Chapter 938: Chapter 743: Guest Reception Etiquette

Vegetable market.

Damn it, why!

Switching from a place full of profitable transactions to a vegetable market? Are you out of your mind?

Anyone with half a brain can tell there’s a trap!

”To be honest, I’m not worried about Huaizhi Gang targeting our small assets at Wang Tangzu.”

Wang Tangzu’s leader spoke with a heavy border accent, looking worried: ”We have no objection to switching, but the problem is, when the vegetable market is gone, getting something in return is another matter.”

The Charity Association nodded in agreement: ”This is really baffling.”

”Yes, yes!”

In the end, the leader of the Yellow Village Team could only keep nodding, repeating in agreement.

”But, you dare not switch either.” The president of Fukushima Association said with a troubled look: ”Our family business is small, not even close to Jin River Association’s size. If we annoy that killer maniac, what will we do when he comes knocking at night?”

”It’s very dangerous.”

”We must be cautious!”

”Yes, yes.” The Yellow Village Team Leader continued nodding, awkwardly repeating the previous words.

”For now, everyone please hear me out.”

The president of Fukushima Association sighed deeply; it seemed impossible to rely on this group for any ideas, and he had to propose something himself: ”I say, switching is inevitable, but how to switch... that’s the problem.”

”Indeed.” Wang Tangzu’s leader nodded: ”This is the most likely area to encounter issues.”

”Yes, yes.” The Yellow Village Team Leader had already given up thinking.

”Everyone here knows that our Fukushima Association has some ties with the Arakawa Family, just a bit of goodwill left from the old patriarch, so there’s no need for us to fear Huaizhi Gang’s dominance.”

The president of Fukushima Association had a sharp gleam in his eyes: ”Therefore, as I see it, since Huaizhi Gang isn’t acting in good faith, we don’t need to adhere to any underworld rules—doesn’t he want to exchange? Demand more from him, regardless of whether he gives it or not, after signing the contract, we’ll go to the Arakawa Family and have the head stand up for us. I don’t believe Huaizhi Gang dares to renege!”

”A brilliant plan!” The president of the Charity Association’s eyes lit up upon hearing this.

”Indeed a good idea!”

”Yes, yes.”

Immediately, Naruto Association’s president finally lifted his eyes, revealing his cunning intentions: ”However, since it’s the old man’s initiative, utilizing my connections, shouldn’t the major share of the divided assets come to me?”

Seeing someone trying to take a larger piece of their pie, everyone became alert.

”That’s open to negotiation.”

”Indeed, the proportions should be well-discussed...”

”Yes, yes.”

...

In short, despite some bumps in the road, the matter was eventually successfully settled. The groups united to oppose Huaizhi Gang’s dominance, aiming to seize a significant piece of meat from this exchange!

Therefore, ever since entering the reception room, these old geezers hardly showed a friendly face, instead, they condescended to the outdated and tacky decorations around them.

After sipping the tea served, they clicked their tongues twice and put it aside.

Showing disdain.

Just like that, waiting silently until, gradually, gradually, the footsteps outside neared!

The meeting room became dead silent, everyone’s breath suddenly quickened.

The door was pushed open, and the young man hurried in, lifting his head to offer them a warm smile: ”Ah, sorry for the wait, some issues needed handling, you haven’t waited long, have you?”

”Humph, actually making us...”

The president of Fukushima Association just snorted through his nose when the young man looked over. Quietly and peacefully, pure black surged in those eyes, delicate like ink gemstones, emitting an unsettling light.

On his head, the curved horn resembled an Evil Ghost, but the one on his forehead was already broken.

The sharp edge glinted with an iron-cold gleam, faintly revealing menace.

Fukushima Yoshimasa’s voice hesitated, his eye twitching slightly, suddenly squeezing out a smile: ”...Letting us rest this long, the Group Leader of Huaizhi really has a heart.”

”Ah, that’s easy, that’s easy.”

Huai Shi nodded, just about to say something, but his brow suddenly furrowed, unable to hide his anger.

The atmosphere in the meeting room instantly suffocated; even breathing became labored.

While everyone was uneasy, they saw him furiously slap the table: ”These people downstairs, have no clue about hosting, after serving the tea, they just vanished?!

The tea’s cold already, don’t they know to change it? Yamashita! Yamashita, where the hell did you die! Did I teach you to host like this!”

With a thud, the cups on the table jumped up, spilling turbid splashes. The sharp scraping sound of porcelain seemed to scrape everyone’s hearts, causing their pulses to halt momentarily.

Outside the door, the man hurriedly ran in, bowing deeply: ”Apologies, apologies...”

”If saying sorry worked, would rules matter!”

With a clang, a short knife was tossed in front of him, Huai Shi rebuked: ”Are you puffed up, not knowing reverence! You must feel shame, do you understand?”

”Yes!”

Yamashita nodded, picking up the knife from the ground, suddenly walking forward, his face grim. Before anyone could react, he slammed his hand on the table, then grabbed the knife, directly stabbed it through onto the table beside his little finger.

’Thump’!

Immediately, he roared intensely:

”Yamashita apologizes to all the bosses!”

As blood was about to be spilled on the spot, the president of the Fukushima Association turned green, hurriedly grabbed Yamashita’s hand, and tried to dissuade him: ”Don’t do it, you mustn’t!”

As he spoke, he gestured to the people behind him as if to say, what are you idiots waiting for? If you really let him do it, don’t be surprised if you end up losing a finger!

Suddenly, everyone reacted, frantically: ”Cough, cough, no need for that.”

”When you get old, you should drink cold tea, we deliberately served cold tea!”

”Yeah, I just love chilled tea, cold dishes cool you down...”

”Exactly, exactly!”

The Yellow Village Team Leader continued repeating.

”Is it really like that?”

Huai Shi asked suspiciously.

The group nodded like pounding garlic.

In an instant, the storm cleared, and Huai Shi’s anger dissipated: ”It turns out I misunderstood, sorry, sorry.”

”No, no problem.” Everyone wiped their sweat and nodded with forced smiles.

”Alright then, Yamashita, there’s no more business for you here, you can go now.” Huai Shi waved his hand: ”Don’t let it happen again, okay?”

”Yes!” Yamashita sheathed his knife, bowed, and turned to leave.

The meeting room returned to silence.

And Huai Shi, scrutinizing their faces, revealed a smile.

The smile seemed overly familiar, like a fierce beast examining its meal...

”I assume everyone understands what I mean.” Huai Shi spoke, slowly saying: ”To avoid any misunderstandings, let me reiterate, I’d like to exchange a few of our Huaizhi Gang’s territories for the goods you have...”

Bang!

A muffled sound echoed, the table suddenly shook, interrupting him.

Fukushima Yoshimasa slammed the table, suddenly stood up, and shouted with a deep voice: ”No! Problems!”

”What?” Huai Shi was stunned.

The others were also stunned: Damn it, Old Turtle, why aren’t you doing as agreed?

”Uh, Mr. Fukushima, there’s no need for such excitement,” Huai Shi said, ”You should think it through...”

Bang!

Another muffled sound, the president of the Charity Association stood up, solemnly saying: ”Group Leader of Huaizhi, what are you talking about, we’re all brothers within the alliance, rounding up, the Huaizhi Gang is our brother!”

Saying this, he raised his pitch, ”Just a small vegetable market, no problem at all!”

”Yeah!” The Wang Tang Group Leader came to his senses, raised his hand intending to slam the table, but as Huai Shi turned to look, he froze, put his hand down, and nodded frantically:

”Forget about exchanging, we’re happy to give it for free!”

At this moment, the Yellow Village Team Leader felt terrible: What the hell, you guys aren’t sticking to the plan! Did you take some medicine? Even the Alliance’s Bosozoku aren’t as quick to turn around as you are!

Most importantly, you guys have already taken all the good lines, what the hell am I supposed to say now!

”...”

In the dead silence, under everyone’s gaze, the Yellow Village Team Leader hemmed and hawed for a long time, his face turned red, and finally he stiffened his neck, glaring:

”Me too!!!”

Thus, the dust settled.

Today, again, the repeat machine won big...

.

”Well then, farewell, I won’t see you off.”

After signing the agreement and stamping it in black and white, Huai Shi smiled as he escorted a few team leaders to the door, and the team leaders also enthusiastically bid farewell repeatedly.

Just like that, he watched this group of old men leave.

Meanwhile, Yamashita emerged from the corner again, peered in the direction the old ghosts were departing, and snorted: ”A bunch of fools, even thinking about extorting money from the Huaizhi Gang.”

”Seems they know what’s best for them.”

Huai Shi shrugged, feeling regretful that the chest breaking stone segment he arranged didn’t get a chance to go on, and recalling this situation, he slapped his forehead, pointed behind him: ”Quickly, tell Long Village to cancel the chest breaking stone program, don’t let Ushijima stand shirtless in the yard, isn’t it cold?”

Turning back, Huai Shi instructed Takuma emphatically to quickly implement the territory exchange deal, stamp it and send it to the President to finalize it, then start the next phase of market renovation and vegetable supply bidding.

Speaking of supermarkets in Yingzhou, they’ve always had issues, the vegetables on the shelves are all in small boxes, and even slightly defective items with wilting leaves aren’t accepted, they won’t even sell them.

It’s simply crazy, they’re not spoiled, and perfectly edible... Anyway, it’s better than buying rotten vegetables and stinky fish and shrimp next to mosquito and fly-infested stinky sewers. By then, getting a batch of defective items at a low price for discount resale, wouldn’t that open up the market...

With his mind casually thinking about all sorts of things, Huai Shi sat near the entrance, waiting for Ueno to drive back.

Once he sorted out the upcoming operations a bit, the car was already parked at the Huaizhi Gang’s gate.

The window rolled down, revealing Akasaki’s sour face.

Every time he sees him, Huai Shi is genuinely curious: How can someone with an approval rating of over 80 still not show a good face?

What’s this? Yingzhou’s special brand of tsundere?

Akasaki glanced at Huai Shi, his brows furrowing involuntarily: ”Are you planning to wear that to the Empire Casino?”
