Chapter 878: Chapter 704: Savior (2)

Huai Shi, who was silently observing from the side, tilted his head back and drank the wine in his glass, sighing silently.

”It feels like they actually have a bit of human touch, right?”

Ai Qing’s voice came through in the communication.

”Indeed, it’s somewhat unexpected.”

”Even the most heartless people might keep a cat, Huai Shi.” She laughed coldly, ”I should have let you experience the trials and tribulations as a junior at the Yoshida Meeting first... When the company is founded, the boss says everyone is family, guess if you’ll be included in the shares.”

Huai Shi was lost for words.

Meanwhile, Ai Qing looked up and examined the organizational structure chart of the Fujimoto Group on the big screen, beginning to introduce Huai Shi to the scope of business and profiles of several leaders within the Fujimoto Group.

Leader Fujimoto, Wakagashira Yamashita, Brother Kamiya, Advisor Takuma, Director Long Village, Wakamono Takase...

The combined prison terms of just a few people here are enough for a newborn baby to endure until five generations are united in prison.

With only seventy-plus small factions as formal members, the Fujimoto Group barely manages to stand its ground in the Tanbo Inner Circle.

They rely on things beyond regular activities like filming certain movies and loan sharking, including manpower dispatch and other intermediary-type jobs. Typically, they introduce some hybrid countrymen to work black labor, extracting substantial shares from it... For some hybrids, just having a job to avoid starving is already good, the Fujimoto Group is practically benevolent.

As for sending wreaths and checking on small ball stores, these are just trivial daily businesses.

Sending wreaths in Yingzhou is not as serious as in Dongxia, it’s more like sending a flower basket in the company’s name when a new store opens on the street.

A subtle notice: Brother, pay the protection fee...

Such a third-rate gang has managed to survive for over ten years now, first relying on Leader Fujimoto’s smart mind, adept at adapting, always expanding new income sources.

Secondly, relying on the support from Green Day as a former peripheral member, receiving care from the Big Five.

Considering Green Day’s recent frequent activities, it is indeed an opportunity to infiltrate Green Day.

If not for this reason, Ai Qing wouldn’t have placed Huai Shi here. Now, it seems a brilliant move. Upon joining Green Day, he was obviously treated as a close confidant by Fujimoto, and his status within the Fujimoto Group has also risen.

However, Huai Shi is more confused by Green Day’s true intention.

”What exactly is Green Day up to?”

He absentmindedly tackled the plate of edamame in front of him, pondering deeply.

No matter how much he detests and dreads Green Day, he cannot deny this fact—they indeed brought brief peace to this group of homeless hybrids.

That a notorious terror group worldwide would spare no expense to infiltrate Yingzhou just to stand up for these trafficked hybrid girls.

”Isn’t that normal? Are you caught up in binary thinking again? Is your mind wired with diodes?”

Ai Qing sighed in frustration, ”Just like how such a massive organization like the Astronomical Society must have dark sides, Green Day being the largest terror group globally, how could it lack one or two admirable highlights?”

Huai Shi paused for a moment, ”Are you suggesting Green Day is indeed the righteous guardian of hybrids?”

”In terms of brutality and bloodshed, Green Day might really resemble those old God Spirits, except, they might not be just or kind.”

Ai Qing coolly asked, ”Do you know the original origins of organizations like Extreme Path, gangs, or even the Mafia?

Without exception, at first, they were nothing more than mutual aid groups like the Temperance Club. Can you say mutual aid is wrong?

People crave order, unable to live amidst turmoil and chaos. Games have rules to continue playing. Nobody likes a world where even batteries are unavailable.”

But do you know how many steps are involved in battery production? From raw material to rough processing, to being sent to the factory, then shipped worldwide as a product, finally bought from the convenience store, and placed in your remote control... it relies precisely on a universally valid order.

For people to live, they must rely on the existence of order, however bad it might be.

But if unable to find protection within the order, if abandoned by the original order, then people instinctively turn elsewhere, seeking a place to shield them... it’s unrelated to human kindness or evil.

After fairness and rightful rights disappear, helpless people can only huddle together for warmth, seeking new authorities, relying on village accords, clans, or organizations.

Even if those authorities are starkly corrupt and terrifying.”

”You must have seen that movie, the adoration civilians have for the Godfather is precisely the admiration for this authority. You know he’s steeped in blood, but you need someone who can stand up for you, a savior to provide refuge.

Especially in Yingzhou, where discrimination is almost publicly displayed, one can’t survive without grouping... It’s unfortunate, Huai Shi, for many, Green Day is the Savior, the Astronomical Society is too distant.”

In silence, Huai Shi shook his head unwillingly, ”But do they have a choice?”
