The hivemind is conquering for me?

Janine was enjoying the scenery as she walked back home. She decided she could use a little bit of fresh air before heading back home to odd ones. Especially considering she had been studying that technique all week and now she definitely would be studying these discs to exhaustion.

The thought left a smile on her face. Here she was, with actual Psionic information in her own hands. All thanks to her best friend who was so different to every other human in this pit stain of an empire.

Before her mind could begin to daydream about Apollo, like usual, she suddenly realized someone was walking alongside her. ”Uh... Hi?”

The fellow Sepiidan smiled at her before replying. ”Hey, sorry I didn’t want to announce myself, you looked deep in thought. I’m Myu.”

”Janine.” Janine replied simply.

”Oh, I know. You are with that Apollo aren’t you? Lucky gal.” Janine’s eyes narrowed as she turned her attention towards this Myu, a tension building behind her eyes, expressing her hostility.

Myu giggled at this. ”Oh, don’t worry honey buns, I’m not here to talk about that purple haired hunk, I am here to talk to you.” Janine kept her gaze upon the pretty sister for a moment before sighing.

”Fine, what do you want to talk about? You have until I get home.” She said, adjusting her course. Myu smiled, knowing exactly how long that was. ”Fair enough. First of all, can you answer a curiosity of mine?”

Janine sighed once more, knowing exactly what he question was going to be thanks to her previous annoying friend. ”I filed them down to the point they won’t grow back. It is easier to hide my identity with helmets that way. Yes it hurt at the time. No I don’t miss my horns, they were massive and weighed a shit ton as a girl.”

Janine then sighed as her words caused Myu to sniffle. She then sighed again before reassuring the sister before her crying caused a scene. ”Look, don’t see it as mutilation, ok? I like the way I look now, my horns are not a factor. Besides, I now have the luxury of long hair without the risk of snagging. My horns were high, pointed inwards and had a lot of ridges, so you could imagine the nightmare my current hair would have had with those.”

The picture of Janine’s current long wavy hair with the horns described prompted Myu to laugh after sniffling a bit. ”Yeah, snag town. You would have to have a short bob or something for sure. Mine are quite long, but at least they are off to the side.”

Janine smiled and nodded. ”Yes, I will admit, I really like the blue of your horns, very cute.” Myu smiled at the compliment and was about to reply, before Janine cut her off. ”So, do you want to get to the actual point you came over for? Or should we just resume foreplay?”

’Smart.’ Myu recognised immediately. ’Good. I won’t have to sugar coat things.’ ”Heh, I like foreplay, but if you want to rush to the main event, sure. I simply wanted to know if you wanted to meet the rest of the gals? Now, you are probably thinking no, you have your man and are very happy with him. I mean, you even attended classes with him, that takes some will power right there. But what about when he goes away for expeditions? We know he is doing that, he got called away for private training yesterday. When that happens, you will be all alone, won’t it be better to have some friends around when the time comes? We are all in the same boat after all. We don’t want to see anyone sink into loneliness.”

Janine paused in place and turned to Myu. ”You want me to join your friend group? That’s it?” She asked, surprised. She had it in her mind that the Sepiida wanted to talk about Apollo, so for her to actually just invite her to hang out, she decided to give fair warning and see the Sisters reaction.

”Um, I am a reject Sepiida. Will that be an issue with you and the rest of your friends?”

Myu looked uncomfortably sad hearing this and looked at Janine with pitty. ”Oh... Loose pussy? Yeah, I have heard that that is becoming more and more common with the newer generations. Don’t worry about- ”-My Pussy isn’t loose you!” Janine stopped herself, she was in public and was getting looks for shouting that sentence. She took a deep breath and spoke in a hushed tone.

”For your information, mine is tight and my grip immaculate, I’m a reject due to my aggression.” She said, partly true as the other part is no longer relevant, mostly.

Myu opened her mouth in understanding and nodded. ”Oh, ok. Well, if your man likes it, I guess it’s not a problem? It won’t be around our group anyway, we aren’t catty at all. A few might make a few comments on your looks to make themselves feel better, but that is just usual jealousy that will pass quickly as you are quite the looker, but other than that, we all get along great and would love for you to join us? What do you say?”

Janine was about to politely decline. She appreciated the offer, she didn’t expect the friendliness at all, but she wanted to go home and study her new Psionics. However, Myu then continued.

”It is my friend Sue-Anne’s birthday today, she is turning three hundred and has bought three million credits worth of booze for the party curtesy of her partner, wherever the fuck he is. All top of the shelf stuff, probably some stuff you have never heard of. At the very least if you don’t like the company you can get... What’s the word... Shitfaced! Hehehe~ In a massive house with no guys there to ogle at you.”

Janine pretended to be in thought for a moment, but with all that booze, she had already hatched a plan to turn Apollo on later. ”Sure, why not? That actually sounds fun.”

”Yay!” Myu yelled with delight and intertwined her arms with Janine. ”You are not going to regret this, I promise! Come on, let’s go!”

...

”Fascinating, simply fascinating. And even as your body was destroying itself, you were able to still heal yourself with your science alone?” Hecate asked me. I nodded my head.

”Well, technically my teacher stabilised me, I was in agony and could barely think straight, but even after her stabilising, I was still at risk and the decay was still there, I just finished off the job under a lot less burden.”

”Wonderful, simply wonderful. The fact you are still sane after enduring what I could only imagine as the worst pain in existence is a credit to your Mind Apollo. Your mental fortitude is something else. Though I suppose that does explain what Beth told us about you and your Mindspace before chewing out Valerica. You have the willpower to do things no one else would be brave enough to do. That is- Sorry, need to pause. Getting worked up.”

Hecate then closed her eyes and focused on calming down as I watched on. It only took her a few moments to compose herself by whispering under her breath ’He is a child.’ I didn’t take offence to this, to her viewpoint I might look like one with the age gap, but personally, age gaps mean nothing to me. My boo was a couple million years older than I was after all. It’s all down to personal preference.

When she finished her little mantra, she used telekinesis to change the page in her book and dived right back into questioning. ”So, your decay was a result of your limiting yourself with your genetic enhancements and that is why-” ”-No, sorry, that is wrong, my weaker form a few months ago was not a fault of my genetic enhancement at all.”

Hecate then puckered her lips in thought. ”But you told me that your body could not handle your current power and that the anti Psionic beam just made it worse?”

I nodded my head, ”Yes that was true, but it was not my science’s fault. I can’t tell you the actual reason, but in broad terms, I came in contact with something that was drip-feeding my body with power. My body had not enough time to adapt to the changes. Psionic enhancement or no. If anything, my enhancement gave me enough time to get home and treat myself, I would be dead otherwise. In summary, my issue was that my body did not have time to adapt to my power growth as it was too fast, not that my limitations were exceeded. My body can still grow past my current parameters set by my enhancements slowly, like a muscle being trained. There is a point where it cannot go further and I need to get rid of the growth and height suppressants to allow more power to fuel my body, but I would not decay like I did ever again. It was a fluke.”

Hecate was incredibly intrigued by what was just said. The fact that his science can boost the efficiency and power of his body and Psionics was definitely worth investigating herself, but something caught her attention the most in that sentence.

”Apollo, did you say you suppress your height?” I let out a soft giggle. ”Oh yeah, sort of hard to think about that when I am seven three and before this about six seven huh? Yes, in actuality, don’t tell anyone else this by the way, I think I would be about nine or ten feet about now? Maybe a little larger? But I prefer smaller proportions currently and like filling up my body’s potential first before needing to expand.”

Hecate gulped and feigned casualness. ”Interesting.” As she scribbled that down, but internally she was screaming.

’What the F...’
