Return of the Antagonistic Lady Boss

Chapter 53: Chapter 53: Impressive, Word Yu Minglang

For the meeting with Qian the day after tomorrow, Yu Minglang borrowed a stack of books from the library and began his research.

The book titles were as follows: ”Cold-eyed on Love: Find a Girlfriend in Seven Days,” ”How to Make the One You Love Love You,” ”Postpartum Care of Sows”—well, the last one was just a cover, so people wouldn’t find out what kind of books he borrowed.

Busy with work during the day, he would come back at night to study these, even taking notes.

Finally, the appointed time arrived. Yu Minglang took a few hours off work, changed his clothes, and when he passed by the florist, he stopped the car, pointed at the reddest bouquet, and said awkwardly.

”This one.”

The florist lady smiled brightly; even at night, just before closing, she made a sale. Happy~

The book said that buying flowers could increase likeability, so Yu Minglang, holding the flowers representing his affection, headed toward Qian’s house.

It was already eight o’clock in the evening.

Qian was restless, having washed her hands more than ten times but still unable to calm her nerves.

Yu left her a code saying he would find her that night.

But how late exactly?

It was so late, and he still hadn’t come?

What was he up to? And if he knocked at this hour, what would her mother think?

Even more frustrating, the guy only left a note; she couldn’t reach him at all.

She had no idea what he planned, and if he did burst in, how would she explain to her mother?

Qian’s usually sharp mind was in chaos at that moment.

Suddenly, something hit the window. Qian walked to the window, drew back the curtain, and just as she steadied herself, another hit came.

Qian twitched the corner of her mouth, looking at the man standing outside the courtyard downstairs; his way of appearing was truly alarming!

Using a slingshot to shoot soybeans at someone’s window... Do you really want to be single forever?

If some young girl encountered such a thing, late at night, shooting at her glass with a slingshot, a timid girl might even think it was a vendetta!

Qian steadied her mind, first listened carefully, noticed her mother was not moving, then opened the window, followed the previous path from the window to the rain canopy, then jumped to the gate, and as she jumped up, Yu Minglang immediately stepped forward to catch her~

It feels different when you’ve come to terms with it; even holding a girl’s hand is so natural.

Qian wasn’t wearing a nightgown today; she had on long pants, so Yu Minglang saw nothing.

”Your house design is unsafe; if there were a bad guy, he could easily get into your room.”

Qian punched him, ”Who else besides you, this bad guy shooting at people’s glass with a slingshot, would come into my room?”

This was a village within the city, with neighbors and folks living here for many years, and the security was considered quite good.

”If it were a grown man, it would be easy to jump from your house gate to your room. Make sure to close your window at night.”

Qian’s house design was frankly unsafe.

Qian rolled her eyes; Yu couldn’t say anything decent; look, as soon as he opened his mouth, it was nonsense!

This small action was captured by him, and he found it so cute.

Feeling prickles under his stare, Qian asked, ”Why did you come to see me?”

She spoke while cautiously looking around.

Better not let the neighbors find out; meeting a man at night is not the best talk.

Yu Minglang seemed to know her dilemma, grabbed her hand, and walked toward the car parked tens of meters away.

Who allowed you to hold someone’s hand!

And even held it so naturally! Did you confess? Is the procedure right? Not right, why on earth is she expecting anything, letting Yu lead her astray!

The inner persona of Qian had already started fuming, but she couldn’t break free at all, his grip was particularly strong, and once he held on, he wouldn’t let go.

In the car, Qian sat in the passenger seat, glaring at him fiercely.

”What do you want to say, say it!”

”I, I, I, um...” Yu Minglang stammered the entire way; the opening lines he thought of disappeared completely under the girl’s fierce gaze, and he couldn’t remember anything.

He stammered and stuttered for ages and didn’t get to the point, while Qian watched him, growing more and more fiery, she pulled the car door, ready to get out, who wanted to listen to him stammer forever!

Yu Minglang felt that everything he read the previous day was forgotten; he couldn’t remember a thing from the books.

”I locked the car door; you can’t get out.”

Qian, anger swelling within her, pushed him with her hand.

”You’re annoying!”

Saying things to bully a young girl, you’re quite skilled!

”I have something to say to you!”

Qian silently looked at him, and Mr. Yu, with his healthy complexion, was turning red, even his ears too.

I’ll endure... Qian counted silently in her heart.

Counted to a hundred, and Yu Minglang still didn’t say a word.

The inner little persona of Qian was breathing fire in all directions, and yet she kept enduring with much difficulty.

”What do you want to say to me?” This silence had Qian teetering on the edge of exploding, so she asked first.

”I want to tell you, um, your window isn’t very safe.”

”...So?”

”Next time, I’ll install an anti-theft mechanism for you!”

...haha! Making that thing would only guard against him this villain! After all, who else, besides him, would use a slingshot to shoot someone’s glass!

The atmosphere in the car fell back into a mysterious awkwardness. After speaking about making mechanisms, Yu Minglang went silent again.

Qian waited and waited, seeing him still silent, finally having had enough.

”If you have nothing to say, I’m going down!”

”Don’t go!” He suddenly reached out, grabbed Qian’s arm.

Qian wore a chiffon five-point sleeve, bought by Jia Xiufang from a night market, of not great quality. With his strong force, how could it endure? A tearing sound resounded in the silent car.

And then...

Yu Minglang looked at the piece of fabric in his hand, and the girl’s bare arm; why bare? He remembered the girl’s arm had been wrapped in a pink ruffled five-point sleeve.

So, where did the ruffled sleeve go?

In his hand...

Qian’s face alternated between white and red, red and white, as she raised her hand and snatched back the sleeve from his hand.

”I didn’t mean it... Um, let’s go buy you clothes?” Haha, he finally found a safe topic!

Qian actually wanted to maintain her demure image.

But he made her so angry that she couldn’t care about any image.

”Buying clothes in the middle of the night?!”

Yu Minglang repeatedly failed to make a good impression, realizing he was about to be blacklisted as a no-contact person, and in a moment of panic, he finally blurted out.

”I came to ask if you would like to be with me in marri—”

A shrill ringtone interrupted what he was about to say. Yu Minglang looked down.

Oh phone, why did you ring now!

Qian and Minglang simultaneously thought, oh jeez, seriously!
