Chapter 913: Chapter 728: The Long Night (Part 3)

They offered the last performance for this restless night.

As expected, to maintain stability and order, the Alliance did not publicize God City Future’s identity and purpose to everyone, but instead blamed Hisashiga, who was unfortunately backstabbed by God City.

To prevent the esteemed Mr. Tobio from becoming the president, the traitorous Alliance member ’Hisashiga’ secretly colluded with external forces and madly manipulated Lord Jiutiao’s corpse to start a rebellion.

This bastard Hisashiga not only violated the chivalrous way but also lost all humanity by using his compatriots as test subjects to research forbidden drugs, truly a crime deserving of death.

His sneaky actions had long been seen through by the sharp-eyed president, and with the help of the loyal Huai Zhisu People, the president swiftly quelled the rebellion, righted the chaos, and finally brought clear skies to the Tanbo Inner Circle...

Although Lawrence was not pleased with how he ended up in the ’etcetera’ part of the story, there was indeed no more appropriate way to handle it.

With consensus at the top level, the bizarre and tumultuous Alliance came to an end.

For many in the Alliance, the night had only just begun.

Changes in position, power transitions, dividing territories, calming people’s hearts, promoting cronies, exchanging benefits...

There were so many things to do.

And amidst countless busy affairs, no one noticed that there seemed to be some trivial matter that was overlooked.

But since it was a small matter, there was no need to worry.

Everyone thought about it, couldn’t recall, and then put it out of their minds, continuing with their joyful trading...

And on the other side of Kyoto, the night was long and endless.

When the morning sun weakly crawled up from below the horizon, it illuminated the sullen old face of Ozaki Mitsuharu.

After enduring a night with all the elite and countless weapons, the leader of the Iron King Party sat on the steps at headquarters’ entrance, looking down at the dew on his battle robe, then up at the dazzling sun.

A heartfelt doubt arose within him.

”Didn’t those bastards say they were going to attack?”

He slowly turned around, scrutinizing each anxious face, and softly asked, ”Where are the people?”

”They... they probably got lost, right?”

Someone mustered the courage to answer, only to be sent flying by the loud roar of a shotgun.

”Lost?!”

Ozaki Mitsuharu’s eyes widened as he roared in fury, ”Lost all night? It’s less than a twenty-minute drive, and in all this time, I could have walked to the Tanbo Inner Circle myself! And you tell me they got lost?!

Weren’t those damn dogs supposed to attack us?”

He shouted, ”Where are they? Where are they?!”

No one responded.

Only the sharp laughter of passing ravens was left in the distance.

In the silence, Ozaki Mitsuharu looked at those fearful faces and suddenly lost the will to be angry. He lowered his head in fatigue, dropped the shotgun, and turned to walk outside, sitting on the steps, gazing at the gradually flowing traffic outside.

A deep sense of grief and indignation welled up inside him.

Every time you say you’re going to screw the dogs, every time you say it... but the dogs are always ready, yet you never show up.

The long night was so lonely.

”It’s too much, daring to deceive me like this...”

He raised his hand to wipe away the bright and bitter tears at the corner of his eye.

Under the illumination of the morning sun, Ozaki Mitsuharu once again grasped the wandering and sorrow of the human world.
