After Gender Transformation, I Was Adjusted by the System into the Demon Queen’s Strongest Maid

Camilla was currently sprawled over a scorching rock without any regard for her image, gasping for breath in large gulps.

“Cough cough… cough cough cough!”

Camilla coughed violently, spitting out a mouthful of dust mixed with blood foam.

What the hell was that thing?!

In that instant just now, Camilla had even seen her life flash before her eyes.

If not for her instincts as a high-tier demon saving her at the last moment—desperately using all her magic power to deploy a shield, then scrambling and rolling as she fled toward the outer edge—she would have probably already turned into an abstract mural on the crater wall.

Camilla looked at the enormous crater, then at the still-smoking wounds on her body, her face filled with utter despair.

“When did that damn girl Lilia learn something like this?!”

“She hid it really well!”

Camilla was panicking now.

She recalled how she had recklessly threatened Lilia before, even intending to turn her into a specimen.

Looking at the still-steaming crater before her, Camilla felt a chill on her neck.

If that attack had hit her succubus tower…

Camilla’s voice trembled like a sieve.

She propped herself up, but from exerting too much force, her proud long legs were shaking uncontrollably.

Ignoring her disheveled appearance, Camilla crawled with both hands and feet up onto a nearby high ground, widening her eyes as she looked down into the crater.

Empty.

Aside from the still-radiating vitrified ground, there was nothing.

No headless giant, no black-scaled monster that had beaten her senseless.

And also… no silver-haired little maid.

Camilla’s heart skipped a beat.

“Li… Lilia?”

She called out tentatively.

Her voice echoed through the vast crater, producing a mournful reverberation, yet there was no response.

Camilla swallowed hard. A chill called “fear” surged up her spine, instantly freezing all the sweat that had formed due to the high temperature into icy fragments.

“Hey! You little bastard! Stop hiding!”

Camilla raised her voice, a trace of panic creeping into it without her realizing, “This isn’t funny at all! If you wanted to see me make a fool of myself, you’ve won! Get your ass out here right now!”

No one.

Only the sound of wind passing over the steaming ground, letting out a low wail.

Camilla’s face instantly turned deathly pale.

She had seen it with her own eyes—that world-destroying attack had been released by that seemingly frail human little maid who even struggled to open bottle caps.

That level of magic power eruption—even Her Majesty Hera… might not be able to take it completely unharmed, right?

Let alone a fragile human?

What was the consequence of casting a Forbidden Spell beyond one’s level?

Magic backlash.

Body collapse.

Soul annihilation.

These three words flashed through Camilla’s mind instantly.

That location…

Camilla stared fixedly at the very center of the crater.

That was the origin point of the explosion.

Even that several-hundred-meter-tall monster had been vaporized in an instant—what could possibly remain of the caster at the center?

Not even ashes would be left.

“It’s over.”

Camilla’s legs went weak, and she collapsed directly onto the ground.

At this moment, she could not feel the pain from her wounds, nor the scorching air around her.

All she felt was a despair that seeped deep into her bones.

Lilia was dead.

That little maid was just… gone like that?

Although the girl had a sharp tongue, a dark heart, and held grudges fiercely—

In the end, today’s incident had happened because of the information she, Camilla, provided!

If she hadn’t told Lilia there was an Immortality Society stronghold here, if she hadn’t deliberately omitted the possibility of something big lurking here just to watch Lilia make a fool of herself, if she hadn’t…

Camilla covered her face, deep regret seeping through the gaps between her fingers.

But what made her even more despairing was what would happen next.

Hera.

Because of the information she provided, Lilia had died here.

Without even a corpse left.

Camilla couldn’t even imagine what Hera’s reaction would be upon learning this news.

Skinning her alive and tearing out her tendons?

That would be mercy.

Extracting her soul and stuffing it into the body of the lowest-tier Lesser Demon, letting her suffer eternally in the mud at the deepest layer of the Abyss?

That was something Hera would actually do.

“I was really stupid, truly.”

Camilla stared ahead blankly, “I only knew this girl was ruthless, but I didn’t expect her to be this insane! Who taught her this kind of mutually assured destruction fighting style? Isn’t this screwing over your teammates?!”

Run?

Running would be considered desertion—an even greater crime.

At that point, it wouldn’t just be her suffering; the entire succubus race would be dragged down to be buried alongside her.

“Forget it.”

She raised her hand and swept her messy hair back, revealing a face that, though covered in dust, remained breathtakingly beautiful.

If death comes, so be it.

But at least, she had to clean up this mess.

She couldn’t let Her Majesty see such a chaotic disaster.

Camilla stood up, taking a deep breath. In those once enchanting purple eyes, only a tragic resolve remained.

“Men!”

She amplified her voice with magic.

In the distance, several surviving succubus scouts cautiously poked their heads out from between rocks.

“M-My lady…”

“Cut the crap!” Camilla’s face turned cold, all her usual laziness gone, replaced by long-lost iron-blooded decisiveness, “Pass down my order—seal off the entire Dark Moon Basin! Within a radius of fifty li, not even a fly is allowed to leave!”

“Yes!”

“Gather all earth-element mages. Immediately, right now, fill in this crater…”

Camilla pointed at the enormous meteor crater, the corner of her eye twitching, “…fill it up! Erase all traces in the surrounding area!”

“And also…”

Camilla paused, her gaze falling once more upon the empty center point.

Her eyes dimmed for a moment.

“Go prepare… prepare some flowers.”

Her subordinates were stunned. “Flowers? How many?”

“As many as you can get.”

Camilla’s voice lowered, as if speaking to herself, “Cover it… cover this entire area.”

Even if not even a body remained, there should at least be a proper place for Her Majesty to remember.

This was also the last bit of insignificant compensation she, the “culprit,” could offer.

“What are you all standing there for? Move!”
