Undead Mage from a Cell

Chapter 1123: Chapter 1121: Gu Xi’s Busy Days

After returning to Yalidov, Gu Xi hardly had a moment to himself over the span of six days.

As soon as he awoke, his subordinates would drag him into handling all sorts of things.

Sometimes, he would accompany Eve in various spells research.

The level of the magic tower in the Maze Demon City had reached Level 5, primarily focusing on fire and earth magic, most of which were not available in Yalidu City.

These spells needed to be adjusted and backed up to Yalidu City.

At the same time, some researchers needed to be dispatched to the magic tower in the Maze Demon City for more in-depth study.

The situation in the underground city was a significant pitfall.

Even though it qualified as a city with powerful magic, it lacked corresponding magic system troops and researchers within the city.

It’s unclear why the underground city needed to build such a powerful magic tower.

Although Gu Xi didn’t understand the reasoning behind it, there was no reason to waste the already constructed magic tower.

Eve had been occupied with these tasks during this period.

Whether it was sending people to study the application of magic or transcribing and backing up magic to Yalidu City, it required a lot of manpower.

Gu Xi occasionally had to be conscripted, acting as a tool for transcribing or studying magic.

Moreover, Brave Fight and his Demon Sacrifice Camp were temporarily dispatched to the Maze Demon City.

The purpose was to transcribe all the magic there first.

Afterward, Brave Fight would revolve around these new spells for research, to see if they could form a magic ceremony to incorporate into battles.

Besides this, Gu Xi had other matters to handle.

Luna sometimes needed to learn how to control the newly acquired orange armor. When Luna was unavailable, Gu Xi had to take over the management of Yalidu City.

Shaya would occasionally bring back new intelligence, the kind divined for results. Since it concerned his own life, Gu Xi needed to study it carefully.

Finally, even Eldest Princess Anna wasn’t idle either, with the Westminster Cathedral big event dungeon opening for the fourth time.

Whenever Gu Xi had free time, Eldest Princess Anna would drag him through a round within the dungeon.

Due to Gu Xi’s strength, he handled the initial bosses of the dungeon quite easily. But with the commencement of the group instance, as more troops got involved in the instance, Gu Xi’s strategy for the dungeon slowed significantly.

Whenever faced with a choice, or encountering difficult enemies, Gu Xi and Eldest Princess Anna would first exit the dungeon to slowly study the approach.

Anyway, the group instance wasn’t urgent; once outside, the time within the instance would stop, so Gu Xi didn’t worry about changes occurring inside when he left.

With so many tasks piled on Gu Xi, he hadn’t rested well for several days.

Even eating was done while working, stuffing food into his mouth as he went about.

At this time, it must be noted that since having the Maze Demon City, the variety of food in Yalidu City had noticeably increased.

Gu Xi finally got to eat proper meals meant for humans.

No longer having to choose between owls, rats, or snakes.

At least this made Gu Xi’s stomach feel more comfortable.

These busy days lasted until Luna finished her study on the Orange Mirror Demon City and initially grasped most of its effects, marking the end of a Chapter.

”My lord, you’ve worked hard these days.”

”It’s nothing. If a person doesn’t push themselves, they won’t know their full potential.”

Upon hearing this, Gu Xi laughed.

Although he was tired these few days, he felt extremely fulfilled.

”But these were originally tasks we should have done.”

”That’s also fine. I need to partake in battles; through combat and work, I can always learn something. Now that you’re back, I can temporarily set aside the affairs of Yalidu City.

In the coming period, I will focus on handling the group instance matters professionally.

Never thought that fighting in group instances would be much harder than regular ones.”

”That’s normal. After all, the enemy levels in the group instance are higher, and enemy troop numbers have increased.

Yet, the rewards from a single group instance can match those from ten regular runs.”

”Indeed,” Gu Xi affirmed with a nod.

Not to mention, just the number of enemy troops in the group instance was enough for Gu Xi to be fully satisfied.

The undead summoned on-site with the Soul Summoning Skill, corpses retrieved from battlefields, and those transformed and integrated into Yalidu City through Double Death.

The group instance hadn’t even been underway long, yet Gu Xi’s forces had gained approximately six thousand new undead.

Most of these were level 10 and above, quite a significant gain.

Based on Gu Xi’s assessment in the group instance.

There were at least seven or eight more waves of such enemies, and further within these enemy ranks, Gu Xi noticed the presence of boss-type and hero-type entities.

After level 10, heroes truly earn their title.

Their combat power is roughly two to three times that of ordinary soldiers.

If given the chance, they could battle seven to eight soldiers of the same level simultaneously and triumph.

If there were more heroes, forming a combat squad, they could even penetrate through a thousand-strong force or directly eliminate a boss of the same level.

In the current group instance, later enemy configurations were pretty much like this.

A thousand-man team included two to three heroes, over thirty elites, and over thirty bosses, along with a large number of warriors and ordinary soldiers.

If Gu Xi couldn’t achieve a level advantage, the battle would be extremely challenging.

For this reason, Gu Xi had to fight intermittently.

After taking down a thousand-man enemy team, they would retreat to rest and strategize on how to tackle the next.

They’d organize the recently gained troops, and if possible, Gu Xi would conduct undead transformation, preparing a new batch of undead corps.

Such an approach naturally slowed the progress of the group instance.

But both Gu Xi and Eldest Princess Anna saw the benefits of this slower pace.

Neither minded the recurring exits from the instance; both seeing this as the most reasonable combat strategy.

Gu Xi wouldn’t recklessly waste his troops even with Double Death under his control.

His current plan was to amass forces to tackle unforeseen challenges.

Upon handing over Yalidu City’s management to Luna, Gu Xi planned to devote more time to the group instance.

But just as he was preparing to contact Eldest Princess Anna to capture the first boss of the instance, Shaya brought in the latest intelligence.
