The hivemind is conquering for me?

After a few more questions about how my science and Psionics worked in symbiosis, Hecate put her book away. ”Thank you Apollo, forgive my curiosity, that is not the reason why I called you in here, like I said, but I just could not help myself, you are quite the unique young man and I find you very interesting. I can see why Nerissa is fond of your company.”

With her name prompted, I looked around the room for Nerissa, I just realised I hadn’t seen her since my conversation with Beth. ’Where did she get off to?’ Hecate didn’t wait for my reply and continued.

”I pulled you away from the rest of the group as they are going to be busy planning and readjusting their plan for the summoning circle thanks to your insight. While they are busy, I thought I would help you with any Psionic problems you are currently facing? Any shortcomings? Anything that needs strengthening? Are you stuck at any bottlenecks? Tell me and we can proceed forward together.

Hecate then sat forward and rested her head against her hands as she looked at me with a glowing smile.

”Oh, um. Thank you.” I said, mildly surprised. ”I suppose I could use help with my Gyrokinesis.”

”Your Gyrokinesis? That is what helps you with your jumping, correct? Gravity manipulation is an ability I do envy and wish to acquire. What do you need help with?”

I lean back in my chair and raise my hand. ”Two things. First, I need to learn how not to drain myself when trying to overwhelm a stronger Psionic wielder. I recently sparred with Nerissa and when I use my Gyrokinesis on her, I just get sapped.”

Hecate then interjected as her eyes looked in thought. ”Hmm. Yes, I can see that. Your ability I can see being unbelievably powerful against non Psionic beings. You can just pin them down and run them through without effort, but against stronger beings... Apollo, use it against me real quick. I want to understand the feeling of your Psionics against my own. Worry not, my defences shall not retaliate.

She then stood up and wheeled around her desk to my side. I shrugged my shoulders and stood up, placing my hand against her shoulder and as soon as I applied my Psionic energy towards her I was sucked dry instantly.

”Woah, what the shit?” I said shocked and slightly scared. The woman not only took my Gyrokinesis instantly, she then sucked all of my Psionic energy from my body without me applying intent. ”You are way stronger than I thought.” I admitted without jealousy.

”And your resilience is remarkable Apollo, Most would keel over for a quick nap if I sucked them dry like that. Might I add? What an abundance of energy you have! For your age you are basically an entity of your own. This is incredible. It is so pure and powerful. Yes... I can work with this. Oh, and go and bring Valerica back in the room. Before she gets any bad ideas. We can start in a moment.”

”Oh, Hecate, I wanted another thing for my Gyrokinesis.” I added.

”Hmm? Oh, yes, you said two things, go ahead.” Hecate gestured for me to continue. I turned my head slightly a little shy about this one as it sounded a bit childish, but it was something I wanted for a long time.

”So, in the low gravity of the moon when we arrived, I was finally able to make myself float with my Gyrokinesis In this artificial gravity and denser gravities, I am still incapable of this feat. My end goal is to be able to fly, not just being able to jump the way I do.”

As though mocking me, Hecate then lifted from the ground and crossed them mid air, but the look on her face suggested otherwise as she appeared deep in thought. ”Hmmm, I can see how your Gyrokinesis might be capable of this, but I am going to need more of your energy to figure out a plan and I will need to see you attempt to perform the feat in person... I’m going to have to suck you dry a few more times. Drink this.

She then obtained and threw me a vial with a green liquid inside from a small wormhole. I looked at the liquid and pulled the top off, it smelled slightly gross, but I shrugged my shoulders and downed the thing.

”Bleugh... Tastes like grass smells. Oh wow.” I said as I felt my skin become incredibly sensitive to the absorption of Psionics back into my body. Hecate smiled seeing this. ”Not only do you just do what you are told, you seem to understand what the tincture is doing for you. Good. Go let Valerica in and you can relax until you feel comfortable with another sucking.”

I nodded my head and went to open the door, the moment it was unlocked, Valerica barged through the door screaming. ”Get your filthy rat claws off... Him... Now? Oh.” Valerica paused her protective mode upon realising that rat claws was just floating in the air away from her baby.

”Apollo are you ok?” She asked, grabbing my arm, prompting me to flinch and suck my teeth. ”Oh no! I’m so sorry, what happened? Did she hurt you? Hecate I swear by my life if you put a hand on my boy I am going to-”

”Mom.” I said, prompting a hasty heel turn on Valerica’s part as she turned to me with a radiant smile. ”Yes, my son?” The smile was filled with so much love, I felt my stomach tingle, but that might have also been the drink I have taken.

”I am fine, Hecate just gave me a drink to help me out. It’s made my skin sensitive, that’s all.” Valerica nodded her head. ”Oh, ok. What was the drink for?” Using the term that had already been used, I explained.

”Hecate just sucked me dry, the drink is just speeding up my recovery time so she can suck me dry again.”

Valerica then heard a high pitched ringing in her ear as she began twitching uncomfortably. ”Valerica? Are you ok?”

My question seemed to fall on deaf ears as Valerica turned around towards Hecate and spoke in a low tone. ”I told you not to do anything to my son and now you do this? You are a dead woman.”

Hecate looked confused. ”Valerica? What are you talking about? All I did was suck him- Oh, I see the confusion.” Seeing she had a dense moment of her own as her mind was purely focused on Psionics, she suddenly activated her defences just in time as a fist threatened to turn her face into meat paste.

...

A few hours later I was sitting down on the floor sweating buckets. Valerica, who was wearing my shirt over her sports bra, bent down and handed me a glass of water. ”Thanks.” I replied and inhaled the contents.

After the misunderstanding, and realising that Valerica had a really dirty mind to create the misunderstanding, Hecate sucked my Psionics a couple more times till she was satisfied. I wasn’t sure what she was doing with them, but she did compliment my Psionics and recovery rate after each sucking.

After that, I was instructed to do the meditation technique I use to focus my Gyrokinesis into my elevation technique. It had been a little while doing this properly, but I got straight into it. The same problem after each attempt was still there. Just as I am about to lose full contact with the ground, I would then expel all of my energy and land back down roughly.

This was on repeat for the last couple of hours until now, Hecate had not said a word the entire time, only instructing me to rest and start again over and over. Her eyes however, were not silent. They were calculating, watching my every movement both Psionic and physical.

I felt oddly calm with the sensation. It felt like I was at home and that lingering presence, Jewel, was always watching me doing whatever it was I was doing with pure joy and curiosity.

I smiled softly thinking about my Jewel. I loved how understanding she was about me leaving her side for a while and was super excited the pulsar was not attached to the house so I could use my far sight to see her tonight.

I was then pulled out of my thoughts by Hecate who declared. ”Your Gyrokinesis is much different compared to my own levitation. It is a lot more grounded in the fundamental laws of the universe. This is exciting stuff. Ok Apollo, I won’t keep you any longer the others have already left for the day. We will resume next week and not only will I try and figure out a way to help you with all the data you have provided me and I will also pour over some other research into the subject in the library, but we might also be able to summon a Psionic entity thanks to you in the next meeting as well so look forward to that!.”

I stood up and nodded my head. ”Very well, thank you Hecate. I look forward to working with you going forward.”

Hecate nodded her head also, her smile unable to contain itself.

”Oh trust me, Apollo, the feeling is more than mutual.”
