Apocalypse Forecast

Children, run, go, hurry up and run!

Because your unbeatable opponent is right here!

All the way until leaving the arena and returning to the residence, Huai Shi didn’t speak again.

”It’s really too much, why target Miss Huaizhi like that?”

Morosely, Zhenxi complained, ”Isn’t he Cousin Amber’s agent? Aren’t we supposed to be allies?”

”To that old thing, the word ally is too cheap, without any meaning.” Huai Shi shook his head, ”As long as someone stands on the stage, they’re his enemy. Recognizing no one is the true essence of the Chef Demon duel; if an ally blocks your path, then crush the ally as well.”

For such a massive monster, does he really need the existence of allies?

”Maybe, in the end, we’ll really have to fight.” Huai Shi sighed, rubbing his forehead, ”I have to start preparing too.”

”Eh?” Zhenxi looked up in surprise, ”But I don’t want to be the head of the family.”

”...”

Huai Shi was left speechless.

Isn’t it a bit too early to worry about being the head of the family? So you really think I’m going to win?

This confidence is a bit over the top, right?

”Although it feels like that old gentleman is really amazing, I think Miss Huaizhi isn’t weak either.”

Zhenxi said sincerely, ”If you ask me, the one who’ll win in the end will definitely be Miss Huaizhi.”

”...”

In the silence, Huai Shi laughed softly, rubbing her hair.

”Then, I’ll take your word for it.”

Waved goodbye and said goodnight, Miss Huaizhi swayed back to her room, closed the door, and then started to panic like crazy...

After flipping through the recipes all night, she finally saw her own future between the lines.

No way out, just wait for death, goodbye.

.

.

The Chef Demon duel ended without any suspense.

Seven people suffered a miserable defeat.

Kaiseki, ramen, sashimi, sushi, peony hot pot...

All the proud dishes were swallowed like small appetizers by Guo ShouQue, still far from satisfied. In the end, no one succeeded in putting the small sacrifice on their plates.

Instead, after the match was over, Guo ShouQue, still not content, mixed his own dipping sauce and ate the pig’s head meat cleanly.

In front of all the opponents, from ears to brain marrow, not a piece was left.

Chewing indulgently on that spine-chilling Abyss essence, and then, he simply let out a burp.

Carrying his bamboo basket, he turned and left as casually as a grandfather strolling with a bird.

Leaving behind a scene of dead silence and tragedy.

As he left the arena, Vladimir received a call.

”Alright, I’ll be right there.”

Ten minutes later, he finally met up with his employer, who hadn’t been seen since the start of the Chef Demon duel.

Looking prematurely aged, with streaks of gray in his beard and hair, the middle-aged man in a suit sat on the sofa, pondering something.

It was his employer, Li Jian Zheng Ping.

More people called this man Xie Liaosha, Selesh·Satomi.

Although a legitimate eldest son, among all the candidates for the head of the family, he turned out to have the weakest relationship with the family. Since leaving for the Russian Federation, he had little economic contact with the family.

Over the years, he roamed between the Russian Federation and Africa under the guise of a scholar and businessman; what business he was really into wasn’t known to many.

Many people knew he was very wealthy, influential, and had many close friends among the high echelons of the Russian Federation government. Beyond that, everything was shrouded in mystery.

In response to this, Vladimir wasn’t particularly interested, nor did he feel any awe or whatnot. Entering with a warm greeting: ”Hey, what have you been busy with these days, it’s been a while, hasn’t it?”

He casually rummaged through his liquor cabinet, found a bottle of whiskey, and began to gulp it down.

”...Valia, just don’t speak Japanese; calling him旦那桑 [Danna-san] just doesn’t sound right.”

Li Jian Zheng Ping shook his head and, after a sigh, asked: ”Did you watch today’s duel?”

Vladimir nodded.

”Any thoughts?”

”Well, that old guy is indeed excessively strong... but boss, you don’t have to worry, leave it to me. No matter what kind of demonic monsters, I can take a swing at them.”

Flamikir flaunted his biceps, ”My ’Hardman Steak’ is invincible!”

”Having confidence is good.”

After a moment of thought, Li Jian Zheng Ping suddenly said, ”However, tomorrow I will initiate a designated challenge for you.”

”The opponent? Who is it?”

”Huaizhi Sushi.”

From Li Jian Zheng Ping’s mouth came an unexpected name.

In an instant, Vladimir understood.

To avoid being attacked by Guo ShouQue, he had chosen his opponent in advance, avoiding a powerful enemy mid-game to prevent depletion, which was indeed a brilliant strategy.

Vladimir didn’t mind; no matter how reckless, as a warrior nation, they at least understood tactics.

Temporary retreat is not more shameful, not to mention he had long been interested in Miss Huaizhi.

”The plan has changed, do you understand my meaning, Valia?”

Li Jian Zheng Ping suddenly said.

The muscular Chef Demon paused, nodded, ”Leave it to me, boss!”

”Sorry for suggesting something not in our contract.” After some thought, Li Jian Zheng Ping asked, ”I’ll add extra money for you; it’s still that whale protection association, right?”

”It’s now renamed.” Vladimir corrected, ”Recently, we’ve partnered with the Indonesia Marine Conservation Association and Northern Shipping, it’s now called the Pacific Rare Marine Animal Protection Association!”

”Whatever works, I’ll just go ahead and give you the entire payment upfront...” Li Jian Zheng Ping pulled out a checkbook, scribbled for a while, then looked up and asked, ”One hundred million US dollars, is that enough?”

Vladimir nodded vigorously.

Li Jian Zheng Ping thought for a moment and added thirty million more.

”Thank you, boss, you’re the best.”

The muscular Chef Demon happily accepted the check, whistled, and then carefully tucked it into the innermost pocket of his toolbox.

”With this, the activity funds for the next two years are secured...”

”Valia, you’re not getting any younger, right? Wouldn’t it be better if you kept that money for yourself?” Li Jian Zheng Ping shook his head, ”At over thirty, it’s time to settle down, find a wife, and raise a family, right?”

”Educating offspring is still a long way off for me; I can at least fight for another thirty years, kids or whatever, that’ll come thirty years later!”

Vladimir slapped his chest, seriously saying, ”The key is to achieve the ideal, the ideal! Protecting the blue sea and Earth, isn’t that great!”

Li Jian Zheng Ping was left speechless, got up, and took his leave.

”Leaving already? Aren’t you going to watch my duel?”

”Sorry, there’s a Ministry of Defense meeting to attend tomorrow morning; even though it’s just protocol, I still have to be there.” Regretfully sighed Li Jian Zheng Ping, finally patting him on the shoulder: ”I’ll leave the rest to you.”

”So cold, I almost feel like a mistress being abandoned.”

Vladimir laughed heartily, downing the whiskey in the bottle.

With his fingers tightening, the glass bottle emitted a sharp whimper. It did not shatter but compressed inch by inch, eventually turning into a toy-sized miniature in his closed palm.

”Leave it to me.”

He placed the tiny bottle on the table and turned to leave.

Ten minutes later, under the gentle pressure of the liquor bottle, the whole table collapsed.

At twelve midnight and six minutes.

The battle erupted suddenly on the edge of Nara city.

It ended at twelve ten.

After paying a heavy price, the Agleam Murder Demon Kiyoshi Kusaki was brought to justice.
