Ice Age Apocalypse: I Hoard Billions of Supplies

The battle between Lie and the Lord of the Charnel Ground was an extremely brutal and bloody conflict.

The Lord of the Charnel Ground’s strength was indeed not bad, but when it came to actual combat, his experience was far too lacking.

Just like in the arena, having a powerful body and sharp claws wasn’t enough; you also had to be skilled at leveraging your advantages to win.

Compared to Nasha’s Grand General, the gap in experience between the Lord of the Charnel Ground and him wasn’t just a small margin—it was a chasm.

He fought back desperately, trying to project the momentum befitting the leader of the Esoteric Sect, but from start to finish, he and Lie were simply not on the same level when it came to combat.

A savage, mocking grin twisted across Lie’s face as he treated the Lord of the Charnel Ground like an amusing punching bag, unleashing one barrage of attacks after another, as dense as a storm!

“Muda muda muda muda muda muda muda!”

Fists rained down like a violent tempest onto the Lord of the Charnel Ground’s body. The tremendous force, combined with Explosive Fist’s secondary damage, left him utterly exhausted, swaying like a flickering candle in the wind.

His body was finally sent flying with brutal force. Even as he raised his right hand in desperation, trying to borrow power from the Buddha that the Esoteric Sect worshipped, the energy that poured into his body quickly drained away.

He was already too weak—so weak that he could no longer bear the weight of a millennium’s worth of sacrificial offerings.

Lie’s massive shadow loomed over him entirely.

His wild red hair writhed like flames, his appearance reminding the Lord of the Charnel Ground of the demons depicted in the Esoteric Sect’s scriptures.

“Not bad. You’re worthy of dying by my hand!”

With that, Lie clenched his enormous fist, wrapped in Fierce Wind, and with a “Boom!” smashed it heavily into the Lord of the Charnel Ground’s head.

“Smack!”

The young head burst open like a watermelon.

The Lord of the Charnel Ground of the Esoteric Sect had fallen in battle at the hands of Nasha’s Grand General, Lie.

But Lie didn’t waste a moment. Before the Lord’s origin could dissipate, he pinched the corpse with two fingers, lifted it, and tossed it into his own gaping mouth.

“Crunch, crunch.” He chewed the bloody mess and swallowed it down his throat.

Instantly, he felt a surge of immense power flooding into his body.

Lie patted his stomach with satisfaction, his savage grin growing even more brilliant.

In Nasha, there were few strong enough to rival him, and he couldn’t very well go around hunting other Grand Generals or the royal nobles.

So, having such a perfect prey to hunt had filled him with excitement.

At this moment, he clenched his fists, feeling the power erupting from every limb and bone.

“Oooohhhh!!!! I can feel it! This sensation of power surging forth—it’s too damn wonderful!”

He stared at his own body in exhilaration. His already towering giant-like frame began to grow even larger, stretching another five or six meters taller!

He licked his lips, then suddenly looked up at the Holy Spirit Hall in the sky.

“As I am now, I’m probably the strongest existence in all of Nasha! The King is old. What right does that sacrificial spirit have to be inherited by his young son? The world should belong to the capable!”

A cruel smile curled at the corner of his mouth. Then, his powerful legs slammed into the earth, and with a single leap, he shot toward the Holy Spirit Hall above like a cannonball.

“Boom!!”

He broke through the Holy Spirit Hall’s barrier.

The guards at the entrance tried to stop him, but he simply crushed them into paste with his hands.

Lie fought his way straight into the Holy Spirit Hall, reaching its highest point—the chamber where the sacrificial spirit was kept.

Young Prince Anlite stood before the sacrificial spirit, waiting to absorb its immense power.

Lie let out a booming laugh: “Prince, this sacrificial spirit’s power is far too vast. You can’t handle it. Better let me take it!”

When Anlite turned and saw that the intruder was none other than the kingdom’s Grand General, Lie—and that Lie’s aura was now even stronger than before—his expression shifted.

“Lie, what are you doing here! Get out! The sacrificial spirit belongs to the royal family!”

Lie spat contemptuously onto the ground.

“Pah! Treasures of the world have always belonged to those with the strength to claim them! What is your royal family anyway?”

He charged forward without hesitation. In just a few moves, he snapped Prince Anlite’s neck. Then he walked toward the massive red crystal, his eyes glazed with obsession as he reached out to touch it…

…

The Lord of the Charnel Ground gazed calmly at the red-haired giant before him, slowly placing his right hand over his chest and exhaling a long breath.

His right arm had been scorched by blistering heat, reduced almost to a withered limb.

But under the blessing of a mysterious power, flesh slowly regenerated, restoring it to its original healthy state.

Lie stood frozen in place, eyes vacant, still holding an attacking posture—yet a savage, smug smile hung at the corner of his lips.

It turned out that much of what had just happened was nothing more than an illusion he had seen.

Within the teachings of the Esoteric Sect, there existed a method called the [Six Senses Dharma Gate]. It referred to the six innate senses of sight, hearing, smell, taste, touch, and consciousness.

Legend had it that monks who cultivated this method to the highest realm could freely control their own six senses—and even influence the senses of others.

In ancient times, enlightened Venerable Monks often used illusions to guide worldly beings toward enlightenment.

And the Lord of the Charnel Ground’s ability was precisely the [Six Dusts Distinguish Consciousness].

As long as one found a crack in a person’s heart, they could exploit their intense desires to trap them in an illusion.

Within that illusion, one could obtain everything they ever wanted, forgetting themselves and losing track of where they were.

Even when they realized it was an illusion, they would be so lost in indulgence that they refused to accept reality.

Thus, this was the hardest illusion to break.

Because people always loved to drown in pleasant things, unwilling to wake up—preferring instead to deceive themselves.

Watching his arm recover, the Lord of the Charnel Ground couldn’t help but sigh, “What a powerful Tri-Eyed Clan member. If I hadn’t received the blessings of the Esoteric Sect, I might not have easily overcome him.”

Several Dharma-protecting Vajras beside him leaped out, weapons raised, eager to kill Lie immediately.

“No!”

The Lord of the Charnel Ground stopped them at once.

They turned to him: “Lord of the Charnel Ground, why won’t you let us kill him?”

The Lord shook his head: “You can’t kill him. Instead, you’d only jolt him awake. Then subduing him again would be a nightmare.”

Killing a Black Chariot-level reinforcement-type superhuman—especially a Tri-Eyed Clan member with such a formidable physique—was an extremely difficult task.

The Lord of the Charnel Ground feared that even a single blow from him might not be enough to finish the job, and would instead snap Lie out of the illusion.

And once [Six Dusts Distinguish Consciousness] was seen through, it could never be used on the same person a second time. If that happened, even paying a far greater price in sacrifices might not be enough to restrain him.

“Then… what should we do?”

The monks exchanged glances.

The Lord of the Charnel Ground said calmly, “He’s already trapped in his own world, unable to extricate himself. Unless he awakens and realizes that all worldly things are but fleeting illusions, his will won’t recover. Just leave him here and don’t bother with him anymore.”

Upon hearing this, the monks respectfully bowed to the Lord of the Charnel Ground and silently withdrew behind him.

After a moment’s thought, the Lord walked over, hoisted the giant’s enormous body onto his shoulders, leaped into the abyss of Nasha, and placed the corpse in the deepest, darkest recesses.
