Return of the Antagonistic Lady Boss

Chapter 65: Chapter 65: There Should Be OCD Here, But There Isn’t

Qian really didn’t understand what Yu Minglang was thinking.

At a time when the lines between neurology and psychiatry are still blurred domestically, the misconception that psychological disorders equal mental illness is rampant.

Obsessive-compulsive disorder isn’t a mental illness, but in the eyes of many, it’s nearly the same concept.

He clearly saw how frightening she looked when she had an episode, yet he still dared to confess?

Is Yu Minglang’s mind different from that of an ordinary person?

Qian looked at Yu Minglang. She used the understanding of him over two lifetimes, applying all the psychology she learned in her previous life to analyze him, yet she still couldn’t understand this man.

”The human heart, like the human body, can fall ill. Your condition is like a cold with a headache and fever. As long as you feel real love, you’ll definitely get better. I believe I have the ability to make you happy. If you aren’t happy, it’s my fault.”

”You?” Qian seemed to want to tear his face apart to see if there was an alien underneath.

Since when did Yu Minglang become so talkative? And everything he said was sweet talk; even a random sentence could sweeten someone to death!

If he had this eloquence in a past life, could Qian have run away before getting married?

Clearly, she couldn’t.

But Qian overlooked the fact that the state she presented to Yu Minglang in a previous life wasn’t like this either. He saw all of her most vulnerable sides in this life, completely triggering his male protective instinct.

”Even though I’m often busy with work and can’t always be by your side, I’ll try everything to prevent you from feeling lonely.”

Yu Minglang finished speaking and found it might not be entirely appropriate.

He shook his head.

”Actually, I’m not as selfless as I said. Confessing to you is not just because I want to take care of you.”

Qian looked at him, wanting to know what else this guy could say.

”Chen Xiaoqian, I want to take care of you, not out of sympathy or anything else, but simply because I like you. It’s you, just you, no second person, only you.”

It’s because of liking that he wants to take care of her.

It’s because of liking that he doesn’t want to see her suffering, without needing a reason or rationale.

It’s just because of a man’s liking for a woman. Don’t ask why; it’s a feeling, like humans don’t know why they are born knowing how to nurse, women reach an age and start wearing makeup, and men reach an age and...

It’s instinct.

Qian was already dazed by this guy’s ultimate move.

She felt her breathing was somewhat rapid, her body felt fully charged with something, and the heat in her heart had nowhere to vent, the warmth making her face flush.

It took her a while to speak.

”You don’t care that I’m only 18?”

”At the beginning, I did care.”

Dating a woman six years younger, especially one still in school, of course, Yu Minglang was conflicted.

”But then I thought, since heaven has sent you to me, I can’t miss it. Back in the day, I could lie motionless for two days outdoors at minus forty degrees, so I can wait for you, wait until you graduate from college. If by then, you think I’m a man worthy of your lifetime commitment, we’ll get married.”

”Heaven...?”

”Your obsessive-compulsive disorder is a test from heaven, also our matchmaker. If I have the ability to care for you so that your OCD can be controlled, the worst things can become beautiful. Chen Xiaoqian, do you think what I say makes sense?”

Qian’s thoughts were chaotic.

Could OCD turn into something good?

She had never thought about this.

All she knew was that this disorder drove her mad. She was a psychologist but couldn’t treat herself. She knew washing hands excessively was wrong, yet couldn’t control it.

But Yu Minglang said it’s a challenge given by heaven to him, given to him, not her. Not being able to cure it meant it’s his incompetence.

Her heart felt chaotic, her face felt hot, she thought this should trigger an OCD episode, with a strong urge to wash hands. Why wasn’t she washing?

Yet, at this time, her OCD didn’t flare up; she just felt a great warmth in her heart, and her face turned even redder.

Damn OCD, why didn’t it act up when it should, and pop out randomly when it shouldn’t?

Flowers bloom and wither in due time; plants can’t control when they bloom, and Qian also couldn’t control the natural psychological reaction caused by Yu Minglang’s confession.

She didn’t know what to think about or do, just stupidly staring at him.

”Since you tacitly agreed, our relationship is now officially established.”

Qian snapped back, glaring at him with a flushed face, ”When did I consent?”

”You didn’t say anything just now. That settles it. Next, we’ll discuss your midnight meeting with Zheng Xu.”

”None of your business.”

”We’re in an officially committed relationship of boyfriend and girlfriend. From now on, I have the right to filter your friends, including some dangerous elements that must be filtered.”

”Says who we’ve established anything!” How thick-skinned could this guy be?

Didn’t hear that! Yu Minglang ignored her opinion, took the paper bag she had put aside, and compared it to something.

”Can I take a look?”

He then covered Qian’s mouth with one hand, talking to himself.

”Hmm, I know you’ll say yes.”

Say yes, my foot! If you dare, take your hand off my mouth! Qian bit him, and Yu Minglang let go, pulling open the paper bag.

Photos of Chen Lin and Qu Xue embracing and kissing fell out, along with Chen Lin’s current debts and his whereabouts.

Seeing these photos, Yu Minglang frowned.

”Did you seriously have Zheng Xu take these?”

”I did. So what?” Without these, how could she get her parents to divorce?

”Why trust him so much? When did you meet?” Yu Minglang felt a deep sense of crisis; his self-claimed boyfriend status wasn’t stable yet.

”Why do I need to tell you? Yu Minglang, don’t push your luck; my affairs are none of your business!”

The sweetness in Qian’s heart vanished, replaced by anger at his domineering attitude.

This guy meddles in everything, even her friendships?

If he thought a self-proclaimed boyfriend title could trap her in a glass bottle and cut her off from the outside world, she’d definitely punch him, preferring death to losing her freedom.

”Your affairs are my affairs now. I have the responsibility to ensure your safety. Zheng Xu is a dangerous character. Stay away from him.”

Zheng Xu was not the same as his brother, Yu Mingli. While Yu Mingli utilized financial intellect to rise step by step, Zheng Xu, though having a strong background, was unscrupulous. He would do anything to make money—much like his little girl.

”I’ll say it again, my affairs are none of your business; just mind your own business!” Qian, used to her independence, couldn’t tolerate this.

”Mind my own business?” Yu Minglang repeated, Qian nodded, then his lips covered hers again.
