Chapter 877: Chapter 704: Savior

In the end, the people from Green Day still took the plastic bag.

No idea what they plan to do with it.

But it’s Green Day, having a few more weirdos is no surprise. Maybe it’ll come in handy somewhere; otherwise, why would normal people want someone else’s head?

The assessment was considered passed, for now.

After offering the pledge of loyalty, everyone becomes a hero of Liangshan. Later, we’ll feast on meat, drink wine, and share the gold in big scales. Once we storm the Six Isles of Britain, occupy London, and capture the Jurisdiction Bureau Decision Room, the big leader becomes the Emperor, the small leader the Second Emperor, and you continue to be the second fifth...

Thinking of this, Huai Shi couldn’t help but sigh, sitting in the passenger seat, smoking, and filled with worries.

In the driver’s seat, Fujimoto took out a thick envelope from his pocket and handed it over: ”Alright, stop moping. This is your share.”

Huai Shi pinched the thickness, opened it, and found it wasn’t the currency with the huge exchange rate discrepancy, Yingzhou currency, but the strong source substance exchange currency—US dollars.

All of them are of the largest denomination.

By the end, there was around three hundred thousand! At a four-to-one exchange rate, that’s about one million two hundred thousand Dongxia Coins!

”This...”

Huai Shi was astonished, ”Is this for me?”

Filled with surprise, not because of the amount, but the thought: Did your villainous organization really pay salaries for the job?

”Just consider it a windfall. Jobs like this are rare, and those two didn’t take any, I didn’t do anything either, so if you need the money urgently, just take it.”

Fujimoto felt a twinge of pain, a bit reluctant as he asked, ”Or... should I hold onto it for you first? You’re so young, with money, you’ll definitely spend it recklessly. Later, I can give it to you monthly. Don’t worry, would the boss swallow your money?”

”Hehe.”

Huai Shi showed a simple smile, directly tucked the envelope into his pocket, with a look of ’I don’t know what you’re talking about’.

If the money’s in my hands, do you still want to...

The thought hadn’t even finished when Ai Qing’s reminder came in his ear: ”Huai Shi, the stolen money needs to be recorded and filed.”

The money in hand instantly lost its appeal!

Huai Shi lowered his head in bitterness, trembling all over, hands and feet cold, almost unable to hold back fragile tears.

—Your Astronomical Society, how are you even harsher than Green Day!

Fujimoto noticed his change in expression, linked it to his file, and thought he remembered his seriously ill parents, immediately sighed with empathy, raised a hand and patted his shoulder.

”Alright, don’t be sad. So many Russians died today, we should celebrate somehow, call everyone out for a late-night snack, how about it?

It’s on me. I know a yakiniku place with peony hot pot, it’s really good.”

Clearly remembering watching Huai Shi devour food ravenously before, not waiting for Huai Shi’s response, Fujimoto took out his phone and started calling up the Fujimoto Group’s officers one by one.

Using this opportunity to formally introduce Huai Shi to the group members.

The van drove around the city with Huai Shi, finally stopping at the edge of the Tanbo Inner Circle, by a street full of izakayas.

Someone was already waiting there.

Even going out in the middle of the night, each dressed meticulously in black suits, upon seeing Fujimoto arrive, each spread their legs, hands on knees, and bowed ninety degrees to Fujimoto, respectfully calling out ’Affiliate!’.

Instead, the casually dressed Fujimoto smiled and waved, signaling everyone not to be so serious, and introduced a little brother for everyone to meet.

He pointed at Huai Shi as he spoke.

”From now on, we’re family. You older brothers must support him more, got it?”

”Yes!”

Everyone nodded in unison, then relaxed a bit. They began joking among themselves familiarly, though no one really paid attention to the newcomer Huai Shi.

Among them, Huai Shi’s introducer, Tanaka’s sworn brother, Yamashita, glanced at him with obvious discontent, implying that as the newcomer, he didn’t know the rules and should hurry up to flatter them, offering greetings to each of the big brothers.

Huai Shi just pretended not to see, flicking his bangs and following behind, smoking, and casting sidelong glances at the bustling surroundings.

Who do you think you are?

Soon they stopped in front of an izakaya.

Apparently having been there countless times, Fujimoto entered and waved at the woman behind the counter: ”Ah, Lady Kinai, long time no see, how’s business lately?”

”Not at all.” The lady boss, head bent over her accounts, looked up and nodded warmly: ”Thanks to everyone’s patronage, the private room is ready. Gentlemen, please come in...”

She said this, courteously leading the way, inviting them into the private room. After bringing them towels and sake, she considerately closed the door for them.

Soon, the dishes started coming in an endless stream.

What surprised Huai Shi was that Fujimoto hadn’t been exaggerating, this place was indeed excellent, far exceeding the usual flavors. Even an ordinary cold tofu dish had an extraordinary taste.

Well, although the skill was still a bit inferior to his, it couldn’t compare with Uncle Fang’s.

With food and drink at hand, Huai Shi couldn’t be bothered with anything else. After all, freeloading was the way.

Sure, I’m an undercover, but having been a second-fifth for so many years, would I really want to shake hands with Yamashita’s cold butt?

Instead, everyone else seemed quite caring towards Huai Shi, speaking kindly. And after Huai Shi toasted like drinking water for several rounds, they found him increasingly agreeable.

A few hybrid seniors, drunk and in high spirits, simply took off their disguises, smoked cigarettes with their feet up, and a few even started singing enka with Fujimoto... the ghostly wails, indulgent abandon, finally looked a bit like the Extreme Path.
