After Gender Transformation, I Was Adjusted by the System into the Demon Queen’s Strongest Maid

Succubus Tower.

Lilia pinched her nose, her face full of disgust as she stuffed the parchment map into her chest.

“I mean, can’t you at least open a window for some air?”

Camilla, who was sitting on a red velvet chaise lounge, rolled her eyes.

Today, she was wearing a purple deep-V gown, the slit in the skirt ridiculously high. Her two long, dazzlingly pale legs were completely exposed as they rested on the obsidian tea table, her toenails painted a vivid crimson.

“You really don’t understand charm, you little brat.” Camilla lazily exhaled a ring of smoke, the gemstone embedded in her smoking pipe glittering under the sunlight.

“Then you can enjoy the smell slowly.” Lilia turned to leave. “Thanks for the map. When I get back, I’ll treat you to malatang.”

“Stop right there.”

Camilla withdrew her long legs and slid off the chair like a beautiful serpent, instantly blocking Lilia’s path.

A rich fragrance rushed toward her.

Camilla looked down at her from above.

“You’re really planning to go alone?”

She extended a finger, trying to lift Lilia’s chin, but Lilia tilted her head and avoided it.

Lilia took a step back, pulling a safe distance. “Hundreds of human slaves, plus those lunatics from the Immortality Society—you think a mere maid like me is going there to throw my life away?”

She shrugged, her hand naturally resting on the hilt of the short blade at her waist. “No need for you to worry. Fortune favors the bold. If I didn’t have some ability, I wouldn’t dare take this job.”

“Heh, stubborn.”

Camilla chuckled softly.

It would be best if this little fox died.

Ever since Lilia arrived, Her Majesty the Queen’s gaze hadn’t lingered on her for even a second. Though it hadn’t lingered much before either, at least everyone used to be equally invisible. So why should this silver-haired fox suddenly become a favored ornament?

“Since you’re so confident, how about…” Camilla’s eyes shifted, and she licked her red lips, “I go with you?”

Lilia’s heart skipped a beat.

What kind of joke was this?!

Tonight, Hera was personally leading the team. If she tagged along, wouldn’t that turn a date into a three-person outing?

Bah, bah, bah… what three-person outing.

“No need!”

Lilia rejected decisively, her voice so loud it startled Camilla.

Camilla narrowed her eyes, sizing Lilia up and down.

Strange.

This little brat used to act like a mouse in front of a cat whenever she saw her—why was she so tough today?

And…

Camilla’s gaze suddenly froze.

Her eyes fell on Lilia’s left hand.

On that slender, fair ring finger was a silver ring of ancient design, made of some unknown material. There were no gemstones set into it, only a circle of intricate and obscure runes engraved on its surface.

“What’s that?” Camilla pointed at the ring, frowning.

“Just something I picked up from a street stall.”

Well, it was indeed picked up from the ground…

“A street stall?” Camilla withdrew her gaze suspiciously.

Makes sense.

With Lilia’s status as a poor maid, what good thing could she possibly have? If it had been a reward from Hera, it wouldn’t be such a worthless piece of scrap metal without even a trace of magical fluctuation.

She must have been too tense lately and imagined things.

“Fine, if you’re looking to die, I won’t stop you.” Camilla sat back on the chaise lounge and waved her hand like she was shooing away a fly. “Go on, go on. If you die, I’ll kindly collect your bones and feed them to the dogs.”

“I’ll take that as a blessing.”

Lilia felt as if she had been granted amnesty and immediately turned to run, so fast it was as if a dog were chasing her.

Watching Lilia’s disappearing figure at the doorway, Camilla thoughtfully stroked her chin.

“I always feel like… this little fox is a bit off today.”

That confident demeanor didn’t look like someone going to die—it looked more like… someone going to bully others with backing?

……

Night fell.

Two blood moons hung high in the sky, casting the entire Palace of Eternal Night in a dark red glow.

On the balcony of Hera’s Bedchamber.

For convenience in action, Lilia had tied her silver hair into a neat high ponytail.

“Ready?”

A cold voice came from behind.

Lilia turned back and instantly felt her breath catch.

Hera was dressed in a black windbreaker. Underneath was a fitted white shirt, with two buttons undone at the collar, revealing a delicate collarbone.

Below, she wore a pair of slim black trousers tucked into knee-high military boots, making her already long legs look even more impossibly long.

She was casually adjusting her cuffs.

This outfit… was too cool.

She looked like a restrained, desireless final boss straight out of a comic.

“Have you stared enough?” Hera raised her eyes. “Keep looking and I’ll charge you.”

Lilia’s face flushed red, and she quickly withdrew her gaze, standing at attention. “R-reporting to Your Majesty, preparations are complete! Ready to depart at any time!”

“Then let’s go.”

Hera walked to the edge of the balcony, the night wind whipping her coat hem, making it flap loudly.

“Your Majesty, how are we going?” Lilia stepped closer and asked carefully. “By teleportation array?”

“Hold tight.”

Hera uttered two words calmly.

In the next second, Lilia felt her waist tighten.

Hera’s arm wrapped around her waist without warning.

“Ugh—”

A strong sense of weightlessness and dizziness struck at the same time.

When her vision cleared again, Lilia found herself standing on a massive rock.

Below her was a bottomless canyon, jagged rocks lining both sides like the fangs of a demon. In the distance, faint ghostly lights flickered.

Dark Moon Canyon.

“Up ahead?”

Hera released Lilia and looked toward the faint lights deep in the canyon, her gaze as calm as if she were looking at a group of dead people.

Lilia quickly took out the map Camilla had given her and compared it, lowering her voice. “That’s right, it’s that location. According to intelligence, the Immortality Society will hand over that batch of ‘goods’ at midnight tonight.”

She glanced at the sky. “Half an hour left.”

Hera nodded but did not act immediately.

She found a relatively clean rock and sat down elegantly, crossing her long legs. She even took out a small flask from somewhere and tilted her head back for a sip.

“Wait,” Hera said.

Lilia was stunned for a moment. “Master, shouldn’t we set up an ambush in advance?”

“Ambush?”

Hera swayed the flask in her hand, the corner of her lips curving into an extremely arrogant smile.

“That’s a tactic only the weak need.”

She pointed at the darkness below the canyon.

“Let them trade. When everyone’s gathered, we’ll kill them all at once.”

Lilia: “……”

As expected of you, a bulldozing-type player.

At that moment, Lilia’s 【Absolute Senses】 suddenly caught a trace of something unusual.

It wasn’t from below the canyon, but from… the forest on the left.

Someone was watching them.

Lilia’s heart tightened, and she was about to speak up to warn her.

But Hera suddenly extended a finger and gently pressed it against her lips.

“Shh.”

Hera didn’t look to the left, still watching the canyon below, but her voice directly echoed in Lilia’s mind.

【Don’t move.】

Lilia was stunned.

Immediately after, the ring on her left ring finger grew slightly warm.

Through the shared senses of 【Conjoined Heart Lock】, Lilia instantly “saw” everything Hera perceived.

Less than five hundred meters away, behind a cluster of bushes, a figure in a purple long dress with a voluptuous figure was lying in the grass, holding an alchemical telescope and sneakily observing their direction.
