Apocalypse Forecast

After a year of leaving the team, Daoquan Junior High School Athletics Department Former Captain - Rimi Satonaka began to run again.

Following Miss Huaizhi’s instructions, upon encountering strange circumstances, she didn’t hesitate to escape for her life.

Isn’t this usually the case in TV dramas?

Although normally, when she was teammates, she didn’t show anything, after turning dark, she would certainly become three times stronger!

In a situation like this, the electric baton was completely useless, not to mention it was already completely broken, even using it to hit people felt too cumbersome, how could it possibly fight?

The most pressing issue now is to contact Miss Huaizhi.

But when she took out her phone to get in touch, it only displayed two big characters.

[Out of Range]

There was no phone signal at all.

And, despite following Miss Huaizhi’s instructions, apologizing seriously and sincerely to them… but this group of people showed no sign of understanding, instead chasing even more furiously!

Why?!

A sudden screeching sound came from the sky.

Whether a flying bird or a strange insect-like creature flapped its huge bat wings, diving straight at her face. The two massive iron birds circling around her suddenly rose up, and the sharp iron wings sliced across, instantly dismembering the hideous creature into pieces, with plasma splattering down, landing on her face.

In the stench, she didn’t manage to see the path clearly and was tripped by the steps underfoot.

When she got up, she found she had run into a dead end, surrounded by countless eerie creatures shimmering in the blood-red glow.

”Holy! Holy!”

The Iron crow cried out loudly again, its body emanating a fiery red light, diving down once more.

Easily tearing apart the monsters that pounced, then tearing apart the second, and the third. But those ghostly things were endless, even increasing in number, with no idea where they emerged from…

In the chaos, a bizarre limb flew and rolled to her feet.

She reflexively lowered her head, seeing the sharp appendage and the marks left on the fingers… the kind of expensive watch and huge gemstone ring that could only be seen on TV.

Zhenxi froze for a moment, seemingly finally understanding something.

She instinctively covered her mouth, wanting to vomit, but nothing came out.

Just couldn’t help but cry out.

She had seen that ring before, on the aunt she’d met once at lunch, arrogant like those rich people on screen, looking down on someone like her from the countryside disdainfully, with fingers pressing on the expensive ring on her index finger.

Position noble and dignified.

But now, it turned out like this… suddenly, without even knowing what happened…

In a daze, she vaguely understood a bit.

Perhaps she would meet the same fate?

Following this realization, came intense pain spreading through her bones, swelling joints, and severe congestion in her chest. A severe itch and pain surged on her forehead, as if something wanted to break out from the skull.

Intense dizziness and pain.

”No, no…” she breathed heavily, trying to prop up her body, but couldn’t stand steadily.

She knew what this was.

Her father, before he died, was like this, huge and sharp horns protruding from his forehead, like a mangled Evil Ghost.

This was the kind of transformation she’d experienced countless times in nightmares, felt the ghostly pain and discomfort residually within her bones each time she opened her eyes.

She would eventually become like that.

Just thinking about this made her so scared she lost strength, about to fall.

If Miss Huaizhi were here, she would just burst into tears unreasonably, sitting on the ground like a child scared to tears by horror stories, utterly embarrassed.

Yet besides seeking help from Miss Huaizhi, she didn’t know what else to do.

”Zhenxi!!!!”

In the dizziness, she heard a familiar voice roaring, ”Zhenxi, are you there! Zhenxi!!!”

The angry figure broke through the wall, charging into the monsters, displaying a stern and coldly imposing presence. The palm raised and slashed down.

The Yingzhou robe sleeves flapped like a flag.

When the sharp knife hand slashed down, the cutting wind of the Weasel spread out, transforming into a sharp edge akin to a divine weapon, sweeping across, dirty blood spraying everywhere.

”Zhenxi! Zhenxi can you hear me!”

In the chaos, the blood-covered middle-aged Samurai raised his head, looking anxiously at Zhenxi: ”Don’t be afraid, I’m right here, I’ll be there to save you soon!”

”Uncle Horn Mountain…” Zhenxi was stunned in place.

Horn Mountain roared, bringing his hands together, raised high like in a prayer, his expression solemn and dignified.

When the clasped hands slashed down, it stirred up a storm and air currents, countless invisible blades slashing outward, instantly plowing open a giant gap among the monsters.

Next, Horn Mountain raised his hands, smashing the monsters into pieces one by one!

Like a Hero and God descending from the heavens, the man with an iron-willed face crushed those who were once members of the Satomi clan one by one.

Crushing them mercilessly!

Until the last monster was sliced into meat paste, he turned around, raised his hand, casually slashing at the Iron crow just rising into the sky.

The cutting wind of the Weasel whistled past.

In Zhenxi’s momentary bewilderment, the Iron crow fell wounded, twitching and wailing.

Before she could react, Horn Mountain had already come over, strongly… hugging her: ”Thank goodness, you didn’t get hurt, it’s so good!”

Zhenxi froze in place, feeling his heartfelt excitement and relief.

”Uncle Horn Mountain?” She looked blankly at the excited man. ”Are you alright?”

”No, I’m fine, very fine.”

Horn Mountain realized his loss of composure, took a step back, and couldn’t hide the sense of content peace in his serious expression as he smiled and nodded, ”You truly haven’t been tainted by evil thoughts, Zhenxi! You are the only one in the Li Jian family who deserves to be saved. Hurry and come with me.”

He reached out, grabbed the teenage girl’s wrist, and hurriedly led her away.

”Leave?”

”That’s right, we need to be faster.” Horn Mountain walked ahead, casually slashing at the attacking monsters, ”Old Jiujing should have already activated Eight Rooms by now. Soon, the unleashed Takizai should purify everything here... Your time is running out.”

”Elder Brother Jiujing?”

Zhenxi was taken aback for a moment, ”Wait, Grandfather Inugami, and...”

”Zhenxi, they are all dead.”

Horn Mountain interrupted her, his voice flat.

Zhenxi couldn’t see his face, but somehow felt... When saying such words, Uncle Horn Mountain’s expression must be terrifying.

”But what about the others?” She pursued, ”What about the others? There might be survivors...”

”They will all die.”

Horn Mountain’s steps paused for a moment, and when he turned back, his expression was so calm that Zhenxi couldn’t believe it, ”Those flies that compete over rotten meat for power and money have no value to be saved.”

”What about Miss Huaizhi then?”

Zhenxi instinctively asked, ”What will happen to Miss Huaizhi!”

”...” Horn Mountain didn’t respond and continued forward.

But suddenly, Zhenxi forcefully broke free from his grip and took steps backward.

”Zhenxi?” Horn Mountain looked back in confusion, ”There’s no time to explain, hurry...”

Zhenxi was silent, looking at his face, and softly asked, ”Did Uncle Horn Mountain do all this?”

Horn Mountain didn’t answer, but his cold expression spoke volumes. That look was too frightening, and Zhenxi was completely afraid to look again.

”Why! Aren’t we all family!”

Suppressing uneasiness, she gritted her teeth and tremblingly asked, ”Even for money or power, there’s no need to go this far!”

”That’s why you don’t understand, Zhenxi.” Horn Mountain’s gaze became pitiful, ”Every one of them would go this far, only you wouldn’t... You’re different from them. This is their retribution, but not yours.”

He said, ”You still have a way out, Zhenxi.”

”... What if I don’t want to retreat?”

Zhenxi’s eyes trembled, as she looked back at the Raven mournfully on the ground not far away, ”Miss Huaizhi... she will die too, right?”

”She is deceiving you, Zhenxi!”

Horn Mountain widened his eyes and growled angrily under his breath, ”Are you still attached to the false shelter? She is Amber’s person! She is just using you as a tool! She...”

”I didn’t come here to be anyone’s tool! Miss Huaizhi never used me as a tool!”

Zhenxi interrupted him, her uncontrolled tone almost like a scream, ”All this time, although Miss Huaizhi never said anything warm or caring, but I know, she stayed to protect me.

It’s because I need to be the head of the family that she became my agent, it’s me who dragged her into this!”

In that instant, Zhenxi made up her mind.

”I’m sorry, Uncle Horn Mountain.”

She bent down and humbly pleaded, ”This is our agreement, I cannot betray her... A promise is more important than life, Uncle Horn Mountain, isn’t this what you taught me? Please, please don’t force me...”

In the silence, Horn Mountain’s expression gradually changed.

Whether it was anger or disappointment, or perhaps a numb sorrow.

”So, you’ve changed too, Zhenxi.” He murmured softly, slowly raising his hand, ”It’s a pity, if that’s the case, I have no choice but to...”

Without waiting for him to forcibly act, the long-hidden third Iron crow suddenly cried out loudly from Zhenxi’s shadow.

To protect Zhenxi, burning wings rose with azure Pieta, and charged towards Horn Mountain!

”Ridiculous!”

Horn Mountain roared lowly, the raised hand struck down, swiftly passing over the iron wings, the well-honed hand blade clashed with steel, unexpectedly easily tearing its wings apart, and completely severing its lower body.

The Iron crow mournfully fell to the ground.

Carrying the scent of Iris flower.

In that moment, a faint numbness spread, poison seeped through the minor cuts on his fingers, making him pause momentarily... less than a second.

Zhenxi shouldn’t have run far.

When he lifted his head with that thought, he saw the teenage girl standing in place.

And, in her hand... aimed at him was the black muzzle.

At that moment, the girl’s eyes, were they apologetic, sorrowful, or pained?

Horn Mountain couldn’t distinguish.

The only thing he could read was determination.

I’m sorry, Uncle Horn Mountain.

This time, I won’t miss...

Silently repeating her choked words, Zhenxi closed her eyes and pulled the trigger.
