Ice Age Apocalypse: I Hoard Billions of Supplies

Suddenly, the light before his eyes was gone, and alarm bells rang loudly in Zhang Yi’s mind.

“What’s happening? Am I blind?”

“Or have I been attacked?”

“No, if I had been attacked, my All Things Follow Traces should have warned me. So why was there not the slightest reaction?”

“Or… maybe this isn’t an offensive power at all, but something that simply blocked my vision, making me unable to see or hear?”

Thoughts spun through Zhang Yi’s head as he raised his alertness.

He had already wrapped himself in Manifold Phenomena to avoid any attack reaching him.

At the same time, voices from Yang Xinxin and the others sounded in the comms channel.

“Brother Yi, what’s going on? Why has it gotten dark around us? We can’t see anything.”

When Zhang Yi heard Yang Xinxin and Zhou Ke’er’s voices, he confirmed that he hadn’t lost his senses; instead, the surrounding space had changed.

However, he did not receive any communications from Old You, Liang Yue, or Fatty Xu.

Zhang Yi quickly tried to contact them, but got no response at all.

He immediately concluded one thing.

He was being constrained by some kind of ability and pulled into another space.

“A spatial-type ability?”

Zhang Yi’s gaze swept coldly around, but to the west and in all directions there was only darkness, nothing at all.

Then, in the next moment, a wisp of fire shot up from the darkness, and a grating laugh filled his ears.

“Ahahaha!!”

From the blackness appeared a huge clown.

Only its upper body was visible. It wore a black suit with a bow tie, an exaggerated red-and-white clown hat perched on its head, and its face was painted in garish watercolors, making it particularly ridiculous.

Seeing such a gigantic clown would startle anyone.

Zhang Yi, however, understood that this had to be the ability of some superhuman.

But for someone to silently activate a power and pull him inside like this, their strength had to be enormous!

This was different from the time they’d been tricked by Batu.

Back then Zhang Yi and the others had deliberately fallen into Batu’s trap; this time, he had been dragged into someone else’s domain without warning.

“Hee hee hee! Welcome to the Demon Casino!”

A chilling laugh issued from the clown’s mouth as its giant eyes drooped, coldly staring at Zhang Yi.

In front of it, Zhang Yi looked tiny, like a toy.

But Zhang Yi didn’t sense any murderous intent directed at him.

And according to the Smart System’s feedback, the clown was speaking Mandarin.

“A clown manifestation, Mandarin… Could this be a superhuman under Gao Changkong?”

“No, or is this some kind of rule-based ability that materializes differently depending on who enters?”

Zhang Yi made those calculations in his head.

The clown suddenly turned and made a beckoning gesture.

From the dark void a beam of light appeared, illuminating an area ahead.

There stood a stage no wider than ten meters in diameter. At its center was a table covered with black cloth.

Opposite the table sat a giant Tri-Eyed Clan figure dressed head-to-toe in white finery and wearing a white pointed top hat.

He slowly raised his head, revealing a face so pale it had no blood, and his narrow eyes shone with the predatory delight of someone looking at prey.

He tipped his hat as if making a formal greeting to Zhang Yi.

“Welcome to the Demon Casino, honored guest!”

The being spoke.

Zhang Yi couldn’t understand what he was saying.

But by now Zhang Yi knew everything here was controlled by the figures before him.

“Is this the Demon Casino’s rule set?”

“The clown is the ability’s embodiment and explains the rules according to the prey, so even if I’m human it can communicate with me in that way.”

“But I still can’t understand the Tri-Eyed Clan’s language.”

Just at that moment, a mechanical voice came from the Smart System.

“Based on Hua’s language memory, Tri-Eyed Clan language parsing has been completed, real-time translation now available.”

Zhang Yi had stayed in Nasha for a while, and with the help of the local human Hua had collected a lot of linguistic data.

All that combined allowed the Smart System to perform a basic translation of the Tri-Eyed Clan tongue.

Soon Zhang Yi understood what the Tri-Eyed Clan had said.

He coldly looked at the massive Tri-Eyed Clan figure and asked, “Who are you?”

The Tri-Eyed Clan smiled slightly. “Strange hairless rat, you don’t even recognize me?”

His gaze suddenly turned cold as his huge body leaned forward.

“Or are you not a local Nasha hairless rat at all, but one who came from the outside?”

Zhang Yi sneered and didn’t answer.

But his right hand had already drawn out Holy Judgment.

Just as he intended to strike, he inexplicably felt a force restrain his movement.

A shocked chill ran through Zhang Yi.

He couldn’t draw his blade!

Not only could he not strike, he couldn’t even use his superhuman ability to attack!

An icy cold gripped him; he felt as if he had fallen into an ice pit.

For the enemy to possess such power—how strong would that be?

At the very least around three thousand points… no, possibly much higher!

Unable to act, was he simply meant to wait for death?

No, this couldn’t be right!

The superhumans he had faced before—the Lord of the Charnel Ground, Gao Changkong, and Lancelot—had not been this overwhelmingly powerful!

At that moment, the gigantic half-bodied clown in the void offered an explanation.

“Honored guest, within the Demon Casino, the only way to resolve disputes is to join the gambling game!”

“Here, any form of attack other than gambling is forbidden.”

“Of course, if you wish to kill your opponent, you may bet your life on the table.”

When Zhang Yi heard this, his mind suddenly cleared.

So the one he faced was a rule-based superhuman.

“Only gambling can resolve disputes?”

Zhang Yi frowned.

He wasn’t skilled at gambling; in daily life he only played Fight the Landlord and guandan casually.

The Tri-Eyed figure in white finery, who possessed such an ability, was surely an experienced gambler.

From the start, the situation was against him.

At that moment, Yang Xinxin’s voice sounded in Zhang Yi’s ear.

“Brother Yi, every rule-based ability has a way to counter it.”

“Gambling is a contest of probability and psychology. With me here, you don’t need to worry about that.”

Zhang Yi said, “But luck still plays a large part. Are you saying I might die here?”

Yang Xinxin replied, “That’s why we need to first understand the rules here. Why don’t we ask that clown over there?”
