Chapter 924: Chapter 735: Sponsorship

In just one day, so many things have happened since the president took office, continuous changes left people unable to figure out what was going on.

In the morning, a series of people were caught, and the lower-level members were thinking about how there would be a crackdown. Those with criminal records planned to lay low. But before lunch was even finished, people were released, and it seemed there was some shady deal with the police department.

And before the afternoon was over, the Angry Luo Group was finished.

The people who were originally packing up to flee, immediately felt like something was going to happen this time, right?

However, still nothing happened... Huaizhi Gang easily swallowed all the industries of the Angry Luo Group, smoothly as though they had rehearsed with both sides countless times.

Before the banquet started, new rumors began circulating among the gangsters.

Hey, did you hear about the Angry Luo Group? Yeah, the leader’s dead, swallowed up, yep that’s right, the very same. Even before this, the deputy head and cadres of the Angry Luo Group were already members of the Huaizhi Gang, the leader had been sidelined long ago! Just think, how could it be so smooth otherwise? Not even a cry for revenge, they surrendered completely. Ah, pity the leader, even at death a fool, so tragic...

In all kinds of crazy rumors, there were people vividly describing how Huaishi had just walked through the door, with a tiger’s roar, the deputy head of Angry Luo Group pulled out a gun and shot their own boss from behind, kneeling in surrender, it was as if they were there on the scene, seeing it firsthand, truly couldn’t be more real.

Others said, as soon as Huaizhisu People took over the Fujimoto Group, they generously invited everyone in the Tanbo Inner Circle to drink beer. At that time, the deputy head of Angry Luo Group slapped the table in public, looking left and right saying: This is truly my master!

And this Huaizhisu People isn’t ordinary, handsome faced, ruthless character, just like Shuten Douji reborn, ’Like the demon seed descending from the heavens, truly the God of Age on earth.’ To ensure no one suspected, he even pretended to be a Minotaur. He took anyone who knew the truth from before and slaughtered them all, scattering their ashes into Kyoto Bay.

Just at the doors of Tobio Family’s house, the underlings driving for their boss squatted by the door, sharing smokes, vividly recounting the fantasy versions they heard from distant relatives.

The young man who came to bum a smoke listened and smacked his lips: ”To hear you all tell it, it’s not that magical. Huaizhisu People are just ordinary people, like you, one nose and two eyes, nowhere near what’s rumored.”

”Hmph, talk like you’ve seen him!” The man speaking wasn’t pleased, glaring over.

The young man froze, like he was stumped by the question.

”Honestly speaking, I have seen him.”

The man speaking laughed mischievously, took a puff of smoke, and said, eyebrows dancing: ”That day when Huaizhi Gang handed out beer, it was the gang leader himself who gave it to me, I asked if there were ice cubes? He said: Sorry, all finished, next time let’s continue drinking! Ah, that beer really tasted good...”

At this point, the man smacked his lips, reminiscing the taste of the free beer.

”Really?” The person next to him was incredulous.

”Nonsense, who in the business doesn’t know me as ’Ayi who doesn’t lie’?” The previous man patted his chest wide-eyed: ”Could it be fake?”

The young man who came for the smoke finished his cigarette, chuckling as he sat on the steps listening. Until someone next to him nudged his shoulder, pointing far off to the man with the scar on his face: ”Your boss is calling you.”

”Ah, okay, thanks.”

The young man got up, patted his knees, waved to the others: ”Let’s continue chatting next time, I’ll be off first.”

Amidst a chorus of responses and goodbyes, the young man smiled, walking toward the ferocious man waiting at the gates. One person who lingered to go to the bathroom turned around and saw, the ferocious man surprisingly bowed respectfully toward the young man.

”Boss, there’s not much food left at the nearby convenience store, just some bread...” Ueno took the bag in his hand, respectfully handing it over.

”Bread’s fine, not that picky.” Huai Shi picked out two from inside, ”You have some of the rest too.”

”Isn’t there supposed to be a banquet soon?”

”When the time comes it’ll be chaotic, probably won’t be able to eat, better to fill up a bit so you’re not negotiating on an empty stomach.” Huai Shi leaned against the tree by the door, seeming like an outsider, watching the people coming and going out front.

Curious people glanced over, but their gaze quickly shifted away, at most thinking in their hearts, which family’s underling is so lacking in manners, standing in front blocking the view.

While the row of sharp men greeting and sending off by the door remained expressionless, not daring to look over, mechanically bowing to welcome.

Before long, Huai Shi finished eating the bread, folded the bag and stuffed it in his pocket, wiped his mouth, then accepted the bottled tea Ueno handed him, drinking two sips and finally feeling like there was something in his stomach.

”It’s about time, I’ll head in first, if you’re bored outside, feel free, no need to stand here.”

Huai Shi turned back with instructions, walked a few steps before stopping, patting his forehead, turning back: ”Right, can’t just smoke for free, later buy some beer for me, make sure it’s chilled.”

He laughed softly: ”Just say the ice cubes ran out last time, this time we’re making it up to them.”

Ueno looked bewildered but nodded respectfully.

And Huai Shi had already walked forward, hands in his suit pockets, waving his hands casually in farewell to the astonished looking drivers, stepping into the banquet hall.

Inside the dusk, Tobio’s vast mansion was brightly lit.

In the hall, on either side of two long tables, those who had already taken their seats were laughing and chatting, the servants serving tea hustling back and forth. And as Huai Shi stepped in, the original clamor halted for a moment, then resumed.

This time, quite a few people looked over, breaking the previous indifference and estrangement, smiling warmly.

”Your status has risen, Huaizhi-kun.” Lawrence sitting cross-legged behind a corner table flicked ash off his cigarette, praising unreservedly: ”You did well this time.”

”Which job are you referring to?” Huai Shi sat next to him.

”All of them.” Lawrence admired as he glanced at Huai Shi: ”I heard you even managed to connect with the Ryuzanbo people while in jail, that’s really something.”

”Let’s not beat around the bush, okay? If you want details, just ask directly.”

Huai Shi rolled his eyes,

it’s not surprising that Green Day is curious about this.

The Alliance surely has eyes in the Police Department, wanting to check things out before rescuing someone, but everyone got into trouble, except you. Not only did you have no issues, but you also had drinks and pork cutlet to enjoy and met with people from Deer’s Sing Hall.

If they didn’t have such trust in ’Lihua’, never doubting, Tobio might’ve ordered to arrest this scoundrel Huai Shi and drown him in Kyoto Bay without hesitation.

Moreover, such things aren’t worth hiding, Huai Shi candidly spoke the truth.

”The person from Deer’s Sing Hall was a woman.”

Hm, telling half the truth is still the truth.

Lawrence stared blankly for a while, looking at Huai Shi’s face, ash falling onto the table before he came to his senses, sighing from his heart: ”I gotta say, your face is damn ridiculous!”

”Born this way, nothing I can do.” Huai Shi asked calmly, ”Anything else you want to ask?”

”Didn’t really have much to ask.” Lawrence shrugged helplessly: ”But you’ve been too active lately, everyone’s a bit anxious, you know?”

Huai Shi paused for a moment, then replied: ”Things might get even more active soon.”

Lawrence thought for a moment and comforted: ”The Angry Luo Group isn’t a big issue, you may be a member of the Alliance now, but you’re also with Green Day. If Tobio’s demands are too much, you have room to negotiate.”

”Actually, this was all self-initiative.”

Huai Shi didn’t blame it all on Tobio, ”Order of Nothingness is imperative, gotta find ways to strengthen myself...”

Before finishing, a pair of glowing green eyes landed on Lawrence, making him feel uneasy: ”What?”

”Well, Green Day can’t just watch as their own suffer, right?” Huai Shi moved closer, rubbing his hands: ”Can you give me some support?”

Lawrence couldn’t help but roll his eyes.

”Support? What kind of support?” he asked: ”Just nod, and tomorrow I can send you a hundred Sublimators wanted all over, male, female, old, young, take your pick—guaranteed fighters, guaranteed fierce... but can you handle it?”

Huai Shi started rolling his eyes too.

If Lawrence really sent them over, the Astronomical Society’s Black Envelope might arrive before they do.

”Isn’t there something less risky?” he asked.

”Why else would it be called Green Day?” Lawrence said: ”Green Day doesn’t lack people who can fight and cause trouble, Huai, what it lacks are people like you who can be in the spotlight. Green Day won’t stand idly by for you, nor will it help you too much openly... you’re not at the stage of living on the run yet.”

Unbelievable.

Green Day advising him to forsake evil and embrace good, if not for the wrong timing, Huai Shi would have started ”The Light of Green Day” directly.

This is bizarre!

”Alright then.”

Huai Shi gave up on milking Green Day, simply saying: ”I’ll figure a way to get sponsorship from Tengu Mountain myself.”

That was his goal all along.

From the start, he didn’t rely much on Green Day’s help, just used it for groundwork.

On one hand, he understood Green Day’s nature, on the other, he knew his own status.

As a newcomer, who does Huai Zhisu think he is? A complete novice, just signed the allegiance few days ago, like a newbie just signed on expecting the leaders’ focused cultivation and arrangements... does he think Green Day is his family?

Lawrence was stunned for a moment, then recalled Huai Zhisu’s background, slightly enlightened.

Yingzhou since ancient times has been inseparably close in relations between sumo and Tengu. Winning a hundred men’s worth of strength from Tengu sumo, tales of all sorts of Tengu sumo are countless.

Besides being a Chef Demon’s sanctuary, Tengu Mountain itself is a significant force at Yingzhou’s Border, linked with various local religions, temples, and even Hell in numerous ways, considered a reputable figure, an old pillars among Five Mountain Sword Sects in Yingzhou’s martial arts...

Even if Huai Zhisu people have no relation with Tengu Mountain, Huai Shi is an old acquaintance, with Ryuzanbo’s help things are much more convenient.

Moreover, just using Tengu Mountain as a facade for cover, not actually looking to get anything, at most asking Ryuzanbo to send an empty package would suffice.

It’s like money laundering, you need a legitimate source to facilitate upcoming actions. Through this, his token and strength can be legalized.

But... being here, can’t return empty-handed right?

Huai Shi once again looked up, those green eyes focusing on Lawrence beside him, deciding to take something back.

Then, a gentle call was heard.

”Huaizhi-kun, over here, over here...”

At the head position, ’Tobio Lihua’ showed a ’shy’ smile towards him, her eyes crystalline, waving warmly: ”Come quickly~”
