi immediately showed a grievance face. Wasn’t it promised not to cut pregnant women’s meals?

”Eating these often isn’t healthy. I shouldn’t have brought you here this time.” Second Brother made an excuse to relax Da Yi, stealthily taking her out to eat. If Mother knew, Old Yu Two would surely hear about it.

It’s important for pregnant women to pay attention to a balanced diet. In Mrs. Yu’s health-conscious view, such unhealthy food is the root of all evil.

Yu Minglang would never miss a chance to mock Mr. Yu, he turned his head jokingly to Qian.

”Dear, do you think Second Brother’s germaphobia and fussiness could genetically pass to the child? Haha, might give birth to a little poker face!”

”I don’t know if Second Brother’s genes would pass to the child or not, but I hope your goofy genes don’t!”

”How am I goofy?” Yu Minglang feeling wronged, why is his wife making fun of him?

Shouldn’t this be the time for a combined gender mockery to take down Mr. Yu, who’s been showing off with Da Yi’s pregnancy? Wife, why say this about him!

”You’re not goofy and you gave me this thing? Eat it yourself!” Qian disgustedly pushed away the newly served roasted beef’s indescribable part by the waiter.

”You said to eat anything? Wasn’t trying to replenish you.”

Isn’t it said you are what you eat? Xiaoqiang felt wronged, clearly, the wife said eat anything, he did, but she’s upset.

”Well, you replenish yourself. Eat egg, supplement egg, hope you don’t get so egg-pained later!”

Da Yi burst out laughing; Second Brother’s mouth twitched, too.

Young couple, they’re truly the clowns of the Yu family.

Only Xiaoqiang muttered mindlessly, while receiving from Qian supposedly very ”egg-supplementing” stuff, internally grumbling.

If the child resembles him, it’s rather cute and lively, but if he inherits the wife’s unpredictable personality, Xiaoqiang likes it but fears they might not find a spouse.

But, even if they don’t, it’s great; he can raise them for a lifetime, haha!

Thinking so, Xiaoqiang took a bite, which Qian found utterly disgusting. Returning home, unless this guy brushes his teeth, don’t think of using his chewed mouth to kiss her, it’s a principle!

After dinner, Second Brother went to settle the bill. The table drank tea to aid digestion, Panpan thoughtfully cooled the tea before handing it to Da Yi.

”Quite a sensible kid, young yet more mature than some much older people.” Qian praised Panpan, still casting a glance at someone.

Yu Minglang pretended not to see, accustomed to his wife’s style of poking fun whenever she got the chance.

Don’t think he doesn’t know, this little rascal just wants to find excuses to avoid returning home for the evening’s reproductive activities. He can’t cave into her wishes; responding to any unprovoked pick-ups from Qian with immovable resilience, basically known as being thick-skinned.

Qian watched him not respond, swearing internally twice, this guy is getting even more cunning.

On their wedding night, someone unabashedly treated her in all sorts of ways and used the stuff Mai sent over. Tomorrow she still needs to go to the detention center with a psychological intervention group, wanting to preserve her strength.

Adults’ surging undercurrents are incomprehensible to children; Panpan looked up seriously, ”Daddy said there’s my baby sibling in Mommy’s tummy. If Daddy isn’t around, I must take care of Mommy.”

It’s the duty of a gentleman! A great honor!

Qian softly pinched his little face, ”So sensible. Xiaoqiang, if we had a son as obedient as Panpan, it would be wonderful.”

It’s true; the child is truly sensible.

Hearing Qian praise Panpan, Da Yi felt happy.

Since childhood, the child has been raised by her side, sharing no less bond than with a biological child, not remembering much, she was already by his side. Now gradually growing, her bond with him is incredibly good, truly an unbreakable mother-son relationship.

Second Brother hasn’t returned yet, the crowd chatted awaiting, during this so-called incident.

A boy around ten approached shirtless with trays, sweat streaming, guessed he’s a relative of the barbecue shop owner, otherwise wouldn’t use such a young child worker.

Running back and forth in the summer heat, unbearable even for adults, let alone kids. Probably due to fatigue, as the child climbed upstairs delivering dishes to customers, he accidentally stumbled, crashing down with a clatter, spilling skewers everywhere.

The table closest to the child immediately stood up to help, the child seeing scattered skewers, showed fear and bewilderment.

Yu Minglang sitting on the outer side also went to check on the child.

”Did you fall badly?”

There was quite a fall, the child hit his head on the table corner, not broken but likely bruised, head being a critical part, even slight negligence can easily cause a concussion.

The child didn’t answer, just looked helplessly at the mess he caused.

Downstairs, the shop’s boss lady heard the sound and yelled.

”What’s going on!”

”Mom... I spilled the trays...” The child answered timidly, looking terrified.

Within a minute, the plump lady boss rushed upstairs, seeing the chaos, without a word raised a hand, slapping the child’s face hard!

She scolded relentlessly, ”I knew adopting such a little troublemaker wouldn’t end well, look at you, just joined us and causing this mess already!”

She spoke while hitting, regardless of the child’s youth or having just hit his head, just directly slapping the kid’s face.
